What is the biggest win in a Champions League final as PSG thrash Inter?

Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Milan to win the Champions League for the first time as the French side became the first team in European Cup history to win by a five-goal margin. Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue put PSG two goals up inside 20 minutes as Luis Enrique's stylish side put Inter to the sword in a dominant first half. Advertisement It felt like Inter needed a miracle at half-time, but their task became even harder when the 19-year-old Doue finished off a devastating counter-attack shortly after the hour. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then added a fourth, which moved PSG into esteemed company. But another 19-year-old, Senny Mayulu, came off the bench and two minutes later scored the fifth goal to make history in Munich. It's the first time a team has won a European Cup or Champions League final by five goals. Before tonight, the record margin of victory was four goals. It happened four times: Real Madrid 7-3 Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960; Bayern Munich 4-0 Atletico Madrid, following a replay, in 1974; Milan 4-0 Steaua Bucharest in 1989 and Milan 4-0 Barcelona in 1994. Advertisement With PSG heading for a record Champions League win, Inter were left with unwanted history. (Getty Images) Ally McCoist said on TNT Sports: 'Inter Milan have gone. Take nothing away from PSG as they have battered them into submission. They're absolutely done Inter Milan - they're all over the place.' PSG, who lost the 2020 final to Bayern Munich, have spent billions in search of the Champions League, signing some of the best players in the world in Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi but without going all the way. With those stars having left, Enrique built a wonderful attacking side that has allowed the young talents of Doue, Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele to thrive and there is no doubt that they have been the best in Europe this season. Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard added on TNT Sports: 'The towel went in after 60 minutes. There was a huge gulf between both teams. A wonderful performance. For a young coach, and young players watching that, it's the perfect performance.'

Video: PSG's Hakimi gives Brigitte Macron an awkward look

Published June 3rd, 2025 - 12:23 GMT ALBAWABA - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Achraf Hakimi recently went viral on social media after a video revealed him giving Brigitte Macron an odd and awkward look during a meet-up that celebrated the football team's victory against Inter Milan in the Champions League finale. PSG won against Inter Milan 5-0 at the UEFA Champions League Final on May 31, 2025, sparking widespread celebrations on social media and in Paris' streets. Hakimi contributed to one goal out of the five scored in Milan's net. Several social media users noticed Hakimi's observatory look, alongside his teammate Lucas Hernández, who appeared visibly uncomfortable and confused. This may have stemmed from recent media coverage and controversy surrounding Brigitte Macron's appearance and identity. Recent rumors and investigations from the media claimed that Brigitte Macron is a transgener who was born a man with childhood photos as "evidence." The alleged photos were first shared by a French magazine, but quickly flooded social media with claims and reports. — Camille Moscow 🇷🇺 🌿 ☦️ (@camille_moscow) June 2, 2025 However, many reported on social media that the boy in the photos was not Brigitte Macron but "her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, from 1953, 1954, and 1955." The ongoing rumors were recently reignited by American far-right political commentator Candace Owens, who claimed that French President Emannuel Macron and his wife Brigitte sent her a "legal threat" to prevent her from speaking further about the matter in question. The rumors first occurred when two women (Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey) went on YouTube claiming that Brigitte was born in 1953 as a boy under the name "Jean-Michel Trogneux." They were later targeted in a defamation lawsuit and persecuted by a court in Normandy city. Emmanuel Macron has constantly denied the allegations mentioned above across the years, describing them as "false" and "fabricated lies." © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (

Inside the 'uncontrollable' PSG Paris riots: Shocking videos reveal terrifying scenes of cars attacked and burned, shops looted and 491 people arrested

