"I'm very bad at picking up on signals," said Mr Boyles. "Susan had been talking to me on the till but I didn't think it was anything at first."The 24-year-old begun volunteering in 2017 before meeting his wife-to-be, 43, in relationship grew after the pair went to watch the Barbie movie at the cinema together. Just one year later, the 24-year-old got down on one knee and proposed to her inside the shop. "I knew he was going to propose but I didn't know when or where, so it was a surprise," Mrs Boyles said."I could never have imagined meeting James when I first started volunteering for Oxfam. "It's like a dream come true."The bride added that she had found the experience worthwhile due to meeting so many people. "I have never met anyone unpleasant volunteering with Oxfam," she said. "It sounds corny but it really is like a little family and it's so rewarding. Oxfam, which was founded in 1942, currently has 23,000 volunteers at 560 shops in the UK. Karen Gurney, volunteer development manager at the charity, said she hoped the story would encourage others to help it raise funds to tackle poverty. "There are so many reasons why people come to volunteer, whether it is to gain skills, make friends or give back to the community," she said. "But the real joy with volunteering is that there is so much you can get out of it, even things you might never expect." Volunteers' Week 2025 began on Monday. Barbie Hsu's statue to be erected on first year anniversary of her passing

22 May - Barbie Hsu's mother Huang Chun-mei recently revealed that a statue of the late actress is expected to be completed on the anniversary of her death next year. In an interaction with netizens recently, Madam Huang shared that her son-in-law DJ Koo Jun-yup was the one who designed the statue, saying, "The design was made by Oppa [Koo]. Every sketch is beautiful. He's tanned because he spends so much time with Xiyuan." "Oppa is truly loyal and affectionate. What more could one ask for in life? This is true love," she added. When a netizen mentioned that Koo seemed much thinner in the family photo she shared, Madam Huang said that the Korean entertainer would often go to Chin Pao San cemetery to accompany his wife, which has also made his skin tone even darker due to the sun. She also added that she too would go to the cemetery whenever she misses Barbie, saying that the late actress was one of her ribs who was always supporting her. Justin Bieber Makes Statement About True Love

Justin Bieber has had quite a different life from most people. By age 15, he was one of the most famous pop stars on the entire planet and has since lived the vast majority of his life in the spotlight. And it sounds like it hasn't always been easy. In a post to his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon, Bieber shared some telling comments about what he has learned about "true love" over the years and how some well-intentioned comments in the past were actually unhelpful to him and made him feel "exhausted." "People telling me I deserved things," Bieber wrote in a post on his Instagram story, "made me exhausted from trying to prove I was worthy at times." "[It] also made me feel more entitled at times," he added. "This language isn't helpful," Bieber wrote. "It either makes us feel not good enough or that we're owed something. "True love is freely given with no expectation," he concluded. Bieber has been rather candid in sharing his thoughts on social media lately. Just a few weeks ago, Bieber took to social media to call out the "gossip" and "lies" that have been spread about him by fans and media. "They treat me like [expletive] out here, but I remember that I am flawed and God forgave me," Justin wrote on his Instagram story on April 24. "It helps me to stop feeling better than those who are mean and hurtful because when I'm really honest, I can be mean and hurtful too." "My instinct is to be like, 'Damn I wouldn't gossip and spread lies about someone on the internet,'" he continued, "But there's other [stuff] I do I'm not proud of." Bieber also shut down any and all speculation about his relationship with his wife, Hailey. "Honestly if I was u, it would be hard not to be jealous of me and Hailey going brazzzzyy," Bieber wrote. "It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it." "It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it. I don't blame em. Hailey and I are the Jones's that are impossible to keep up with," he concluded. While Hailey attended Monday night's Met Gala, Justin was not in attendance as he played golf and watched the Toronto Maple Leafs game instead. However, he was still sure to show his support for Hailey on social media.
