Moment yacht goes up in flames after 'loud bang': Couple rushed to hospital
A yacht in Germany was seen erupting in flames this morning before being left a charred heap of metal in the middle of Magdeburg city centre. At around 5am a loud bang awoke local residents who quickly realised a yacht on the Elbe river, between the Queen Edith Bridge and the Customs Bridge, had caught fire. A Danish man and woman were aboard the nine-metre-long yacht at the time of the blaze outbreak. They managed to escape the fire at the last minute, suffering minor injuries. But they were dashed to hospital with suspected hypothermia and smoke inhalation, as per local reports. According to the police's initial findings: 'The yacht had become stuck the previous day due to low water.' During the terrifying incident, 41 emergency personnel responded to the scene as well as a special fireboat. A fire department spokesperson told MDR: 'The fire was already fully engulfed when the emergency services arrived.' After around an hour of emergency works, the fire had been extinguished, but the boat could not be saved. Both the Editha Bridge and the Customs Bridge had to be completely closed. Images from the scene showed thick black smoke drifting over the the Werder, Cracau, and Brückfeld districts. Residents were urged to close windows and doors via a warning app. The cause of the fire remains unclear and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the blaze. Authorities have not ruled out environmental damage following the fire and according to the fire department, the damage is estimated at around £86,000. It comes after a superyacht was ravaged by fire after a blaze broke out in St Tropez last week. The dramatic fire unfolded on the Sea Lady II, a 41m boat, which can be chartered from £56,000 a week. And in January, a yacht that was being rented by music producer and rap artist Metro Boomin burst into flames in Miami. The 95-foot boat docked in the Miami River outside the strip club Booby Trap on the River, workers at the club told Local 10 News at the time. But after about 15 or 30 minutes, someone said they smelled smoke coming from the massive vessel. Strip club employees helped evacuate the roughly 15 guests that were staying on the boat, including Metro Boomin, real name Leland Tyler Wayne. The yacht was seen burning for hours with extraordinarily high flames. Just before 7am, the vessel sunk into the river.

Irina Shayk is soaking up the sun in barely there bikinis while on vacation. The 39-year-old model posted a series of photos on Instagram of herself in a number of bikinis as she enjoyed some time in the water and relaxing on board a yacht while on vacation. "Summer up," she wrote in the caption. In the series of photos, the model can be seen wearing a black bikini as she floats on her back on the water in the middle of the ocean. Other photos show her wearing the same bikini, being photographed lying on deck with a white sunhat covering her face. She also shared a photo of herself lying on a lounge chair and shielding her face from the sun with her hands. In addition to the other photos of Shayk visiting tourist destinations and posing in front of the ocean with the sunset behind her, she posted additional photos of her in swimsuits, including a mirror selfie in which she is wearing a leopard-print string bikini. Not only has the fighter come under fire for snogging the mystery brunette on a Florida beach but US rapper Azealia Banks has accused him of sending her unsolicited "d*** pics". The 212 hitmaker shared the explicit photos that allegedly show the UFC brawler on X, alongside his threat 'don't be a rat cos (sic) all rats get caught'. On top of his behaviour in Florida and Dublin, Conor has found himself in his latest spat with rapper Azealia Banks, who alleges that the fighter sent her the photos on X unprompted - despite her not following him back. MCGREGOR'S LEGAL ISSUES Last year, the MMA star was found liable in a civil case that accused him of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room in December 2018. It was alleged that he had choked the claimant, leading to her fearing for her life. He disputes the charges, arguing that they had consensual sex. A second woman accused him of sexual assault following a June 2023 incident at an NBA Finals game in Miami. The 49-year-old victim accused an "intoxicated" of slamming her face against a bathroom stall and placing her in an armlock before raping her. The woman alleged that McGregor engaged "in unlawful sexual contact" to fulfil his "own sexual gratification" and to "degrade" her. Florida prosecutors, however, declined to pursue criminal charges for the alleged assault with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, citing insufficient evidence in the case back in October 2023. McGregor denies any accusations of wrongdoing.
