Shehbaz strongly condemned Israeli strikes on Tehran that targeted nuclear facilities and killed top commanders and nuclear scientists and experts on Friday.
During a phone call with Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, Shehbaz stated that Israel's attacks violated Tehran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Therefore, Iran has the right of self-defense, as provided under Article 51 of the UN Charter. A Call for Unity
Meanwhile, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has also denounced the Israeli aggression against Iran, urging the Islamic world to unite against the Israeli occupation state.
'We stand by Iran in every way. We will protect Iranian interests. Iranians are our brothers, and their grief and pain are shared,' Asif said on Saturday addressing the National Assembly following the Israeli strikes on Iran.
Asif added that Israel is targeting not just Iran, but also Yemen and Palestine. Consequently, unity has become crucial in the Muslim world.
'If we remain silent and disunited today, then everyone will be targeted eventually,' Asif said.
In the light of this, he stressed that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should hold a meeting to agree on a unified strategy to defy Israel's aggression. Israeli Strikes on Iran
