15-year-old arrested after driving into cruisers: London police

A 15-year-old London driver has been charged after police saw a suspicious vehicle early Monday morning in the north end of the city. An officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed with no lights on through a parking lot in the area of Fanshawe Park Road West and Richmond Street, shortly after 4 a.m. Police say the vehicle pulled onto Fanshawe Park Road East where it continued at a high rate of speed and did not turn on the lights for the vehicle. The officer activated the police vehicles emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle when the driver fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police did not pursue the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle a short time later on the side of the road in the area of Wintergarden Road and Cobblestone Street. Police say the driver, in an effort to flee police rammed two police vehicles before being arrested. No injuries were reported. As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male of London, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with the following offences: Fail to stop for police/pursuit; Take motor vehicle without consent; Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; Careless driving; and, Drive motor vehicle no license. The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on Aug. 11, 2025, in relation to the charges.
