Police probing burnt-out sports car following dramatic fatal shooting at pub in Forest Lodge in Sydney's inner west
A suspicious sports car fire is at the centre of a police investigation into a fatal shooting outside an inner-west Sydney pub over the weekend, with police probing all possible links to the dramatic incident that left one man dead.
Firefighters extinguished the fire on Primrose Avenue, Rydalmere in Sydney's west about 9.50pm on Monday, with police now treating the blaze as suspicious, a NSW Police statement said.
The are no reported injuries as a result of the fire.
It follows a dramatic public shooting outside a pub in Forest Lodge in the city's inner west on Sunday evening, during which one man died and another was seriously injured.
Gilbert Shino, 39, has been named as the man was killed, with his friend Maradona Yalda, 31, identified as the man who survived.
Mr Yalda is in a stable condition following two surgeries.
The survivor reportedly has links to Assyrian street gang DLASTHR - otherwise known as 'the last hour' - and is known to former Comanchero member Andre Kallita.
The two men had been shot multiple times, with police believing the bullets were fired by unknown people who fled the scene in a car.
The burnt-out car discovered in Rydalmere is a Ford Mustang that matches the description of a vehicle spotted near Sunday's shooting, The Daily Telegraph has reported.
NSW Police have said "any links to recent incidents will be examined" as part of the probe into the car fire.
However, no links have been confirmed at this stage, the statement said.
Police are urging anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage relating to the blaze to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000.
A major police probe was launched following the shooting in Forest Lodge, with patrons of The Harold Park Hotel reportedly taking cover under tables for a short time after shots were fired.
A crime scene was set up and detectives launched an investigation involving the Homicide Squad.
Police are seeking to identify a dark blue Ford Mustang spotted in the vicinity of the pub after the incident.
NSW Police confirmed on Tuesday morning that no arrests have yet been made in relation to the shooting and inquiries remain ongoing.
