New Walk and Talk sessions at Needham Lake
New walk and talk sessions are set to begin at Needham Lake.
The sessions are led by Everyone Active, which runs Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and Stradbroke Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre in partnership with Mid Suffolk District Council, and are aimed at beginners.
They will take place fortnightly, starting on Monday, July 28, from 10am to 11am, alternating with the existing sessions at Chilton Fields in Stowmarket.
The initiative has been funded for its first six months with a £900 grant from Mid Suffolk District Council's locality budget.
Anselm Gurney, partnership manager at Everyone Active, said: "We are delighted to be launching this new activity out in the community to help people of all ages stay active.
"Walk and Talk is all about meeting new people and doing some gentle exercise at the same time."
Dr Ross Piper, councillor for Mid Suffolk District Council, added: "This is a superb initiative to support outdoor activity among Mid Suffolk residents."
There is no need to book in advance, and first-timers are advised to arrive 10 minutes early to complete a registration form.
