Critics hated Les Miserables. Cameron Mackintosh trusted the public
Critics hated Les Miserables when the musical debuted 40 years ago – its producer, Cameron Mackintosh, remembers one called it 'the Glums' – yet over the next month it will play to 300,000 people in Australia.
