Local people have been asked to keep windows and doors closed because of a "large smoke plume", Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) said. The fire, at the site of the former Narrowcliff Hotel near Tolcarne beach, was reported at about 16:15 BST on Tuesday. CFRS said multiple crews were expected to be on the scene for a "prolonged period of time" and people should stay away from the area.
