His father suffered unspecified injuries to his face and was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.A 34-year-old man died after the tire he was working on exploded in Wabasha County, Minn. on Tuesday, June 24, the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office said.
Joshua Moechnig Jr. was killed during a farming accident in "rural Lake City," the sheriff's office said in a statement. He died at the scene. His father, Joshua Moechnig Sr., was injured and sustained unspecified injuries to his face. Joshua Sr. was transported to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
"Our sympathies go out to the Moeching family," the news release continued.
Following the accident, a GoFundMe page was created to help raise money to cover the unexpected expenses for Joshua Jr.'s family with 'immediate and ongoing needs.'
Joshua Jr. and his wife Heather shared four children, including a 1-month-old newborn baby.
'Josh was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, friend, and hardworking farmer,' the GoFundMe description read. 'Josh was more than a provider. He was a man of deep faith, integrity, and love.'
'He and Heather built a life rooted in faith, family, and farming. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of many, but his legacy of love and strength lives on in his children and all who knew him.'

A representative for the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for more information on Thursday.

A heartfelt tribute from her 'best mate', Cole, read: "RIP Casey you'll be missed so much. Can't believe you left us so early, you're flying with the angels now, fly high, love you lots my thunder buddie in the sky." Her aunt, Dani, expressed her sorrow, saying she missed her "so much" and that she would remain "Forever 13". Paula Mills wrote: "Fly high with the angels beautiful girl. I hope there's an amazing afterlife waiting for you where all your hopes and dreams come true." Another person wrote: "You've left a massive hole in the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing you. Sweet dreams Casey, you'll be sadly missed xx." Casey-Louise attended Mossley Hollins High School in Tameside, with a statement released this week paying tribute to her as "bright, full of character, always full of life, and never afraid to be herself. "She was funny, sweet, had a smile that could brighten anyone's day and will be deeply missed by our school community", the statement continued. Students will receive support when lessons resume in September. A GoFundMe appeal has been launched to assist her family and contribute towards funeral expenses. In their most recent statement, DCI Stacey Atkinson, from West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "We are continuing to conduct a number of enquiries following the death of a 13-year-old girl following an incident at a flat on Sheepridge Road. "A post-mortem was not able to determine how she died and we continue to treat her death as unexplained at this time, pending more enquiries. "Those enquiries are complex and are likely to be lengthy as we work to fully understand the circumstances of the girl's death. Specially trained officers are supporting her family at this time." Parents of girls lost in Texas camp flooding say ‘common sense' safety measures were absent as lawmakers consider legislation
Michael McCown sent his 8-year-old daughter Linnie to a summer camp in central Texas trusting she would be safe. But that trust was tragically broken when Linnie and at least 26 other campers and counselors were killed after a catastrophic flood swept through Camp Mystic on July 4. On Wednesday, McCown and several other parents sat before a Texas state Senate committee and called for stronger safety standards at youth camps in Texas. 'We did not send Linnie to a war zone; we sent her to camp,' said McGown, who remembered his daughter for her gentle, playful manner. 'No parent should ever go through what we are living through now.' Parents of several children who were at Camp Mystic, a nearly century-old camp for girls which largely sits in a flood-prone area, testified at the Texas Capitol on Senate Bill1, which aims to improve safety for youth camps across the state. It was the first time many of the parents spoke publicly about the death of their children and the lack of sufficient safety measures to prevent their deaths. Among the bill's provisions are a requirement for camps to have emergency rooftop ladders in every cabin in the floodplain and flash flood evacuation plans. It also seeks to create a line of succession for local officials in the event they are absent when disaster strikes and to streamline how the justice of peace reports deaths. 'I told her camp was the safest place she could be and she would make new friends and learn new things. I lied to her. She not only wasn't safe, she died,' said Carrie Hanna, mother of 8-year-old Hadley Hanna. CNN has reached out to Camp Mystic for comment. At the hearing, parents shared stories of their children and their grief, and expressed support for the bill with many of them saying it would prevent future camp families from their children dying in a flood. ‘Beloved' 18-year-old shot dead at house party, NM officials say. Man sentenced
A man has been sentenced to prison in connection to the 2022 shooting that left a 'beloved' 18-year-old dead, New Mexico officials said. In December 2022, now-21-year-old Jesse Parra showed up uninvited to an Albuquerque house party with Cruz Medina, Isaiah Espinosa and Jesse Barrios after learning about it on social media, according to an Aug. 19 Facebook post by the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office. After they were asked to leave because they were taking photos with guns, they returned and began shooting, officials said. Parra drove the car during the shooting, 'maneuvering the vehicle so the two shooters could fire at the home and flee the scene,' officials said. An 18-year-old, later identified as Jada Gonzales, was fatally shot in the stomach, officials said. Gonzales had plans to attend Texas Christian University and was an 'exemplary student' who worked two jobs, a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral expenses said. 'This is the greatest pain I've ever known and not one I'd wish any parent to ever feel,' the GoFundMe page said. Medina, then 16, was sentenced to 24 years in prison, officials said. Espinosa, 16 at the time and the one accused of firing the shot that killed Gonzales, was sentenced to 29 years in prison, prosecutors said. Barrios, then 18, 'recorded the crime on his phone and was taken into ICE custody,' prosecutors said. In April, Parra pleaded guilty to charges of shooting at a dwelling or occupied building resulting in death, conspiracy to commit shooting at a dwelling or occupied building resulting in death and tampering with evidence, officials said. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, officials said. 'Jada Brooke Gonzales touched many lives and hearts and we are all devastated by this loss,' the GoFundMe page said.
