'The Boys' star Erin Moriarty and Black Noir cross over to 'Gen V' season 2 Comic-Con trailer, 'Wicked' star joins cast

Ethan Slater will play Thomas Godolkin, the scientist and founder of God U. The Boys and Gen V continue to feed each other. Erin Moriarty and (presumably) Nathan Mitchell, who portray the supes Starlight and Black Noir on the mothership Amazon drama, arrive on the college-set spinoff in a major way, as seen on the new Gen V season 2 Comic-Con trailer. Another big surprise sees Ethan Slater, who plays Boq in the Wicked and Wicked: For Good movies, join the cast as Thomas Godolkin, the scientist and founder of Godolkin University, making an appearance in flashbacks. This season, Jaz Sinclair's blood-bending Marie Moreau is on the run from Vought forces. When she's attacked by Dogknott, a supe first introduced on Gen V season 1 by way of actor Zach McGowan, Moriarty's Starlight comes in to save her. The new Gen V season clearly picks up after the events of The Boys season 4, which ended with Homelander (Antony Starr) taking over the U.S. government and his cronies "disappearing" members of the Boys. Starlight was able to escape by flying off. Now she has a plan to fight back, but she needs Marie to do so. Vought is resuming Project Odessa, which those who follow The Boys will remember is the top-secret initiative referenced in season 4. We don't know what it entails specifically beyond that it's a "high security project of the strictest confidence" and that, per the trailer, it was spearheaded by Thomas Godolkin. Starlight tells Marie, "I need you to stop it." So Marie re-enrolls at God U, pretending like everything is OK when really she's there to sniff out Project Odessa. Meanwhile, there's a new dean, Hamish Linklater's Cipher, who previously ran the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation facility where Marie, Emma (Lizze Broadway), Jordan (London Thor/Derek Luh), and Andre (Chance Perdomo) were being held captive at the end of Gen V season 1. Cipher has big plans to unlock the potential of his students by pushing them to their physical limits. He believes Marie "could be the most powerful supe to ever come out of Godolkin," even more powerful than Homelander. And maybe that's where this is all heading. The Boys mothership show is heading towards its fifth and final season, premiering next year, and so far, no one seems powerful enough to take down the dictator supe. Could Marie be the key? Michele Fazekas returns as showrunner, while the cast also includes Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Thomas has been bumped up to series regular in season 2. The first three episodes will premiere Sept. 17 on Amazon Prime Video. Watch the trailer above. Check out more of .
