JD Sports reveals opening date for store on Glasgow's Buchanan Street
The retail giant will officially open its doors on Thursday, May 8, with plans for a pre-launch celebration the night before. The exclusive, ticket-only event on May 7 will be held at the new store and will feature a meet-and-greet with players from both the men's and women's Scottish national teams. The opening weekend will see an exclusive performance from Triple01, with special guests and a meet-and-greet session. Shoppers will also have a chance to get their hands on a limited number of Air Max 95 "Pink Foam" trainers. It will be located in the former Gap and Paperchase units at 185-221 Buchanan Street. From May 9, it will be open from 8am to 7pm on weekdays, with extended hours until 8pm on Thursdays. The store will also be open from 8am to 7pm on weekends.

The refurbished branch spans a whopping 16,826 sq ft - more than double the size of the previous unit. To celebrate the launch of the store on Thursday, May 8, rising drill group Triple01s will take to the stage for an exclusive live performance on Saturday, May 10, followed by a meet and greet with fans. Sneakerheads can also nab the highly sought-after Nike Air Max 95 'Pink Foam' on a first-come, first-served basis. And visitors can also take away their very own JD x Crep Protect goodie bag, packed full of essentials to keep their trainers looking fresh.
