Inside Bugaboo's Parent-First Philosophy: Leadership Lessons From CCO Jeanelle Teves
Fox 5 Renew stroller While most children were on the playground, 9 year-old Jeanelle Teves was busy answering phones at her parents' dental practice, learning invaluable career lessons that would pay dividends years later as she is now the Chief Commercial Officer for North America at Bugaboo, the premium stroller brand for kids. "I had so much anxiety when I would have to answer the phone," she recalled. "I was thinking, they're going to know that I'm just a kid. What if I don't know the answer to their question?" But her mother's encouragement—"Ask them what they need. What is the problem that you're looking to solve?"—became the foundation for a career built on communication and customer-centric thinking. Jeanelle Teves, Chief Commercial Officer, NA The most powerful gift her parents gave her wasn't material—it was a mindset. "My parents always raised my brother and I with the mentality of 'why not you?'" she explained during our interview. 'You want to go to business school? Why not you? Go for it.' This philosophy became her north star, especially when facing the inevitable voices of doubt. "The world will tell you so many reasons that you can't do it—you're not good enough, you're not educated enough, you're too young, you're not experienced enough. But I watched my parents say, 'This is what we want to do. Why not us?'" Jeanelle's calling early on was to see the world, and education became her passport for that adventure. She booked a one-way ticket to Barcelona for graduate school, which later proved to be a life-changing decision because that's where she met her future husband who invited her to move to Amsterdam. That leap led to a role at Nike's European headquarters, where she spent nearly a decade traveling across Europe and eventually becoming the General Manager of Nike Women's in New York City. "You can only connect the dots looking backwards," Jeanelle reflected. "Now it makes so much sense that I'm working for a Dutch design company in North America." Nearly 5 years ago, Jeanelle was faced with a big decision. She was thriving at Nike, deeply embedded in the sports industry she enjoyed. Suddenly, she had an opportunity to join Bugaboo and the stars aligned: she had just become a new mother and was living the experience of Bugaboo's target customer, and she had spent years in the Netherlands, where Bugaboo was already a household name. "I was completely immersed in this new parent mentality. I understood the mindset, the market, the brand opportunity," she explains. "It was the perfect intersection of my personal life and professional runway." The transition from a global organization like Nike to a smaller company required courage. However, Jeanelle saw an opportunity to bring her experience to a company obsessed with solving real problems for parents. "If I was going to take a risk, this was the perfect intersection of two areas of my life coming together." Success at the executive level requires what Jeanelle calls "filling your cup." Her morning routine starts at 5 AM with what she calls the "3-3-3 exercise": three wins from the previous day, three things she's grateful for, and three priorities for the current day. "I sleep with a notebook next to my bed," she explains. "Some days those priorities might include conducting an interview like this, and other days it might be about ordering balloons for a birthday party.' If at the end of the day I've done those three things, it was a good day." This practice of focusing on "green shoots"—small positive signals even in challenging times—has become central to her leadership approach. 'When everything around you is signaling that it's going to be a tough quarter or tough year, you have to work hard to draw upon your emotions to fill your cup because everyone is looking at you to lead.' At Bugaboo, she oversees the growth of a brand famous for innovative design and engineering. But she's quick to clarify a common misconception: while celebrities are often photographed with Bugaboos, the brand's strength lies in its obsessive attention to quality and problem-solving. 'Sometimes product design is a multi-year process,' she explains. The company's durability tests are seven times higher than industry standards, reflecting what she calls a "rocket ship to space" level of precision. One of her proudest achievements has been bringing the Bugaboo Kangaroo to market—the first stroller specifically designed for parents who might want to expand their families. "It was built with a modular design that allowed you to place a second seat months or years later when you decide to have your second child." Bugaboo Fox 5 Renew in Deep Indigo The recent launch of the Fox 5 Renew (pictured above), is another milestone for the company as it's the intersection of premium design with quality that's built to last. It's been tested on over 4,000 miles of rough terrain to ensure the wheels don't puncture and it has a modular design which makes repairs easier. It's also built with sustainable materials and features an eco-friendly design (breathable, antibacterial) to make it comfortable for little ones. But her pride extends beyond products to policies. During her tenure, Bugaboo extended maternity leave to 16 weeks and introduced flexible return-to-work plans. "When we talk about empowering parents, it's not only about products we create as a company." When asked for career advice, Jeanelle champions the idea of small, consistent actions compounding over time. "Don't underestimate the power of relationships and mentors," she advises. "Think of your network as a bank account—you are constantly putting in deposits. Every once in a while, you'll make a withdrawal, and you're glad that you've put those deposits in over the years." Her second piece of advice is even more fundamental: 'Be known for being consistently good and that will take you very far. Being consistently good will take you much farther than being occasionally great.' Perhaps no practice has been more transformative for Jeanelle than her commitment to gratitude. She's maintained a running note on her phone simply titled "Gratitude," adding to