Paris' chief of police Laurent Nunez has argued that there was 'sufficient' policing provided by the city ahead of the riots that saw 491 people arrested and chaos in the streets in the wake of Paris Saint-Germain 's historic Champions League win. Luis Enrique's side claimed their maiden major European title in a 5-0 rout of Inter Milan in Munich on Saturday night, with Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Senny Mayulu and Desire Doue all finding the back of the net at the Allianz Arena. With the majority of French capital natives supporting the Rouge-et-Bleu rather than their much smaller rivals Paris FC, the city quickly erupted into raucous celebrations. But while most of the PSG fans kept their festivities within the boundaries of the law, a small minority sparked a night of mayhem and destruction as supporters took to the streets. Rioting broke out throughout Paris and beyond, with two people tragically killed in events connected with the celebrations. Firefighters in the capital were forced to extinguish street fires which took in cars, with a number of businesses broken into and looted. C'est grave ce que certains ont fait cette nuit. D'accord le PSG sont champions mais de là à terroriser des jeunes filles ? — AQABABE (@AQABABE_) June 1, 2025 Two women were among those affected by the rioting and chaos in the wake of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League win when their car was surrounded and broken into by a crowd of supporters In one shocking video, two women were seen being set upon in their car by a crowd of supporters, with their windscreen later smashed and a window kicked through by one man to reveal their terrified expressions. After PSG's victory parade on Sunday afternoon, there was further trouble on the famous Champs-Elysees avenue, with riot police using flash ball guns and tear gas on the celebrants. But despite the chaos, Nunez insisted that the number of police officers deployed ahead of the weekend's events had been ample, with the small minority which misbehaved intent on doing so regardless of circumstances. '5,400 police officers on Saturday, of course, that was enough,' Nunez said on Monday, via Le Parisien. 'We prevented a lot of damage, there were 491 arrests and 79 more on Sunday. That's an unprecedented number of arrests.' Nunez denounced the rioters, continuing: 'What we deplore is that there are people who are actually making fun of the cause, the celebration, and the PSG match, since they weren't even watching it. 'They simply came to the Parc des Princes and the Champs-Elysees to commit atrocities, loot, and attack the police.' Nunez added that he wasn't looking to 'glorify' the incidents on Saturday evening, and that he 'wasn't satisfied' with how the evening had ended, but he was adamant that 'we can't talk about a security breach.' 'It's a societal problem and all stakeholders must address it. To say it's a failure ignores the fact that we arrested a huge number of people and that it will have a deterrent effect in the future. The government's response is firm.' The chief of police also shed light on an intervention he viewed as a success which saw police break up disruption on the main ring road around the city on Sunday. Footage taken of an incident on the ring road on Saturday evening appeared to show people running from riot police who arrived at the scene on motorbikes. Fireworks were being set off in an attempt to move the police on, and a number of e-bikes were flung onto the road from nearby bridges. Police were filmed eventually moving the rioters on, but not after some rough-handling of two men. Further instances of disturbance on Sunday evening saw a vehicle set on fire near the stadium, as well as a number of clashes between small groups and the police. The night before, major roads close to Parc des Princes, the PSG home ground were invaded by fans, bringing traffic to a halt, with riot police attempting to restore order using tear gas and baton charges. Cars were set on fire around the Porte de Saint-Cloud - a major traffic intersection - where fireworks were fired at police. Huge crowds gathered in all the city's major squares, including République, Bastille, and Nation, where videos posted on X showed some of the worst violence. Paris, the city of love. ❤️ — Ada Lluch (@ada_lluch) May 31, 2025 Gangs of people watched as cars were set on fire and burned in the streets of Paris At Bastille, a 23-year-old woman was seriously injured after falling onto barriers from the famous column commemorating the Storming of the Bastille in 1789. Video footage also showed crowds standing around burning cars, until they were told loudly to 'move' as firefighters sought to contain the blazing vehicles. A ring of steel had been created around the Champs-Élysées, with major department stores and banks using steel shutters to try and keep looters away. PSG's official club shops on the Champs, and at their ground, were also barricaded over the weekend. Despite this, a Foot Locker sports store on Champs-Élysées was broken into, and goods including multiple trainers stolen. A Maisons du Monde furniture store on the nearby Avenue Wagram was also looted, said a police spokesman. 'The crowds are going wild,' said an eye-witness, who asked to be referred to as Jacques, 18. 'Many people are just enjoying the win, on a historic night for PSG, while others just want to be violent, and to vandalise or steal stuff - it is shameful.' Motorbikes and discarded mattresses were set alight, sending thick black smoke billowing through the night sky. There was even fighting reported around the Eiffel Tower, which was lit up in PSG's red, white and blue following their 5-0 win. At nearby Roland-Garros, the French Open was touched by the chaos, with fireworks and crowd noise providing a soundtrack to night matches including the all-British clash between Jacob Fearnley and Cam Norrie, and Novak Djokovic's defeat of Filip Misolic. Djokovic revealed on Sunday that there had been some discussion after the end of the match about whether the players were safe to return to their hotels. 'At one point they were discussing whether we should stay at the rooms and hotels around Roland Garros, because where we are staying is quite close to the Arc de Triomphe,' Djokovic said. 'It was quite a scene yesterday, there was a lot of trouble on the streets. We barely made it to the hotel around 1am to be honest. 'It was quite an adventure I must say. In the end we were good. It is a big thing for Paris.'

Dembele, Doue among seven PSG players on Champions League team of the season

Paris Saint-Germain strikers Ousmane Dembele was named Champions League player of the season as UEFA on Sunday picked seven of the title-winning side on the competition's team of the season. PSG won the trophy for the first time by thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich on Saturday. Advertisement Dembele, who hit eight goals over the competition, did not score in the final but he provided two assists and his overall performance drew praise from the UEFA Technical Observer Group. "Dembele has taken on the role of a leader in the Paris Saint-Germain team, as we saw in the final with how he worked so hard, pressing from the front," explained the committee. "He created doubts for their opponents match after match with his clever movement, dropping deep to give his team superiority in the midfield." PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and defenders Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes were also in the XI along with midfielder Vitinha and teenage attacker Desire Doue who scored twice and set up another in Saturday's rout. Advertisement The four non-PSG players in the team were defender Alessandro Bastoni of beaten finalists Inter, midfielder Declan Rice of Arsenal and Raphinha, the season's joint top scorer, and Lamine Yamal of Barcelona. "We've made this selection of players, particularly in the attack, to reflect the exceptional mobility which was such a feature of the victorious Paris Saint-Germain team's approach," said the UEFA report. "The forward line selected represents this – a flexible team with attacking players who can interchange positions." Doue, who was not a regular starter as PSG struggled in the group stage of the competition, edged 17-year-old Yamal to the competition's young player award. Advertisement "Doue has been a revelation this season," said UEFA. "He made an incredible breakthrough in the knockout phase, going to the final and producing a Player of the Match performance on Saturday night, becoming the first teenager to score twice in a final." Dembele's award could have an impact on the voting for Ballon d'Or, the annual global player-of-the-year award, which will be presented on September 22. "I'd give the Ballon d'Or to Ousmane Dembele, simply for the way he defends," said PSG's Spanish coach after the victory on Saturday. Yamal, Raphinha and Donnarumma are among other frontrunners for the award. bap-ali-pb/bsp
