Barn full of dust-covered motors including Jaguars, rare MG & iconic 90s sports car hit market for eye-watering sum

RUST TO RUST For something unique, there's even a retro motorhome that's ready to be fixed up before it takes on new adventures CLASSIC car enthusiasts are in for a rare opportunity as a treasure trove of dust-covered vehicles including Jaguars, rare MGs and other iconic motors hidden away in a barn for decades, are set to go under the hammer. A lifetime collection of classic cars, motorbikes, spare parts and tools belonging to a professional mechanic is to be auctioned off next month - with some of them expected to sell for up to £80,000. 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 Among the collection, which is to be sold by auction house Charterhouse Auctioneers, is six MGAs, including a seldom-seen MGA Coupe Twin Cam - described as a rare find that needs a complete restoration after 30 years in storage. Other standout models include a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, once described by rival Enzo Ferrari as 'the most beautiful car ever made', as well as an 1956 Jaguar XK140 Roadster, Austin-Healey Lenham 100-4 and, bizarrely, a 2003 VW Golf R32. Jaguar enthusiasts will also find three Mk II 3.8 MOD saloon cars, all complete but covered in dust after years of storage. Other highlights include an Austin Healey 3000, owned since 1969 with high-standard bodywork needing finishing. Fans of iconic sports cars may also fancy a bid on a 1972 Lotus Elan S4, a project car owned for 35 years, or a 1975 Triumph Stag, last driven into storage nearly 20 years ago. For something unique, there's even a 1984 Talbot Auto-Trail Apache Motorhome, ready to be fixed up before it embarks on new adventures. The auction, set to take place on Wednesday, September 10, at the Charterhouse Long Street Salerooms in Sherborne, Dorset, will come after an official viewing to be held at the property near Dorchester on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9. The collection in total includes over 20 vehicles, two motorbikes and an extensive assortment of spare parts and restoration tools. The listing describes the vehicles as ranging from rare, complete originals to partially restored cars and those needing full restoration. Those keen to kid can turn up, register and bid at the auction salerooms, or name their price over the telephone, which is an available option for those unable to attend. £50m supercar collection for sale after icon's death - including rare classic Online bidding is also available for those participating remotely. A Charterhouse spokesperson said: "The owner, who is no longer able to look after and continue to restore his beloved vehicles, is offering his cars, spares, workshop and other tools, in the Charterhouse auction on Wednesday, September 10, with plenty of projects to choose from." This comes as a luxury Range Rover once driven by the late Queen Elizabeth II is set to go under the hammer – complete with its royal mascot and bespoke security features. The 2006 L322 model was exclusively used by Her Majesty between 2006 and 2008. And it's expected to fetch up to £70,000 when it goes on sale at the Silverstone Festival on August 23. The monarch famously took the wheel at events including the 2007 Royal Windsor Horse Show, with the vehicle specially kitted out for royal duties. It boasts enhanced internal wiring for security and communications, bespoke side steps, mud flaps, and even a made-to-measure dog guard – a nod to the Queen's lifelong love of dogs.

Retro 111-year-old Ford which starred in THREE iconic TV series hits the market for surprisingly cheap sum

A RETRO 111-year-old Ford which starred in three iconic TV series has hit the market for a surprisingly cheap sum. The classic motor has featured in both Downton Abbey and Peaky Blinders and has starred on the big screen too. 1 The Model T was Henry Ford 's first "mass produced" motor with this particular example made in 1914, just months before the start of World War One. And it has emerged for sale for just £20,000. After being shipped to Britain in 1983, it was bought from a Ford dealership showroom 14 years ago. Since then, the classic motor has starred in several period dramas including Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders and Mr Selfridge. It's also made an appearance on the big screen including the films Lady Chatterley's Lover and 1917. The black vehicle has a 2890cc side-valve four-cylinder engine and it can reach a top speed of 45mph. Between 1908 and 1927, over 15 million Model Ts were built and sold. Over half of the world's registered cars were Fords by the early 1920s. And because of this mass production, they were on the market for as little as $260 by 1925. Henry Ford said of their popularity at the time: "There's no use trying to pass a Ford, because there's always another one just ahead.' Ford is forced to immediately shut down factories and halt car production as CEO admits 'day to day' struggle for brand The car is set to go under the hammer at auctioneers Historics, of Iver, Buckinghamshire, for between £15,000 and £20,000. John Tomlin, a specialist at Historics, said: 'The Ford Model T is such an important landmark in the history of personal mobility. "With 15 million produced in 19 years, the figures speak for themselves. "We are delighted to be offering this wonderfully collectable example with its excellent film and TV star credentials, and at a very inviting estimate.' Those looking to get their hands on this motor can do so on July 19 when the sale takes place. But if a £20,000 Model T isn't quite within your budget, The Sun has recently revealed the top 10 classic cars to buy for under £3,000. And classic car fans will be excited to see Top Gear's top picks of bargain motors currently up for grabs. We've also looked at ten family car favourites from the 70s to the 90s that still have value in 2025. This includes a Ford Escort Mk2 that's worth thousands. To this day, there's still a lot to admire about the Escort, particularly with the Fast Ford racing and performance versions.

