My Chemical Romance ticket buyers express frustration over crashed website and sold out tickets

PEOPLE who are trying to purchase tickets for My Chemical Romance's (MCR) concert are met with errors and sold out seats as ticketing websites and app suffered a major crash. Many people on Reddit expressed their frustration and dissapointment with the situation. Organisers of the MCR South East Asia 2026 concert in Kuala Lumpur, GoLive Asia and Hello Universe Malaysia announced that the concert has been sold out, with 60,000 tickets snapped at around four hours after sales started on Friday. @Hilter blamed scalpers who purchase tickets in advance just to sell them off at a higher price. ALSO READ: Killjoys' joy cut short by surprise fees despite pricey MCR tickets 'I feel bad my friends couldn't get MCR tickets because of scalpers. Talentless, soulless people flipping seats like it's a stock market. Hope they get stuck with a hundred unsold tickets and a lifetime ban from every venue on earth,' he said. @Express_Yam_9547 said a concert in Indonesia is better than the one in Malaysia where MCR will be performing in a rock festival with other famous bands like Blink 182 and System of a Down. @VapeGodz said his colleague got a call from the event organiser when she tried to buy the ticket. They were asking her real MCR fan questions that were difficult to answer. @Pabasa pointed out that he didn't get a phone call when he tried buying a ticket but rather a multiple choice question about MCR. ALSO READ: RM699 MCR KL concert tickets now RM3,200 – fans call for action 'I got the first question wrong and I was sent back to the queue. I got in line again and and got the second question right before I was able to buy the ticket,' he said. Pabasa said the first question was asking what location was the song Helena music video filmed in. Second question was asking what song has the given lyrics. @mooglefly said, 'i am so upset at this GoLive ticketing system... hopefully (very unlikely but one can dream) they add more concert dates.' Some like @asdfghjkirara complained that they already purchased a ticket but didn't receive an email confirming their ticket purchase. 'Has anyone received an email about their ticket purchase for MCR Malaysia? I didn't receive any email aside from the payment confirmation. I don't see my order on the order history and my events on my GoLive account,' he said.

RM699 MCR KL concert tickets now RM3,200 – fans call for action

AS Malaysian 'Killjoys' scramble to secure tickets for the My Chemical Romance (MCR), American rock band's long-awaited 2026 concert on April 30 in Bukit Jalil, scalpers have already swooped in, reselling tickets at inflated prices across online platforms. In a Threads post, Syazwan Basri shared screenshots of a reseller offering RM699 tickets for a staggering RM3,200 — more than four times the original price. The inflated resale price is three times higher than a single premium Helena Zone seat. Syazwan also tagged the concert organiser, Adam Ashraf, congratulating him on the impressive sold-out status within just four hours of sales opening, while urging him to take action against scalper groups exploiting fans. Responding to that, Adam said 'Keep calm. The march is not over,' as a hint for a possible opening for another round of ticket sales. Other users shared numerous posts by scalpers reselling tickets at inflated prices with a clear 'take it or leave it' attitude. Many urged fellow fans not to fall for the overpriced resale traps, warning against supporting scalpers by purchasing from them. The desperation and greed of these resellers have been widely criticised by netizens, who condemned their attempts to make thousands of ringgit in profit from tickets they originally bought for just a few hundred. Earlier this week, Malay Mail reported that Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirmed the government is working on an anti-scalping law, following a series of incidents related to ticket resales.

Malaysia's palm oil exports may rise in July ahead of US' 'reciprocal' tariff hike

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian palm oil exports are likely to increase this month as buyers rush to front-load shipments ahead of impending US import duties, which take effect on Aug 1, said CIMB Securities. The firm expects the local stockpile to increase by six per cent on monthly basis to 2.16 million tonnes in July 2025, supported by higher crude palm oil (CPO) production on the back of more harvesting days. Meanwhile, palm oil exports are forecast to climb five per cent to 1.32 million tonnes amid a potential front-loading of palm oil exports to the US before new tariffs come into force. Effective Aug 1, the US will impose a 25 per cent import tariff on all Malaysian palm oil products under its "reciprocal tariff" regime, while Indonesian goods will be subject to a higher 32 per cent rate. CIMB Securities said these tariffs will raise the cost of palm oil for US buyers, likely prompting a shift toward cheaper domestic alternatives such as soybean oil, benefiting US soybean farmers. It noted that ahead of the tariff hike, buyers may consider front-loading purchases to take advantage of the current lower 10 per cent tariff rate on US imports from Malaysia. "The US accounted for just 1.9 million tonnes or 2.4 per cent of global palm oil consumption. The current seven percentage point tariff differential between Malaysia and Indonesia may give Malaysian palm oil producers a slight competitive edge. "We also take the view that the recent passing of US President Donald Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' which includes an extension of the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit through 2031, is likely to support US soybean oil prices by boosting biodiesel demand," it added. CIMB Securities still "neutral" on the sector sector as we expect CPO prices to remain range-bound. The firm maintains its 2025 full-year CPO price forecast at RM4,200 per tonne, supported by Indonesia's biodiesel mandates and limited expansion of new palm oil planting areas. As for July, it projects CPO prices to stay within the RM3,700 to RM4,100 per tonne range. Sector-wise, IOI Corp Bhd remains a top pick for its merger and acquisition prospects, with a target price of RM4.11 per share, while Hap Seng Plantations Bhd is favoured as a value play with a target price of RM1.88.
