UK's Pentair raises annual profit forecast on favorable market trends
July 22 (Reuters) - Water technology firm Pentair (PNT.F), opens new tab on Tuesday raised its adjusted profit forecast for the full year, citing its optimism over capitalizing on growing demand for water solutions and aging infrastructure across commercial and municipal sectors. The company now expects 2025 adjusted earnings between $4.75 and $4.85 per share, up from its previous view of $4.65 to $4.80 per share, versus analysts' estimate of $4.76 per share, according to data compiled by LSEG. "We are well positioned to capture opportunities from favorable secular trends in water availability, increased awareness of water challenges, aging commercial, public and municipal infrastructure, outdoor healthy living and favorable housing migration," CEO John Stauch said. Stauch added that the company is ready to capture higher demand once the residential market returns to growth. The UK-based company provides residential and industrial water technology products and services across 150 countries. It operates through three segments – Industrial & Flow Technologies, Water Solutions, and Pool. Pentair makes filtration products for a range of industries, along with water pump solutions used in flood control, fire suppression, and residential applications. It also produces pumps, heating systems, and LED lighting for swimming pools, as well as water filtration systems for household use. The company reported an adjusted profit of $1.39 per share for the quarter ended June 30, above analysts' estimates of $1.34 per share. Quarterly revenue rose 2.2% to $1.12 billion, in line with analysts' estimates. Pentair previously implemented price hikes and pre-purchased its inventory to offset any potential impact from President Donald Trump's tariff policies, while also taking steps to reduce its dependence on China for its supply chain needs.

Rainmaker Announces Successful Deployment of Another Fully Containerized Seawater to Tap System in Turks and Caicos
LAS VEGAS, NV - July 17, 2025 ( NEWMEDIAWIRE ) - Rainmaker Worldwide Inc. (OTC: RAKR), a global leader in water technology solutions, is thrilled to announce that its subsidiary, Miranda Water Technologies, has successfully deployed another fully containerized Seawater to Tap system in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The latest deployment is now fully operational at Northwest Point Condominiums in Providenciales. This cutting‑edge system draws directly from a deep saltwater well with salinity levels exceeding 40,000 PPM, which is even higher than the average salinity of most ocean water, typically around 35,000 PPM (NOAA). Over the past four months, the unit has produced over 2 million litres of high‑quality, remineralized drinking water, delivering reliable potable for both residents and guests. Designed for rapid deployment and operational flexibility, Miranda's fully containerized R/OCell(R) system integrates with SmartCell remote monitoring and is backed by strong local support. Rainmaker remains committed to enabling decentralized, energy‑efficient water infrastructures in remote and island communities worldwide. Chris Potts, Chairman of Northwest Point Condominiums, said: 'When I became Chairman, one of my first goals was to enhance our infrastructure. Access to fresh, safe drinking water was a top priority. With Miranda's system, we now have a reliable, remotely monitored and locally supported water source. The turnkey solution delivered exactly what we needed, and I'm extremely happy with the results.' Michael O'Connor, Chairman and CEO of Rainmaker Worldwide Inc., added: 'This deployment is a great example of how we combine proven international technology with strong local partnerships. While Miranda's system represents some of the most energy efficient and compact water‑purification capabilities in the world, its immediate success in Turks and Caicos was made possible by the outstanding support of Been Construction Ltd, our key implementation and service partner on the ground.' This installation marks another containerized Miranda system now operating in Turks and Caicos, reinforcing Rainmaker's ongoing push for resilient water infrastructure in the region. STRABAG finalises deal to acquireWTE Wassertechnik
European technology group STRABAG has finalised transaction documents and signed a purchase agreement to acquire WTE Wassertechnik. WTE Wassertechnik is an environmental service provider engaged in planning, financing, construction and operation of projects related to water supply, wastewater disposal, sustainable sewage sludge treatment and energy recovery. This move follows the December 2024 agreement between Strabag and EVN to acquire WTE. The acquisition is set to expand Strabag's water technology capabilities and aligns with its Strategy 2030 objectives. The purchase price for WTE shares totals €100m ($114.9m), with additional shareholder loans being assumed. The acquisition will enhance Strabag's portfolio in integrated water management, with the combined business expected to generate an annual output of €400m. Strabag SE's Supervisory Board has approved the acquisition, which is currently awaiting various regulatory clearances, including antitrust approval. The closing of the transaction is anticipated within the next six months. Strabag engages in planning, design, construction, operation and facility management, and demolition. With 86,000 employees and a network of subsidiaries across Europe and other continents, the company has already made notable progress in water technology this year. Projects include a water treatment plant in Croatia and the preferred bidder status for the Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme in the UK. In a related development, Cologne-based subsidiary Strabag AG has acquired Sandkamp Tiefbau, a German pipeline construction company. This acquisition includes the integration of all 25 Sandkamp Tiefbau employees into the Strabag team in Nordhorn and Gronau. NEOM Energy and Water Company wins global recognition
Saudi Arabia's NEOM Energy and Water Company has been named first runner-up in the Innovative Research and Development Award (International Institutions category) during the fourth cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Global Water Award. The company was recognized for pioneering membrane-based crystallization technology that enables high-efficiency freshwater recovery and mineral extraction from brine. Held under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Global Initiatives and supervised by the UAE Water Aid Foundation, the $1-million-award supports research institutions developing scalable, sustainable solutions to address global water scarcity through renewable energy and advanced technologies. The NEOM-developed system replaces traditional energy-intensive thermal evaporation with a membrane-based approach. Using forward-osmosis principles and specially engineered membranes, the technology enables the extraction of valuable minerals such as salt, lithium and bromine, while simultaneously recovering desalinated water from seawater or brackish brine. The system operates at just 7 kWh per cubic meter, compared to 75-80 kWh/ cubic meters in conventional thermal systems. The process begins with standard seawater reverse osmosis, where chemically embedded membranes capture more than 99 percent of targeted minerals. The brine then passes through a two-stage brackish water reverse-osmosis system that isolates and concentrates the minerals to a purity of 99.5 percent or more. The pilot plant, located at the Duba Desalination Plant in Saudi Arabia, operates at a capacity of 1,200 cubic meters per day and has demonstrated strong performance under real-world conditions, with a technology readiness level of six. Beyond reducing environmental impact and operating costs, the innovation has the potential to redefine the economics of desalination by enabling mineral recovery at scale. 'The global water crisis threatens health, food security and economic development. By investing in advanced water technologies and fostering collaboration among governments, the private sector and innovators, we can find effective, sustainable solutions for billions affected,' said Dr. Noura Chehab, head of the research and innovation team at the NEOM Water Innovation Center. 'Receiving this award recognizes our team's years of work and inspires us to continue advancing technologies that enhance ocean water use and help solve critical water challenges for a more sustainable future,' said Dr. Nikolay Voutchkov, executive director of the NEOM Water Innovation Center.
