A delightful real-life British movie led by Line of Duty's Daniel Mays is now streaming for free

Daniel Mays' wholesome movie Fisherman's Friends is available to stream for free in the UK. Released in 2019, the feel-good musical movie is inspired by true events and is now available to watch on Channel4's streaming platform. Directed by Chris Foggin, Fisherman's Friends tells the story of the real-life group of Cornish fishermen from Port Isaac who were signed by Universal Records and even achieved a top 10 hit with their debut album of sea shanties. Line of Duty's Mays stars as cynical London music executive Danny, who heads to Cornwall for a colleague's stag do. While there, his boss tricks him into signing a group that sing sea shanties. What started as a silly challenge turns into something more profound for Danny, who discovers the meaning of community and loyalty. Related: The group is made up of Jim (James Purefoy), Jago (David Hayman), Leadville (Dave Johns) and Rowan (Sam Swainsbury), with Sense8 star Tuppence Middleton starring as Jim's daughter Alwyn. The members of the real Fisherman's Friends group all appear in cameos, with script co-writer Piers Ashworth confirming to The Guardian that the singing in the film was a blending of the actual singers' voices and those of the actors. Fisherman's Friends: One and All, a sequel focusing the group's big 2011 gig at Glastonbury, was released in 2022. Behind the camera for the follow-up were screenwriters of the first film Nick Moorcroft and Meg Leonard, who also penned the sequel's script with Ashworth. Sadly, the sequel isn't available to stream for free. However, those who wish to go for a comfort double bill can buy or rent it on several digital retailers, including Amazon. Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt's sci-fi flop has just been added to Prime Video

A star-studded sci-fi flop of recent years has made its way onto Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. Released in 2016, Passengers stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt as Aurora and Jim, two colonists who are suddenly woken up during their suspended hibernation journey to a colonised planet and risk dying a horrible death. But not even the double whammy star power of Lawrence and Pratt could save Passengers from negative reviews. The film from director Morten Tyldum and writer Jon Spaihts may boast a stacked cast — with Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, and Andy García joining the two protagonists — but it only has a 30% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Related: Despite the scathing reviews, and a debate over the film's handling of consent and some problematic sex scenes, Passengers fared decently at the box office, ultimately earning $303.1 million worldwide. If you wish to take a look for yourself and decide what to make of Passengers, the film was added to Prime Video yesterday in both the UK and Ireland. Prior to Passengers, Tyldum directed biopic The Imitation Game, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing, as well as Keira Knightley in the role of Joan Clark. Related: For the movie, the filmmaker earned a Best Director nomination at the 2014 Oscars, but lost to Alejandro G Iñarritu for Birdman. Tyldum has also directed for television, being behind the camera of episodes of Apple TV+ series Defending Jacob and Silo. Passengers is streaming on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. In the US, the film is available on the same platform. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! Terrifying Sally Hawkins horror Bring Her Back finally confirms UK release date

Talk To Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou are returning with Bring Her Back, a skin-crawling, supernatural horror starring Sally Hawkins. The Aussie filmmaking duo are set to explore the realm of the dead once again with their sinister, sophomore feature about a grief-stricken foster mother (Hawkins) who involves her kids in a reincarnation ritual of sorts. Or at least, that's what the enigmatic trailer suggests. Ahead of the film's release — set for May 30 in the US and August 1 in the UK — a first, extended trailer sees Hawkins' character badly dealing with the loss of a loved one. "How did you cope with Cathy being gone?" a man asks the protagonist off-screen, to which she replies: "I didn't." Hawkins' lead then welcomes two new kids, played by Sora Wong and Billy Barratt, to her home and introduces them to Oliver (Jonah Wren Phillips), a third, elder child. Related: In an attempt to help them bond, the protagonist tells them that they have all lost their families. Still, the new children struggle to connect with Oliver and realise they've just become part of an unholy project courtesy of their foster mum. Cue a montage of creepy scenes where the protagonist watches some camcorder footage, cuts a lock of hair from a corpse in a coffin, and gives a bath to Oliver, who seems to be in contact with the underworld. "Some people believe the spirit stays in the body for months after death," Hawkins says in the clip, as she appears set to resurrect someone from her past with Oliver's help. Related: If you've seen Talk To Me (and we highly recommend you do if you haven't), then you already know that meddling with life and death probably won't go down well for the characters. How Bring Her Back's possibly demonic denouement will pan out isn't too clear from the trailer, but it sounds ominous. For the time being, the only thing we should be wary of this side of the pond are spoilers, given the two-month gap between the US and the UK releases. Bring Her Back hits US cinemas on 30 May. In the UK, the film releases on August 1. A Talk To Me sequel, titled , has been announced. at at Pandora at at at at at Apple at at at You Might Also Like PS5 consoles for sale – PlayStation 5 stock and restocks: Where to buy PS5 today? Molly-Mae Hague confirms she's "figuring things out" with Tommy Fury after reuniting for "best holiday ever"

Molly-Mae Hague has confirmed she is "figuring things out" with Tommy Fury after reuniting for a holiday together. The two stars confirmed their split last year, Tommy explaining at the time that his issues with alcohol led to the break-up. Following recent rumours that they had rekindled their romance, Molly-Mae has revealed that she and Tommy have spent some time together in Dubai with daughter Bambi after speculation swirled amid Instagram posts from the city. "We had a really really really amazing time, probably the best holiday ever for all of us," she said in a YouTube vlog. "It's not that I'm hiding it, I'm not quite ready to talk about it. "It's private, but also it's not really private at all. It's a different world when your relationship is in the public eye. "When you have a relationship in the public eye, trying to rebuild that relationship or work on that relationship or see if you have something worth saving. You can't figure things out the way a normal relationship would. Molly-Mae further spoke about being initially secretive about the fact they are with one another, telling fans she doesn't want them to think she is "not being honest". The star also hit back at rumours that they are planning to announce a rekindling on the next part of her Prime Video tell-all documentary Behind It All, which is due in spring. Related: "Guys, that's honestly not the case at all," she said. "The only reason I haven't spoken about my relationship to you guys on here and things like Dubai and all of that is because, to be honest, I'm not ready to. "I don't really know how I want to talk about it, or if I want to talk about it. Or if I ever want to talk about it, I don't know." A representative for Tommy recently hit back at "false" rumours about him and Molly-Mae, confirming that he has "not filmed for Molly's show on Amazon". at at Pandora at at at at at Apple at at at You Might Also Like PS5 consoles for sale – PlayStation 5 stock and restocks: Where to buy PS5 today?
