Yemen's Houthis target Ben Gurion with Palestine-2 missile
Shafaq News/ Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah) claimed responsibility on Tuesday for launching a 'double military operation' targeting Israel, including a hypersonic ballistic missile strike on Ben Gurion International Airport. In an official statement, Ansarallah said they fired a 'Palestine-2' hypersonic missile at the airport and a separate 'Zolfiqar' ballistic missile at a strategic Israeli facility east of Yafa. — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) May 27, 2025 Earlier in the day, the Israeli military confirmed that it had intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen—the second such interception in less than 24 hours. Both projectiles were downed without triggering air raid sirens, and no casualties or damage were reported. #عاجل اعترض سلاح الجو قبل قليل صاروخًا أطلق من اليمن. لم يتم تفعيل انذارات.كما اعترض سلاح الجو الليلة الماضية صاروخ آخر أطلق من اليمن. — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) May 27, 2025 The Houthis had previously claimed responsibility for multiple attacks targeting Israeli territory, including two strikes on Ben Gurion earlier this week, which led to temporary flight disruptions, according to Israeli media. Israeli Haaretz criticized the government's approach. 'No country has succeeded in subduing the Yemenis—why should Israel be any different?' the newspaper wrote, warning that targeted assassinations and airstrikes would likely fail to deter a group deeply rooted in ideological belief.

Retaliation for Gaza: Houthis strike Israel's Ben Gurion Airport
Shafaq News/ Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah) launched a hypersonic ballistic missile at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, the group announced on Friday. In a statement, Yahya Saree, the group's military spokesperson, said the missile 'successfully' struck the airport near Tel Aviv, triggering mass sheltering across Israel and halting air traffic. #معركة_الفتح_الموعود_والجهاد_المقدس — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) May 23, 2025 Meanwhile, the Israeli military claimed intercepting a projectile fired from Yemen, which triggered air raid sirens across more than 120 towns and cities, including Tel Aviv and parts of the West Bank. Channel 12 journalist Almog Boker confirmed it was the third projectile launched from Yemen in the past 24 hours. Saree also warned that continued silence over Gaza 'will bring shame and disgrace' to the Islamic world, pledging further strikes unless the Israeli offensive ends and the blockade is lifted. The group maintains that its attacks are a retaliation for Israel's ongoing assault on Gaza, where more than 53,762 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed since October 2023.

Yemen's Houthis announce ‘Qualitative' attack on Israel's main airport
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Yemen's Ansarallah (Houthis) movement announced it launched a long-range ballistic missile and an advanced drone at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport and a strategic site in the city of Yaffa, calling it a 'qualitative military operation.' In a statement, the group asserted the use of a hypersonic missile and a 'Yaffa-type' drone, claiming both 'successfully achieved its goal.' They further alleged the attack disrupted operations at the airport and caused panic in surrounding areas, despite Israeli claims that the projectile was intercepted. Houthis also reiterated warnings to international airlines, urging them to halt flights to Israel. 'The ban on air navigation to the airports of occupied Palestine, as well as the ban on the passage of Israeli ships through the Red and Arabian Seas, in addition to supportive operations, will continue until the aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted,' the group vowed. #معركة_الفتح_الموعود_والجهاد_المقدس — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) May 9, 2025 The announcement came as the Israeli military revealed intercepting a missile launched from Yemen, which triggered alarms across the Gush Dan and HaShfela regions, with blasts reportedly heard near Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. While initial reports suggested the missile was stopped mid-air, Israeli media specified that the Arrow (Hetz) defense system carried out the interception after the US-supplied THAAD system reportedly failed to engage the target. #عاجل اعتراض صاروخ أطلق من اليمن وسبب في تفعيل انذارات في عدة مناطق في البلاد — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) May 9, 2025 The launch follows a series of Israeli airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sanaa, carried out in retaliation for a recent Houthi missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport. The Israeli assault targeted key infrastructure, including Sanaa's international airport, power facilities, and industrial sites. Houthis have maintained a campaign of missile and drone attacks against Israel, which the group claims are in response to Israel's ongoing war in Gaza that killed over 61,709 civilians and injured morethan111,588.
