First since Ceasefire: Israel warns then strikes southern Lebanon
Shafaq News/ Israeli warplanes struck Toul District in Nabatiyeh on Thursday, marking the first time since the November 2024 ceasefire that Israel issued a public warning ahead of a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military's spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, posted on X, urging civilians to evacuate an area near a specific building. According to Adraee, the targeted location was in proximity to facilities affiliated with Hezbollah. Lebanese media confirmed the attack but reported no immediate casualties. — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) May 22, 2025 In a separate statement, Adraee announced that Israeli jets had also conducted an airstrike on a Hezbollah military site in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley. Earlier the same day, an Israeli drone targeted several prefabricated shelters in the border village of Mhaibib. Since the ceasefire took effect in November 2024, the Lebanese authorities have documented more than 3,200 Israeli violations, with over 200 deaths and approximately 400 injuries recorded. According to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, Israel was required to complete a full withdrawal from southern Lebanon by January 26. However, the deadline was extended to February 18 after Israel refused to comply. As of today, Israeli forces remain stationed at five military outposts along the border.

Israeli strike on Lebanon amid US envoy Beirut visit
Shafaq News/ On Sunday, the Israeli military confirmed it carried out an airstrike 'targeting two Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon'. Israeli military spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated X that the 'two Hezbollah members were targeted while working in an engineering capacity' to rebuild 'terrorist infrastructure'. #عاجل 🔸اغارت طائرة لسلاح الجو قبل قليل على عنصرين ارهاييين لحزب الله عملا في آلية هندسية في منطقة زبقين في جنوب لبنان. تم استهداف العنصرين الارهابيين اثناء قيامهما بمحاولة اعمار بنى تحتية ارهابية تابعة لحزب الله — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) April 6, 2025 The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli airstrike, which struck the town of Zibqin in the Tyre district, resulted in the deaths of two individuals. Despite the ceasefire agreement in place since November 27, Israel has continued airstrikes, particularly in southern and eastern Lebanon, reigniting the debate over Hezbollah's disarmament. The strike came coinciding with the visit of US Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, who held discussions in Beirut. A Lebanese official confirmed that during meetings held on Saturday with senior Lebanese officials, including President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Ortagus discussed the issue of Hezbollah's weapons. The source, speaking anonymously, told AFP that Ortagus emphasized 'accelerating and intensifying the Lebanese Army's efforts to dismantle Hezbollah's military infrastructure, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that weapons are solely under the control of the state.' However, no specific timeline was provided for these measures. Ortagus refrained from making any public statements during her visit, but official Lebanese statements issued on Saturday described the talks as 'constructive' and 'positive,' noting that the discussions also covered the situation in southern Lebanon, the border with Syria, and other matters.

According to Adraee, the military targeted Hezbollah's command posts, military infrastructure, launch pads, and operatives in the region.
