India's Foreign Minister Sees Progress in China Ties on First Visit Since 2020
India's foreign minister said ties with Beijing have been stabilizing in recent months, as he visits China for the first time since the deadly border clashes between the two Asian neighbors in 2020.
Bilateral relations have been 'steadily improving' since Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Kazan last October, India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said during a meeting with the Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing on Monday. 'Continued normalization of our ties can produce mutually-beneficial outcomes,' he added, according to a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
