N.S. man charged for allegedly trying to destroy occupied home with tractor
A Nova Scotia man is facing charges, including mischief causing danger to life, following an incident in Lunenburg County Sunday evening.
The RCMP responded to a report of a tractor ramming into an occupied home in the 4300 block of Cornwall Road in Union Square around 9:10 p.m.
Police say officers saw a man actively destroying the home with a large farm vehicle.
The person inside the home knew the suspect and did not report any injuries.
Sheldon Rex MacKay of New Germany was arrested at the scene.
The 55-year-old has been charged with:
mischief causing danger to life
mischief
dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
failure to comply with undertaking
MacKay was remanded into custody. He appeared in Bridgewater provincial court on Monday and was released on conditions.
