Can YOU guess who these celebrities are meant to be? Eight of the worst court sketches as Kim Kardashian takes the stand in $10m jewel heist trial
They are among the world's most recognisable stars, A List celebrities with millions of fans but you'd never be able to tell from these court sketches. Stars like Rebekah Vardy, Paris Hilton, Brad Pitt and Kim Kardashian have all had their famously flawless visages ripped to shreds. Most recently Kim Kardashian's likeness was turned into a cartoonish portrait as she testified in the trial for a 2016 jewellery heist in Paris. And famously he sister Kylie Jenner was no doubt left shocked by the portrait that was produced for the defamation case against her sister-in-law Black Chyna in 2022. But they're not the only ones to be savaged by the artist's brush but can you guess who these stars are from their unflattering court portraits? Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian broke down in tears as she told the court she forgives the defendant, despite fearing she was going to be raped and killed during the $10 million heist. While Kim, 44, took to the stand, sketch artists were on hand to recreate her famous appearance, but in this instance it seemed to miss the mark. Instead of a perfect pout, the reality star was shown with a pinched face looking shocked as she addressed the court. Kylie Jenner And she's not the only Kardashian to have fallen foul of the curt room sketch artist. In 2022 the Kardashian-Jenner clan including Kim, Khloe, Kylie, and Kris attended legal proceedings for Blac Chyna's $108 million case against them where they were accused of making statements that ruined or defamed the reality star's reputation and of plotting to get her TV show Rob and Chyna axed. While the Kardashians managed to win their legal battle and Chyna was not awarded any damages, the reality stars were none the less left worse off after seeing their court sketches. The make-up mogul Kylie Jenner was no doubt left shocked after seeing a portrait of her with bulging lips and long lashes as she stared down at her lap while hearing the verdict read out. Tom Brady The legendary quarterback ended up in federal court in New York in 2015 after being suspended for four games by the NFL over the 'Deflategate' ball tampering scandal. Tom Brady's suspension was overturned and he was allowed to compete in the rest of the 2015 season but NFL fans were less interested in Brady's football career and more interested in the depiction of him during the trial. In his court sketch the sports star was shown in a dark suit, leaning heavily on the table with his eyes closed. Fans were unable to recognise the football legend who appeared to be melting and whose features and hair were a far cry away from his usual aesthetic. Taylor Swift She's a pop icon worth more than $1.6billion but even Taylor Swift isn't immune to an unflattering portrait or two. During a one-week trial in 2017 where she counter-sued David Mueller, a former Denver DJ who accused the singer of falsely accusing him of groping her at a photo shoot, Swift became just one of the many victims of the artist's pen. The judge found in her favour but much less favourable was the portrait where the Bad Blood singer was barely recognisable in a black dress and her hair swept back in a bun. Sat with her lawyer and her mother Andrea, Swift stared down at the judge with her eyebrow raised. Rebekah Vardy The sensational 'Wagatha Christie' trial saw Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney embroiled in court room drama. Mrs Vardy unsuccessfully sued the I'm A Celeb star in the High Court in 2022 after she was publicly accused of leaking stories about her to the press. The catalyst for the famous Wagatha Christie case was a dramatic open letter written by Mrs Rooney and posted on social media in October 2019 in which she revealed she had turned detective to figure out who had been leaking details of her personal life. And it seems the £1,190,000 legal bill wasn't the only blow to the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy who was rendered rather unflatteringly in a sketch. But luckily for her she wasn't the only one and Wayne Rooney and his wife were also painted - literally - in a bad light with a group portrait of the warring trio huddled round a table in The Royal Courts of Justice in 2022. