NFL Top 100: See where Philadelphia Eagles rank on the 2025 list
Coming off a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles have no shortage of talent. That means the Birds likely will have plenty of players represented on the 2025 NFL top 100, an annual list that ranks the top players in the league. The NFL has begun releasing the names as the 2025 season approaches with the Eagles set to kick off this year's opener against the Dallas Cowboys. While the list is not yet complete, Philly has already had numerous players named with the likes of quarterback Jalen Hurts and others likely to be added. Beginning on June 30, the NFL counts down the top 100 by naming 10 players each week. The top 10 will be announced on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET live on NFL Network. Here are the Eagles on the NFL Top 100 list so far: NFL Top 100: Which Eagles made the list? No. 29: A.J. Brown Brown, the Eagles top wide receiver, is the latest Bird to join the list after leading the team with 1,079 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games last season. Brown finished tied for the league-lead in 100-plus receiving yard games despite missing four contests last year. The receiver capped off his season with a touchdown to put the Eagles up 24-0 just before halftime of Super Bowl 59. In 2024, Brown was ranked 21st on the NFL Top 100 list. A.J. Brown injury update: What it means for opener as Eagles trade for Texans John Metchie. Eagles 53-man roster projection: After trade, these WRs should worry. Is 3rd QB on roster? No. 43: Jalen Carter The Eagles young star defensive tackle made the list after finishing last year with 4.5 sacks and a team-high 45 pressures, earning him second-team All-Pro honors in just his second season. At 23 years old, he also became the youngest defensive tackle to make the Pro Bowl in franchise history. His most memorable highlight was his sack against Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford with 1:14 left in the NFC Divisional round, securing the win. In the game, Carter had two sacks, two passes defensed and a forced fumble. No. 49: Quinyon Mitchell What a year for the rookie cornerback out of Toledo, who proved to be a lock-down defensive back for the Birds from Week 1 on. The No. 22 overall pick finished second in AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting while finishing with 12 passes defended in 16 games started. He was third in the NFL in forced incompletions (15) and third among all cornerbacks in yards allowed per coverage snap (0.8). In the postseason, Mitchell had four passes defended and two interceptions to ice playoff victories. No. 60: Cooper DeJean The rookie defensive back out of Iowa capped off his stellar season with one of the most memorable plays in Eagles' history — a 38-yard pick six against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl. The nickel back finished fourth in AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting despite missing time in training camp due to injuries. After being inserted into the starting lineup, DeJean helped transform the Eagles into one of the best defenses in the NFL. The 40th overall pick in the 2024 draft showed his toughest all season, including in his huge hit Week 14 hit on Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry. No. 69: Jordan Mailata The left tackle has gone from an unknown 7th round pick from Australia to one of the best all-around lineman in the league. The former rugby player was named second-team All-Pro in 2024, leading the NFL in Pro Football Focus offensive grade (96.9). Mailata, along with his fellow lineman, paved the way for an Eagles' rushing attack that set the NFL record with 3,866 yards in the regular and postseason. He also helped running back Saquon Barkley become just the ninth player in NFL history to reach 2,000 rushing yards. "It's all metrics, it has nothing to do with our feelings" - Gilbert Arenas on Steph Curry ranking higher than Kobe Bryant in the top 100 list
"It's all metrics, it has nothing to do with our feelings" - Gilbert Arenas on Steph Curry ranking higher than Kobe Bryant in the top 100 list originally appeared on Basketball Network. When Bleacher Report recently unveiled its list of the top 100 players in NBA history, fans across the basketball world were stunned by what many viewed as blatant disrespect towards Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba was ranked just outside the top 10, landing at No. 11, one spot behind Stephen Curry. While the majority of fans consider Kobe to be a better all-around player, a bigger inspiration, a more idolized figure and a more accomplished legend than Steph, Gilbert Arenas wasn't surprised by the ranking. In fact, he explained why fans should question the metrics used for such rankings instead of doubting the greatness of any player placed above KB24. Gil reacts to Steph being placed ahead of Kobe in the Top 100 list Aside from the fact that Kobe has more championships (five to Curry's four) and one more Finals MVP, he also boasts seven additional All-Star selections, two more All-Star Game MVPs and four more All-NBA selections than Steph. Kob' ranks fourth in total points (including the postseason and regular season), is tied for second in total All-NBA selections. The late Laker legend is also third in overall All-Star nods and third in 40-point games. Such stats reinforce the depth of his resume and why fans often hold him highly in the GOAT conversation. Although many argue that Bryant was the second coming of Michael Jordan, while Curry revolutionized the modern game with his 3-point shooting, Arenas pointed out that the latter's higher placement in the rankings is clearly based on modern metrics. Fans shouldn't let that influence their personal views or emotional connection to either player. "It's easier if you follow the same metrics that I follow. MVP? You get 1000 points. Scoring title? You get 900 (points). First Team All-Offense? You get 800 (points)," Arenas said. "Then, you kinda see how they came up with it. Hence why, last month, because of the metric, I said when the new list comes out, I said Kobe fans and Curry fans… not real Kobe fans. But Kobe-Kobe fans. It's two different people… Kobe-Kobe fans and Curry fans are about to be at war because I looked at the criteria, I'm counting Steph's points, and I'm like, 'Ah! S–t!' It's all metrics, man, it has nothing to do with our feelings," the retired guard Kobe have been ahead of Steph? If the argument against Kobe's ranking is based on the idea that he won three of his titles as a sidekick to Shaquille O'Neal, then it is only fair to bring up that Steph's championship path was significantly boosted by the presence of Kevin Durant. Without KD joining the Golden State Warriors, there's no guarantee that Steph would have secured the 2017 and 2018 titles, especially after how the Cleveland Cavaliers stole the title from his grasp a year before. Even when the Warriors did win, it was Durant who earned Finals MVP honors both times. Nevertheless, while debates and narratives can be shaped to support either side, whether one thinks Kobe should be higher or Steph deserves the edge, the truth is that both players are not just among the most accomplished in NBA history, but also among the most influential. They have each inspired generations with their game and drawn millions of fans towards the story was originally reported by Basketball Network on Jul 16, 2025, where it first appeared.
