Police investigating after child dies in Somerset school trip crash
A child died and 21 people were injured after a school coach overturned on the A396 at Cutcombe Hill in Exmoor, Somerset.
The coach, carrying year-five pupils from Minehead Middle School, was returning from a trip to Exmoor Zoo when it went off road and slid 20ft down a bank on Thursday afternoon.
Avon and Somerset Police declared a major incident, with emergency services sending 46 resources, including three air ambulances, to the scene.
Two children were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, while other passengers sustained minor injuries or were unharmed.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash, with police urging the public not to speculate.
