As the defense tech industry develops increasingly advanced hardware products, from autonomous drones and satellites to reusable rockets, the US lacks a modern supply chain for the obscure but critical parts and components that make these devices work. Often, such parts are made in China — a reality that's stoked fears about US supply chains for products like planes and weapons.