The military-style Jeep and trailer that alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann used for duck hunting is now being sold on eBay. The 1972 military utility tactical truck and 1963 trailer are being auctioned, with bids reaching $9,100 as of Friday. According to the description, the M151 A2 model is one of the last of its kind from Indiana-based automotive manufacturer AM General Corp., with only 52,256 miles on the clock. The vintage vehicle also comes with the original registration documents signed by Heuermann and is described in the listing as 'an ideal choice for collectors and individuals looking for a historical value that is sure to be a real tell-tale, whether you are a 'Jeep buff' or 'military brat.' Nearly 30 photos of the Jeep's interior, exterior, and trailer - taken from various angles and in close-up - were posted on eBay. The original ad was posted early Tuesday morning and revealed Heuermann as the owner. However, nearly eight hours later, the post was taken down. A family representative, who is selling the Jeep anonymously, told the Daily Mail that they had to revise the ad to comply with eBay's guidelines, and it was back online by 6 a.m. Wednesday. 'I used his name. They [eBay] said it violates their violence policy. I said, 'For what? He is an alleged criminal - alleged - he has not been convicted.' I didn't think I had violated anything,' the representative said. They added: 'I revised it by writing 'RH.' The family spokesperson expressed hope that omitting Heuermann's full name would not reduce public interest. According to the site's policy: 'Listings that promote or glorify violence or violent acts, or are associated with individuals notorious for committing violent acts, are not allowed.' The family spokesperson confirmed that all proceeds from the sale would go to Heuermann's ex-wife, Asa Ellerup. Ellerup was married to the alleged killer for 27 years. The couple, who raised two children together, lived in the Massapequa Park home that had once belonged to Heuermann's family. Their divorce was finalized in April. David Adamovich, a specialist in serial killer collectibles, who is not involved in the sale, told Daily Mail that the book value based on a military collectible site estimated the Jeep to be worth around $16,700. He believes this value will jump even more if Heuermann is convicted. 'The moment he confesses or is convicted an additional premium would be added to it,' Adamovich said. The description of the Jeep listed on eBay that posted early Tuesday morning The family spokesperson said all the proceeds from the sale would go to Heuermann's ex-wife Asa Ellerup. Asa is seen above outside an April court hearing The Jeep in question is reportedly not connected to the seven murders for which Heuermann has already been charged. The murders span nearly three decades, dating back to 1993. 'We know that police seized the vehicle from his home and conducted an extensive analysis to determine whether it had any links to the crimes,' said Adamovich. 'If it had been tied to any of the murders, authorities would have certainly retained it as evidence for the trial.' In contrast, police have impounded Heuermann's Chevrolet Avalanche, which has not been returned. This has fueled speculation that the vehicle may be connected to the case, Adamovich added. According to the online auction listing, the Jeep includes both a hard top and a soft top, as well as hard and soft doors. Additional parts are stored in boxes in the accompanying trailer. The listing notes that the 'Jeep and trailer ride well' and touts the 1972 vehicle's 'nostalgic experience,' suggesting it's 'certain to turn heads with its classic design and interesting history.' It concludes with, 'Don't get outbid on this one.' As of Friday, 14 bids had been placed. The auction is scheduled to end on July 9. At the time of his arrest Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney called Heuermann an 'ongoing danger' and pleaded with the judge not to allow him bail. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in custody at a correctional facility in Suffolk County, Long Island.
