Police probe 'unexplained' death after body found in Moss Side alleyway

A body has been found on an alleyway in Manchester. The death of the 'deceased male' is 'currently unexplained', according to police. Greater Manchester Police are investigating after being called to the scene on Wednesday morning. It comes after the alley which runs behind Great Western Street in Moss Side was cordoned off. Images from the scene show a blue forensic tent in place at one part of the alley. Multiple police officers are also in attendance at the scene. Sign up to the MEN Court newsletter here The police cordon, and investigation, is currently centred around the alleyway between Great Western Street and Albermarle Street. A GMP spokesperson said: "This morning (Wednesday 6 August 2025) we were called to Great Western Street, Moss Side, where we found a deceased male at the scene. "We are working to identify him and the circumstances which led to his death, which is currently unexplained. "There are officers in the area conducting inquiries including extensive house to house and CCTV. "Formal identification has still to take place, however, the family of Michelle Wade, missing from Kilmarnock, has been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."

Body of woman in her 50s found in popular park opposite lake as cops probe ‘unexplained' death

THE BODY of a woman in her 50s has been found in a popular park and is being treated as "unexplained" by police as investigations continue. A cordon was put in place this morning after the body of a woman was found at Poole Park, Dorset. 3 3 3 Dorset Police were called at 8.29am to reports that a woman had been discovered in the area. A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers attended and following enquiries, her death is currently being treated as unexplained. "Her family has been informed and the coroner has been notified. "Our thoughts are with the woman's family and friends at this very difficult time. "A cordon remains in place at the scene and there will be an increased police presence in the area as police activities continue." A white forensics tent was set up within the cordon as forensic teams from South West Police were sent to the scene. Police also put up a covering over nearby bushes to protect the scene during the investigation.
