Organisers look forward to a bumper Kilnsey Show and Sports
ORGANISERS of this month's Kilnsey Show are looking forward to a bumper event.
There have been record entries in the sheep and horse classes at the Yorkshire Dales premier agricultural show and good numbers of entries into the cattle classes, says Chris Windle, show chair.
In addition, there have been more than 1,200 entries into the produce, horticulture and handicrafts section, a third more than last year, and including 300 entries alone into the hotly contested bread and cake classes.
Attractions include sports, the crag race, a fairground, drystone walling competition, harness racing and new to this year, a vintage car contest. There will also be a diverse selection of trade stands, food and drink and demonstrations.
Ending the event will be the speed shearing competition, with points awarded for accuracy.
Entries are now closed for the event which takes place on Tuesday, August 26 at the Kilnsey showground.
