Technology: Device designed to regulate body temperature
Good points?
The device features two Peltier elements that alternate operation, ensuring continuous cooling or warming without interruption. This means those long waits in the baking sun or freezing air for a bus are less of a hardship.
Adjustable arms allow the gadget to contort to the contours of the neck to keep it in place under a shirt or other clothing preferences. It fits comfortably against the neck enhancing heat or cold transfer and skin contact for better temperature regulation.
Users can manually select between five cooling levels and four warming levels for precise control over their comfort. The Smart Cool feature automatically adjusts cooling intensity based on ambient temperature, humidity and user movement which optimises comfort for up to 15 hours.
The iOS/Android app provides detailed control over modes, intensity and temperature thresholds.
Its light grey chassis is fairly low-profile (130 x 58 x 36mm) making it suitable for professional settings when worn under clothing.
The inclusion of short and long vent caps allows users to optimize airflow depending on their collar type (casual or business attire).
Bad points?
The device is only splash and sweat resistant meaning it's not suitable for heavy rain so hikers and Munro baggers beware.
At 194g, it's not the lightest wearable and some users may find it noticeable under thinner clothing.
