North Korea denies removing its loudspeakers along border with south
The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has denied South Korea's claim that the North has removed some of its loudspeakers along the inter-Korean border. In a statement carried by state-run media on Thursday, Kim Yo Jong said North Korea has never removed any loudspeakers and has no intention of doing so. She said North Korea has clarified several times that it has no will to improve relations with South Korea and that this stance will be fixed in the country's constitution in the future. South Korea on August 4 said it began removing all its loudspeakers used for anti-North propaganda broadcasts in a bid to ease tensions. On Saturday it said the North also began removing some of its speakers that had been used to broadcast loud noises. Regarding relations with the US, Kim Yo Jong said that unless Washington revises its policy toward the North, a resumption of dialogue between the two countries will remain only the hope of the US.
