Boil water advisory issued for part of Longueuil after water main break
A water main break has forced a boil water advisory on Thursday morning for the Bord-de-l'Eau Est sector in Longueuil's Vieux-Longueuil borough.
The breakage requires 'urgent work,' according to the city's website.
People living in the area are asked to boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it.
Additionally, a second water main break has caused Jacques-Cartier Boulevard Est to be closed in both directions between Jean-Paul-Vincent Boulevard and du Tremblay Road for an undetermined period of time.
People are being asked to avoid the area.
To find out if your home is in the affected sector, you can type in your address on this map or call 311.
The boil water advisory is slated to remain in effect for at least 24 hours.
An update on the situation is expected Thursday night.
