'Unavoidable' lane closure on key Middlesbrough route for emergency road repairs
People should expect delays as part of a major road into Middleborough will be closed following "water damage".
A lane has been closed Ladgate Lane, a key route into the town, follows possible water damage to the carriageway. The westbound lane will now be closed from just before the railway bridge at Marton Railway Station through to the junction with Marton Avenue.
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation while the repair work is carried out. Middlesbrough Council has not said how long it will take to complete the emergency repair works.

A Middlesbrough Council spokesman said: 'This sort of damage is part of the general wear and tear that affects parts of the road network from time to time, and unfortunately a temporary lane closure is unavoidable to ensure the necessary repair can be undertaken safely.
'As ever we are grateful to the travelling public for their patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience.'
