Israel rejects Hamas edits to Gaza truce proposal
Shafaq News – Middle East/Gaza On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected Hamas' changes to the ceasefire plan for Gaza. Netanyahu's office confirmed that an Israeli delegation will travel to Doha on July 6 to resume negotiations. The latest Qatari proposal —backed by the United States—offers a phased ceasefire that could be extended beyond an initial 60-day period if both parties engage in good-faith negotiations. Earlier, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called on Netanyahu via X to drop the US-backed hostage deal, calling it a 'surrender framework,' and instead pursue a 'decisive victory.' — איתמר בן גביר (@itamarbengvir) July 5, 2025 Hamas delivered a ' positive ' reply to the latest ceasefire proposal after holding internal discussions and consultations with allied factions. However, the group's respond includes key demands as a permanent halt to the fighting, United Nations oversight of humanitarian aid, and an Israeli withdrawal to positions held on March 2, before the renewed offensive and occupation of northern Gaza. The Doha talks are set to begin a day before Netanyahu meets with US President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and the release of Israeli captives held in the enclave. The White House has not disclosed further details about the meeting.

Israel says senior Hamas commander killed in Gaza strike
Shafaq News – Gaza The Israeli military announced on Friday that it had killed Mohammad Issa Al-Issa, a senior commander in Hamas's military wing, during an airstrike in Gaza City. In a joint statement, the Israel Army and the Shin Bet described Al-Issa as one of Hamas's founding members and a central figure in the group's military leadership. He was said to have served as the head of combat and logistical support operations within the organization. Israeli authorities stated that Al-Issa had previously led Hamas's force-building programs in Gaza, headed the group's military training command, and was a member of its General Military Council. He was also reportedly involved in planning and executing the October 7 attacks, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians and soldiers. According to the statement, Al-Issa continued to operate in a senior capacity during the current conflict, promoting what it described as 'terror plans from air and sea' targeting both Israeli civilians and troops. He was also said to be playing a role in reconstructing Hamas's damaged military infrastructure amid ongoing hostilities. The statement emphasized that Al-Issa was among the last remaining high-ranking Hamas commanders in Gaza who held a senior position before October 7. Israeli forces described him as a 'central hub of knowledge' within the group's military structure. There has been no immediate comment from Hamas on the reported killing.

Netanyahu accuses Macron of siding with Hamas
'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized French President Emmanuel Macron accusing him of aligning with Hamas and echoing its 'false propaganda' following Macron's remarks condemning 'Israel's' genocide in Gaza. According to his post on X, Netanyahu responded after Macron, in a TF1 television interview on May 13, 2025, described 'Israel's' policy in Gaza as 'shameful,' calling out the humanitarian toll and civilian casualties caused by the aid blockade. Netanyahu accused Macron of 'once again choosing to stand alongside a murderous Islamist terrorist organization' and 'accusing Israel of blood libels,'. In a pointed statement, Netanyahu emphasized 'Israel's' resolve, saying, 'Israel is waging a multi-pronged struggle for its existence. Instead of supporting the Western democratic camp that is fighting Islamist terrorist organizations and calling for the release of the hostages, Macron is demanding that Israel surrender and reward terrorism. Israel will not stop or surrender.' He added that he is 'determined to complete all of Israel's war goals: the release of all our hostages, the military and governmental defeat of Hamas, and a promise that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel.' — Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) May 14, 2025

Israel Targets Top Hamas Militant Muhammad Sinwar In Latest Gaza Strike, His Fate Unclear
Muhammad Sinwar, one of the remaining top commanders of Hamas in Gaza, was reportedly targeted by Israel in a massive airstrike at a hospital in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday afternoon. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) did not confirm if Sinwar was killed in the strike, but it confirmed attacking an underground Hamas command center, below the European Hospital in Khan Younis. The military also released video from the aftermath of the strike, purportedly showing a tunnel under the hospital uncovered by the IDF strike. — צבא ההגנה לישראל (@idfonline) May 13, 2025 A separate video footage shared online showed large craters gouged into the ground and cracks in the courtyard outside the hospital. A damaged bus was lodged in one hole. Lagi menunggu kabar hasil serangan IDF kemarin yg mentargetkan pemimpin militer Hamas di Gaza, Muhammad Sinwar, & Jubirnya, Abu Ubaidah Israel terus konsisten, berjuang setiap hari demi pembebasan semua sandera, menghancurkan kemampuan militer Hamas, serta mendemiliterisasi Gaza — Jonny Situmorang, SH (@jonnypengacara) May 14, 2025 According to the Gaza health ministry, at least 28 people were killed in the strike on the hospital, while dozens of others were injured. The Israeli military was working to confirm if Sinwar was killed in the strike, The Times of Israel reported, quoting sources. Sinwar is believed to be one of the senior-most Hamas military commanders left in Gaza after over a year and a half of war with Israel. He is the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the former Hamas leader who was killed by Israeli forces in 2023. Yahya Sinwar had masterminded the October 7, 2023, attacks that set off the war. "If Sinwar was indeed in the tunnel, as the military's intelligence indicated, he was likely killed," the sources said. Israel's Attacks On Gaza Hospitals Since the beginning of in Gaza Strip, Israeli officials have accused Hamas of operating from inside Gaza's hospitals - a claim denied by Hamas, as well as hospital officials. Meanwhile, Israel has threatened a major escalation of military offensive in Gaza despite ongoing ceasefire efforts. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that the military would enter Gaza "with full force" in the coming days, unless Hamas surrenders its weapons and returns around 20 living hostages it still holds, along with the remains of 40 others. Hamas leaders have refused to disarm, adding that they will not release the captives unless Israel ends the war. Earlier, the military said it had struck Hamas militants inside "a command and control centre" at Nasser Hospital, also in Khan Yunis. Gaza's health ministry said that the strike killed two people. One of the dead was journalist Hassan Aslih, the civil defence said. Israel had accused Aslih of participating in Hamas's October 7, 2023, attacks. Throughout the war, Israel has methodically eliminated Hamas's leadership, killing not only Yahya Sinwar but also Muhammad Deif, the head of its military wing; Ismail Haniyeh, the group's political chief; and numerous others. Hamas is designated a "terrorist organisation" by Washington.
