Suspicious device forces evacuation, brings bomb squad to LAPD's Foothill Station
A suspicious device located outside of the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Station in Pacoima prompted evacuations and brought a bomb squad to the scene on Saturday afternoon. The discovery was made at around 2:30 p.m. outside of the station, which is located at 12760 Osborne Street, according to police. Both the station and the surrounding area were evacuated as bomb squad investigator surveyed the item. No further information was provided. This is a developing story. Check back for details.

Bedfordshire police recover suspicious device from town river
People have been asked to avoid an area after a suspicious device was recovered from a Police said it was called to The Embankment, in Bedford, to deal with the device.A spokesperson for the force said: "Rothsay Road is closed at the junction with Waterloo Road, and we would ask the public to please avoid the area whilst the incident is being dealt with."A 100m (328ft) cordon was put in place near to the war memorial while officers awaited a specialist team from the explosive ordnance disposal unit. Device resembling pipe bomb found in northern Manitoba dorm safely destroyed: RCMP
Cranberry Portage RCMP have safely destroyed a device that resembled a pipe bomb that was found on school grounds, according to a media release. On June 16 at 9:20 a.m., RCMP received a report of a suspicious device found in a school dorm room in Cranberry Portage, located about 600 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg. Sgt. Paul Manaigre, Manitoba RCMP media relations officer, confirmed to CTV News that the device was found within a box in a dorm at Frontier Collegiate. Staff members found the device while they were preparing for the return of students, who had been evacuated from the community due to wildfire danger since May 31. 'I guess the idea of the person who put this together, the idea was to make it kind of look like a pipe bomb,' said Manaigre. He said the device was determined to contain 'no explosive powders or anything that could have made it dangerous' after being examined by the RCMP explosives disposal unit, who safely destroyed the device. Manaigre said the investigation is still ongoing and that no criminal charges have been laid at this point. CTV News has reached out to Frontier Collegiate for comment. The RM of Kelsey previously announced that re-entry to Cranberry Portage would start on June 14.

Item resembling a pipe bomb found at northern Manitoba high school dorm
A device that looked like a pipe bomb was found Monday in a Cranberry Portage high school dorm room as staff prepared for the return of students to the evacuated community, RCMP say. On Monday morning around 9:20 a.m., Cranberry Portage RCMP received a report of a suspicious device found within a dorm room at the high school in the northern Manitoba community, which is about 40 kilometres southeast of Flin Flon, RCMP said in a news release. Staff members were preparing for the return of students, after the community was evacuated May 31 due to wildfires in the region, when they made the discovery. The device was described as a metal pipe with tape that resembled a pipe bomb, RCMP said. The RCMP explosives disposal unit examined the device and it was taken to a remote location and safely destroyed, police said.

Strabane: Homes in Evish Square evacuated in security alert
A number of homes have been evacuated in a security alert in Strabane, County Tyrone.A suspicious device was discovered at Evish Square shortly after 09:00 BST on Tuesday. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the main area affected is the junction of Mount Carmel Heights with Newtownkennedy Street, which is Sports complex is available for those who have had to leave their homes. Insp Robb said: "We understand the disruption and inconvenience this is causing, and we are working our way through this situation as quickly as possible. "However, public safety is of paramount importance and we appreciate the co-operation and patience from the public as we deal with this incident."
