Papers to be sent to prosecutors for 2 Kyoto police officers for voyeurism
NHK has learned that police in Kyoto, western Japan, will send papers to prosecutors for two officers suspected of sneak photography in women's restrooms.
Investigative sources say a small camera was found inside a cubicle of a women's restroom at Nakagyo Police Station in March.
Images on the camera showed a male officer in his 20s who works at the police station.
In a separate case, a male officer in his 40s is suspected of setting up a camera-equipped smartphone in a women's restroom at Shimogamo Police Station from the beginning of this year through April. The officer works at the station.
Both men have reportedly admitted to the allegations. The Kyoto Prefectural Police plan to send their documents to prosecutors as early as Thursday.
In September last year and in March this year, papers were also sent to prosecutors for officers at Shimogyo and Uji police stations in Kyoto. They were suspected of sneak photography on trains and other offenses. Both officers quit their jobs.