it whenever she travels or needs perspective. "When I am feeling bad and I just open up this note, I am feeling abundant because I have the wind at my back," she explains. Today, as Chief Commercial Officer, Jeanelle is clear about her responsibilities: "I get to grow the business and brand in North America" by ensuring her team is "united and spending their energy and time on the same united goals." The loneliness that can come with executive leadership—having to project confidence even when facing uncertainty—is balanced by the privilege of impact. "It's an incredible privilege to play that role and to be in a position to lead others," she acknowledges. Jeanelle represents a different model of success—one built not on overnight breakthroughs, but on the compound effect of consistent excellence, authentic leadership, and the simple but powerful belief that when opportunity knocks, the answer should always be: "Why not me?" Value: 17/20 Functionality: 19/20 Portability: 19/20 Aesthetic: 19/20 Safety: 19/20TOTAL: 93/100 It was 2018 and I was about to welcome my first-born son. Stroller decisions were top of mind and everyone had an opinion. I took my research to the Brooklyn streets and noticed that most parents relied on UPPABaby's Vista model. ('It has the flexibility to accommodate two,' one mom gleefully told me, referencing the option to purchase an additional RumbleSeat. 'The storage space is so good, you won't need a car,' another exclaimed.) At the time, my focus was entirely on baby #1, but it felt like a good investment. I was sold. Back then, my test was of the OG model—and, while I loved it, I had some notes. In comparison to other strollers I've tried, the original Vista wasn't as smooth when making twisty turns around potholes on the street. The straps were also occasionally finicky to adjust and click into place. The bassinet, which I also used by my bedside thank to this handy stand ($200), didn't have a ton of breathability. Enter UPPABaby's brand-new Vista V3 model (not to mention the 2024 arrival of my second-born son, now nine months) and all of these details have been addressed. But that's not all: Over the course of my test drive, the number of times I thought to myself wow, how great is this stroller was vast. Here, the many reasons it's a stand-out. How I Tested the UPPABaby Vista V3 Stroller Rachel Bowie While I relied on the Doona Car Seat and Stroller for car travel and easy transitions from the road to baby's room while snoozing, I'm a Brooklyn mom and I walk everywhere. I needed an everyday stroller that was sturdy and robust. The aforementioned ample storage space was a must—enough to fit groceries, but also my older son's backpack and school supplies—I also wanted a stroller that could support a range of ages and stages. The Vista V3, which can by outfitted with a bassinet ($280), was the perfect option to help me transition from the newborn phase to my now upright and babbling nine-month-old, which is exactly the length of this test. I've relied on this stroller to walk the round-trip four miles a day to pickup and drop-off with my 7-year-old; I've stuffed it in the trunk of our car for vacations to Washington D.C., Massachusetts and more. I've toggled the RumbleSeat from backward-facing to forward-facing as my baby gained more head control. I've used it in snowstorms, rainstorms and more. All this is to say that I've put the V3 through its paces—and I'm totally impressed. MY UPPABABY VISTA V3 STROLLER REVIEW What I Love About the UPPABaby Vista V3 Stroller Rachel Bowie The most noticeable difference when I first tested it out is truly the maneuverability and the suspension. What I lamented in the OG edition (wheels that got stuck on a sidewalk lip, for example, and required an extra bit of elbow grease to traverse) has all been upgraded and improved. In fact, the newer model offers an especially smooth ride on difficult terrains: I found it significantly easier to zig and zag around people on the sidewalk and also to push one-handed than its predecessor. It also meant that my infant stayed sleeping longer in most circumstances—the biggest win. I also love the addition of the five-point harness (which was added in the Vista V2 model, too), as well as the magnetic clasp. This means that strapping baby in so that they are safe and secure feels rather brainless. The various straps almost find each other—that's how strong the clasp is—while still staying child-proof. They're also easy to adjust without having to remove baby from the seat, helpful as your baby rapidly grows (or even just falls asleep in an awkward position). Other details worth calling out: The addition of a mesh panels to the bassinet and the option to winterize the toddler seat with a padded insert. I was particularly thankful for the added ventilation while pushing my newborn around on Halloween this past autumn, when temps somehow were still in the high 80s in New York. My baby snoozed happily but had a nice airflow at the same time. The storage continues to be a stand-out (I've fit everything from a farmers' market haul to my son's scooter beneath baby); ditto the peek-a-boo spot on the toddler seat. (I love—and wish all strollers offered—a non-disruptive panel that you can roll back to get a quick peek at baby while sleeping.) Also, not for nothing, but this stroller still looks brand-new after nine months of use. (I got it in a darker color—the Noa—but it's certainly worth noting.) The Specs and Safety Ratings You Need to Know Rachel Bowie The newest features of the Vista V3 include the enhanced FlexRide suspension, the all-weather toddler seat, the new magnetic buckle system and reflective trims of the wheels and under-carriage basket for added visibility while strolling. This stroller is also equipped to accommodate up to three children (the third older child can hop on and ride along thanks to UPPABaby's PiggyBack Ride-Along board, $180). In total, there are over 30 different configurations available While the bassinet is now sold separately, your infant can ride in the RumbleSeat from birth with the inclusion of the infant SnugSeat. Without the SnugSeat, this stroller is designed to be used for kids ages 3 months to 50 