34-Year-Old Father of 4 Dies in Tire Explosion: 'A Devoted Husband, Loving Father, Cherished Son'

His father suffered unspecified injuries to his face and was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.A 34-year-old man died after the tire he was working on exploded in Wabasha County, Minn. on Tuesday, June 24, the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office said.
Joshua Moechnig Jr. was killed during a farming accident in "rural Lake City," the sheriff's office said in a statement. He died at the scene. His father, Joshua Moechnig Sr., was injured and sustained unspecified injuries to his face. Joshua Sr. was transported to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
"Our sympathies go out to the Moeching family," the news release continued.
Following the accident, a GoFundMe page was created to help raise money to cover the unexpected expenses for Joshua Jr.'s family with 'immediate and ongoing needs.'
Joshua Jr. and his wife Heather shared four children, including a 1-month-old newborn baby.
'Josh was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, friend, and hardworking farmer,' the GoFundMe description read. 'Josh was more than a provider. He was a man of deep faith, integrity, and love.'
'He and Heather built a life rooted in faith, family, and farming. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of many, but his legacy of love and strength lives on in his children and all who knew him.'

A representative for the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for more information on Thursday.
