Harn Len declares special dividend after strong 4Q

Harn Len's fourth-quarter net profit surged to RM22.5mil. PETALING JAYA: Harn Len Corp Bhd remains cautious and is actively formulating strategies to safeguard its business operations. The plantation group said these include enhancing efficiency and implementing cost rationalisation measures to mitigate potential negative impacts. Harn Len said crude palm oil (CPO) prices are currently hovering between RM3,900 and RM4,100 per tonne. 'A surge in soybean oil prices and high demand from India will help to support CPO prices, where the average CPO price for the year is forecast to remain above RM4,000 per tonne,' the company added. In its fourth quarter ended May 31, Harn Len's net profit surged to RM22.5mil, or earnings per share of 3.68 sen, from RM1.5mil or 0.27 sen, a year ago. This brought its full-year profit to RM33.4mil, or 5.75 sen. Quarterly revenue rose 39.3% to RM70.9mil from RM50.9mil, lifting full-year revenue to RM283.2mil. It declared a special dividend of three sen per share for its financial year ended May 31.

Harn Len posts stronger 4Q, declares special dividend of 3.00 sen

KUALA LUMPUR: Harn Len Corp Bhd remains cautious and is actively formulating strategies to safeguard its business operations. The plantation group said these include enhancing efficiency and implementing cost rationalisation measures to mitigate potential negative impacts. Harn Len noted that the crude palm oil (CPO) price is currently hovering between RM3,900 to RM4,100 per tonne. It said prices fluctuated in June 2025, driven by a surge in global crude oil prices early in the month and the ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict. 'Surge of soybean oil prices and high demand from India will help to support the CPO price, where the average CPO price for the year is forecasted to remain above RM4,000 per tonne,' it added. In the fourth quarter ended May 31, Harn Len's net profit surged to RM22.5mil, or earnings per share of 3.68 sen, from RM1.5mil, or 0.27 sen, a year ago. This brought its full-year profit to RM33.4mil, or 5.75 sen. Quarterly revenue rose 39.3% to RM70.9mil from RM50.9mil, lifting full-year revenue to RM283.2mil. Harn Len said the higher operating revenue was mainly driven by increased sales volumes of CPO and palm kernel. The surge in profit was primarily due to a gain from the disposal of an investment property. It has declared a special dividend of 3.00 sen per share for the financial year ended May 31, 2025, payable on July 15 to shareholders on record as at July 1.

Armoured Mobility now offering an armoured Chery Tiggo 8 for under R20,000 per month

Buying an armoured vehicle in South Africa no longer necessitates sneaking into a warehouse at an ungodly hour with a briefcase full of cash. Jokes aside, armoured vehicles are becoming more mainstream and easier to finance, as an increase in crimes such as hijacking, kidnapping, and assassinations lead South Africans to seek more protection on the streets. One of the most affordable complete armoured vehicle solutions in South Africa is the B4 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max offered by Joburg-based Armoured mobility, and it is now more accessible thanks to a new finance package. The B4-armoured Chery is priced at R1,299,900, and those opting for the finance will pay R18,999 per month, over 72 months at 10.75% prime. It does require a deposit of R300,000 however.

Armoured Mobility now offers bank financing for armoured vehicles in SA

Armoured Mobility has introduced bank financing options to make armoured vehicles more accessible to a wider market in South Africa. Previously, a full upfront cash payment was needed to bulletproof a car, a financial commitment that was out of reach for many. Armoured Mobility, a division of the DigiCars Group, has partnered with unnamed financial institutions to introduce a more flexible financing model. 'Our goal is to make high-level personal protection more attainable for individuals and families,' says Nabeel Khan of Armoured Mobility. 'By introducing these finance options, we are enabling more South Africans to invest in their safety without the burden of a full upfront capital outlay, thereby preserving their financial resources.' Khan cited the example of a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max with B4 armour that provides protection against handguns, South Africa's most accessible armoured SUV, starting at R1,299,900. With a R300,000 deposit, Khan says the monthly instalment at the 10.75% prime interest rate over 72 months is R19,000, with no balloon or residual payment. 'This development extends peace of mind beyond the home and outside your gates, ensuring protection during daily commutes and activities, such as the morning school run,' he said.