pounds. (The bassinet and the SnugSeat extend that life span to 0 months.) The basket can accommodate up to 30 pounds of storage and the stroller also features an easily adjustable handlebar to help accommodate parents of different heights. From a safety perspective, the Vista V3 is Green Guard-certified, which means it has been tested and evaluated above and beyond the government standards when it comes to chemical emissions limits. The leather used on the stroller is also REACH compliant certified for over 200+ chemicals. The Only Flaws About the UPPABaby Vista V3 My biggest gripe about the new model is a surprising one: The pedal lock sometimes gets stuck. This doesn't compromise safety—it mainly sticks when unlocking the stroller from a resting position, so I just have to press my foot on it an extra time. I do think it still is a bit cumbersome to open (you have to un-latch a tab on the side), which means that two hands are always required. The Vista V3 does stand upright on its own, but the footprint is still a bit large. That is countered by the sturdiness it provides, but you want to be sure you have space in the entryway—or your apartment hallway—even if it is fully closed up. Final Thoughts UppaBABY I love this stroller. It maneuvers well, it transports a ton, and it offers peak comfort and performance for baby and mom. The toddler seat can be adjusted to an impressive variety of angles to increase comfort; the UPF 50+ canopy provides ample shade; overall, it's an exceptional experience from start to finish. While the improvements may seem minor at first, the devil's in the details. I love the upgrades that have been made to the Vista design and stand behind them as worth the investment. (And I'm not the only one: The UppaBaby Vista V3 just won the Best Stroller award in PureWow's annual Happy Baby Awards for 2025.) $1200 at pottery barn kids $1200 at amazon Is the Doona Car Seat & Stroller Worth It? Here's My Honest Review

We also love that it's summer-friendly with an extendable UPF 50+ canopy to shield your little one from the sun and a removable mesh seat to help keep them cool. Our tester appreciated that the travel system can be used straight from birth without the need for a separate car seat or bassinet attachment—an ideal feature for those with limited storage space. They also found it to be a great option for taller parents, thanks to the extendable handlebar. The only potential downside is the relatively small seat, which may not accommodate your child through all toddler years, depending on how quickly they grow. Other helpful additions include the seat's Aeroflex foam that keeps your baby comfortable during extended periods of time, alongside a five-part harness and side-impact protection for added security. Weighing in at just seven pounds, it's lightweight and easy enough for parents to handle solo. This Nuna travel system doesn't go on sale often, especially at this low of a price. Tesco shoppers rush to buy pricey stroller parents ‘love' scanning for £119 off
TESCO shoppers are rushing to buy a pricey stroller scanning for £199 off. Eagle-eyed customers could not believe their luck after spotting a Joie Brisk LX Lightweight Umbrella Stroller scanning for just £51. 1 The deal was shared in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, with lots of shoppers praising the deal. One savvy customer said: "This is good." While another shopper said: "Crazy, I spent 170 on mine when it first came out." And a third customer added the stroller might be "worth it" for when they go on holiday. The pram comes with a water repellent canopy and a lie flat lounger so your little one can nap on the go. It can hold up to 22kg and is suitable from birth to children aged four years old. The product has received rave reviews from other parents who said they "loved" the pram. If you are keen to shop the product you will have to visit a Tesco store as the offer does not appear to be available online. It may be worth ringing your local branch ahead of time to check stock levels to avoid a wasted trip. You can find your nearest Tesco by visiting, Save with secret codes The pram is also available at Argos for £100 and Pram World has reduced the price of the product from £170 to £99.95. And that is not the only bargain that has been spotted at Tesco in recent weeks. Shoppers were stunned to see a £12 dupe for pricey Samsonite carry on suitcases. In comparison, a similar suitcase from Samsonite will set you back a whopping £295. HOW TO BAG A BARGAIN When hunting for a deal, it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being overcharged. There are plenty of comparison websites that will check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to. Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers. For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results. Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock. How to save money at Tesco EVERY little helps when it comes to saving money at Tesco. The Sun's Head of Consumer Tara Evans explains how you can save money at the UK's biggest supermarket. Clubcard points Tesco first launched it's loyalty scheme back in 1995. You get one point for every £1 you spend in store. If you spend points in store then 100 points is worth £1. You can spend your points via its reward partners and get triple and even sometimes quadruple the value. Extend Clubcard points You can find lost Clubvcard points and find the last two years of unused vouchers by logging into the Tesco Clubcard site. Clubcard prices If you don't have a Clubcard then you will miss out on its cheaper Clubcard prices. However, don't forget to check prices before you shop because it might not be cheaper than elsewhere, especially on big value items like washing powder and loo roll. Yellow stickers Shops do vary the time they reduce groceries with yellow stickers but Tesco tends to be between 7pm and 9pm. Save money if you shop online If you get your Tesco food shop delivered then it might be worth buying a delivery saver pass to help cut the cost of delivery fees. If you live near a Tesco then you can get click and collect slots of as little as 25p, so it might be cheaper than getting your food delivered.