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt Once Hollywood's golden couple, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt appear unrecognisable in a quick court sketch from the early 2000s. Between 2000 and 2005, the Friends star sued a photographer for breach of privacy after he snapped and sold topless pictures of her sunbathing in her back garden. During her court appearance, she was supported by her then-husband (a heavily bearded) Brad Pitt but you'd never have guessed by the artist's sketch which shows Pitt with long hair and straggly facial hair and Aniston with a loose ponytail and striped shirt. Aniston eventually won the case, landing a final settlement of $550,000 after claiming the snapper caused her serious emotional distress. Paris Hilton Paris Hilton appeared in court in Los Angeles in 2007 for violating her probation and the socialite was no doubt upset by the way she had been rendered in the sketch. At the time a judge ruled that Hilton spend 45 days in jail for knowingly driving without a valid license after a traffic offence from a previous instance. The judge sentenced her to jail time, specifically ruling against work release, furloughs, alternative jail placements, or electronic monitoring. According to The Guardian, Hilton shouted 'It's not right,' and cried for her mother, who was seated behind her in court as she was led away by sheriff's deputies. In the court sketch Hilton was shown with her blonde hair swept back in to a low bun, in a black strappy top with a chunky necklace. At the time a judge ruled that Hilton spend 45 days in jail for knowingly driving without a valid license after a traffic offence from a previous instance. Jude Law In 2014 actor Jude Law took to the stand at the Old Bailey to give evidence in the News Of The World phone-hacking trial. Former editors Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson were on trial accused of conspiracy to hack mobile phones. Law told the jury that press attention intensified when he was nominated for an Oscar in 2001 for The Talented Mr Ripley and continued through his divorce from actress Sadie Frost. And to add injury to insult, Law's court sketch, showing him dressed in a dark suit with a spotty tie, bared little resemblance to his actual appearance - other than his famous widow's peak hairline.

Kim Kardashian's courtroom curse strikes again as artist sketches unflattering portrait of star during Paris jewellery heist trial - after string of other drawings were mocked online
The Kardashian family don't have the best track record, with previous court sketches of the famous clan ruthlessly mocked online. And it seems that the famous courtroom curse has struck again, with Kim Kardashian 's likeness turned into an unflattering portrait as she testified in the trial for a 2016 jewellery heist in Paris. The influencer broke down in tears as she told the court she forgives the defendant, despite fearing she was going to be raped and killed during the $10 million heist. While Kim, 44, took to the stand, sketch artists were on hand to recreate her famous appearance, but in this instance it seemed to miss the mark. This was echoed by one user, who shared one of the sketches on X with the caption: 'Nah what has the court sketch artist actually done to lady kim kardashian??!' This is not the first time that sketches of the Kardashian family have faced brutal scrutiny, as back in 2022, the appearances of Kim and her sisters Khloe and Kylie, as well as momager Kris Jenner, became a huge talking point online. The family were drawn after appearing in court for Blac Chyna's $108 million lawsuit against them. 'The court sketches from the Blac Chyna court case are brutal,' one fan wrote, as the illustrations set Twitter ablaze. 'Kim is going to sue the hell out of this court room sketch artist,' another Twitter user joked, while one person remarked that the artist must 'hate' Kylie for her harsh representation in the sketch. Others suggested that the courtroom drawings of the reality stars indicate just how much their faces have changed over the years, with one person describing them as 'showing how they have deformed themselves'. 'The courtroom sketch artist is clearly NOT a Kardashian fan,' the Twitter user wrote, adding: 'These ugly depictions of Kim, Khloe, and Kylie are hysterical and speak to how they have deformed themselves in a very unattractive way. Good on Kris though. She looks good!' Meanwhile, some joked that the courtroom sketch artist 'must be Team Chyna' as the reality star fared much better in the illustrations. The sketches were the work of illustrator Mona Shafer Edwards, who states on her website that her work has covered everything from 'courtroom drama' to 'fashion'. Previous courtroom sketches included on her site feature the likes of Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson. The illustrator described herself as 'bringing a fluid, elegant and evocative style' to her work, although her latest drawings of the Kardashians failed to impress social media. Kim arrived at the court wearing a $3 million necklace by Samer Halimeh New York, crafted in 18K white gold and featuring 80 diamonds, culminating in a 10.13-carat pear-shaped center stone. She added a Sloan Pave diamond ear cuff worth $8,300. Inside the courtroom, Kardashian broke down in tears as she shared her fears that she thought she would raped that evening. Kardashian stood in the packed courtroom across from her mother, Kris Jenner. As she entered the Voltaire Room, the star was greeted by cheers of 'wow' from the audience. Her voice broke as she sobbed while telling the courtroom: 'I just want to be heard and understood. I appreciate the letter, those words. I forgive you. But it doesn't change the emotion and the feelings, the trauma, and my life being changed forever,' after the judge read aloud an apology note written to Kardashian in 2017. 