Camilla Luddington Shares Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Diagnosis

The Grey's Anatomy star shared that she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, explaining that the autoimmune disease—which causes low levels of thyroid hormone in your body, per the Cleveland Clinic—is in part responsible for how tired she felt all the time. 'As long as you've been listening to us, you've known that I joke about being slothy,' Camilla explained on her iHeartRadio Call It What It Is podcast Aug. 6. 'Slower, tired. Wanna be in bed. Love a nap.' And while the 41-year-old plays a doctor on TV alongside her podcast cohost Jessica Capshaw, it never occurred that there could be a medical reason for her constant exhaustion. But when she went in for her yearly bloodwork to 'make sure everything is good,' the doctors gave her the diagnosis. 'My doctor was like, 'Everything looks great except this one little thing,' Camilla recalled. 'And I remember hearing the words 'autoimmune disease' and thinking, 'What the f—k.' And then being told that I had something called Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and that it was very common.' More from E! 'I felt like I had the answer for something that I've been knowing is going on,' the podcaster continued. 'And I have health anxiety, so there was a part of me that was like, 'Am I gaslighting myself?'' For now, Camilla is taking the necessary medication and hopes to start feeling normal again soon. 'I'm on the road to recovery,' she shared. 'It's going to be a journey.' Jessica took a page from Finding Nemo, joking that Camilla was going to 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming.' As for why Camilla wanted to share her diagnosis? She explained the goal of their podcast was always to be as open and honest as they could be with their listeners. 'We set out to share all the things in the hopes that sharing our stories might resonate with somebody else,' she added, 'or make somebody feel a little less alone in their experience.' MAFS star Domenica Calarco appears in good health after falling seriously ill during her pregnancy as she flaunts her baby bump in skin-tight frock
Domenica Calarco was fighting fit as she stepped out in Sydney 's Paddington on Wednesday. The Married At First Sight star stepped out to visit a local hairdresser alongside her mother. The 31-year-old appeared relaxed and happy as she strolled along the street while snapping selfies of her freshly done hair. She also had on a full face of glamorous makeup in peachy tones, with heavy blush and warm eye shadow. The former reality star completed her look with a beige jacket with exaggerated, puffed sleeves and a pair of designer flats in black leather. The star revealed that she has been hospitalised due to illness while pregnant with her first child. She told her fans in a Q&A session on Instagram Stories that she's made two trips to hospital due to thyroiditis. 'Ended up in hospital twice over my first trimester for fluids and to monitor bub when my thyroiditis was at its peak!' she wrote. Dom also shared that she had lost six kilos since falling pregnant due to the illness and was 'scared of being judged for that'. 'I lost six kilos and feel like a shell of myself right now, so trying to put on weight and eat as much as I can while I still don't really have an appetite. It's a journey' she said. Thyroiditis is a condition causing thyroid gland inflammation, often caused by the autoimmune disease Hashimoto's. Dom recently confirmed she will be a solo parent, days after announcing her pregnancy. The former reality TV star has split from her boyfriend Jarod Bogunovich, and deleted all traces of the Bondi skater from her social media. Domenica exclusively confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that she will be raising her child as a single mum, as she addressed the break up rumours. 'I am incredibly excited about this next chapter in my life and feel truly empowered by my decision to step into motherhood on my own terms,' she said. 'While I will be welcoming this baby as a solo parent, I am grateful to have the support of the father in a co-parenting capacity.' Domenica, who rose to fame in 2022 on season nine of the hit series, said she is embracing this journey 'wholeheartedly'. 'Been a little MIA working on my greatest project the MAFS alum captioned her pregnancy announcement post. She added: 'Due September 2025.' Domenica is asking her fans to respect her privacy, as she explains that she is 'proud' that she has made 'the best decision' for herself, and her unborn child. 'This journey is one that I embrace wholeheartedly, with all its highs and lows, and I am beyond proud to be stepping into this role [as a single mum] with strength, love, and a deep sense of purpose,' she said. 'I also want to acknowledge and support others who choose to embark on parenthood alone - there is so much power in making the best decision for yourself and your child.' Domenica and Jarod met on Bumble in 2021, and she went on a date with him before she was cast on Australia's ratings bonanza television show.