'I came to Paris for fashion week, Paris was always a place that I loved so much. I used to walk around the city when I woke up in the middle of the night. I always felt very safe.' Kardashian told the court. 'It was around three in the morning. I heard stomping up the stairs when I was in bed. I kept calling out for my sister and one of my best friends, but no one answered me. And in my bedroom come in a few police officers, or what I assumed were police officers as they were in police uniforms,' she said, recalling the night of the robbery. She told the court that the attackers arrived dressed as police officers, with the concierge in handcuffs. Kardashian described how they tied her hands with cable ties, dragged her to the bathtub and pointed a gun at her temple. One robber gestured toward her ring. 'Then I heard one of the gentlemen forcefully say 'Ring! Ring!' in English, with an accent, pointing'. The suspects are accused of tying up Kardashian with zip ties and duct tape before making off with jewellery, including a $4million engagement ring given to her by her then-husband rapper Kanye West (now known as Ye), according to investigators. 'And I was still in such shock, because honestly a lot of terrorist attacks were happening in the world, and I thought it was some sort of terrorist attack, and I didn't immediately understand it was for my jewellery. 'They pulled me back in the room once they realised they had everything, and they threw me on the bed. 'I was pretty hysterical and I just looked at the concierge and told him what is going to happen to us, I have to make it home to my babies,' Kardashian said. She said at one point she feared she was going to be raped as the robbers threw her on the bed and one of them grabbed her leg. 'But he ended up tying me up and closed my legs,' she added. 'I thought about my sister, thought she would walk in and see me shot dead and have that memory in her forever. 'I absolutely thought I was going to die. 'After a few minutes, I didn't hear anything, so I (moved over) to the sink, and it was a marble sink so I cut my ties. 'When I got downstairs, Simone (her stylist) let me know that she had called my sister Kourtney, and her and the security were on the way. We weren't sure at that point if they were going to come back. So we ran on the balcony to hide in the bushes. 'I remember calling my mom from the bushes to let her know what happened. And then I think while we were waiting for my security, we were trying to come up with a plan, if we should jump from the window, as it was just a one-storey building.' French prosecutors say the men who orchestrated the heist - most in their 60s and 70s - were part of a seasoned criminal ring that tracked Kardashian's movements through social media. Two of the defendants have admitted being at the scene. One claims he didn't know who she was. Twelve suspects were originally charged. One has died and another was excused due to illness. The French press dubbed the group les papys braqueurs - 'the grandpa robbers' - but prosecutors insist they were no harmless retirees. Yunice Abbas, 71, who is among the 10 suspects standing trial, many in their late 60s or 70s and dubbed 'the grandpa gang,' has told French media that he and others who took part in the robbery did not know who Kardashian was. 'It's not her, it's her diamond we targeted,' Abbas told C8 TV a few years ago. Abbas has admitted his participation in the robbery - writing a book about his role. In interviews with French media, he said he was sorry for what he did and wanted to apologise to Kardashian. There is no possibility of a guilty plea in such cases and Abbas is standing trial despite admitting to playing a role in the robbery. Frank Berton, a lawyer representing 68-year-old Aomar Ait Khedache, nicknamed 'Omar the Old,' said last month he hoped the fact that Kardashian is a global star won't affect the trial. Khedache is accused of being the gang's ringleader, which he denies. 'This trial attracts international attention because of who the plaintiff, the victim, is,' Berton said. Kardashian jetted into the French capital on Monday, sharing a picture of her view from the plane that she captioned simply with a French flag. While it is not known what the SKIMS founder got up to the night before her day in court, her mother Jenner took to Instagram to reveal she had spent the evening at dinner with partner Corey Gamble and Michael Coste. The suspects in the trial are accused of tying up billionaire Kardashian with zip ties and duct tape before making off with jewels, including a $4 million engagement ring given to her by her then-husband rapper Kanye West (now known as Ye), according to investigators. Cameras are usually not allowed in courtrooms in France, and Kardashian's testimony will not be broadcast live.
