iPhone 17 Pro to have repositioned antennas

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 family on September 9, and as we get closer to that day more and more rumors are coming out about them. Today's is all about antenna positioning in the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro (and presumably the iPhone 17 Pro Max too). The antennas will allegedly be repositioned around the rear camera module, which will extend across the entire width of the device, as you may already know since this was by far one of the most rumored design changes supposedly coming this year. Apple's inspiration for the antenna repositioning might have been the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2, which both feature strategically integrated antennas in order to maximize reception and signal stability, according to the source of today's rumor. Current iPhones place the antennas along the chassis edges, with visible breaks in the frame to let signals through. For the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple apparently wants to reduce interference from the chassis materials and enhance both 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. The camera island is an area less prone to shielding and interference, thus it was a good choice for improving performance in congested environments and ensuring a stable connection. Source

iPhone 17 Pro now rumored to have a cleaner design with improved connectivity

On the wearable, antennas are integrated strategically to optimize reception and signal the moment, the iPhone's antennas are placed on the frames. These antenna lines are quite visible and, quite frankly, not a great even if you don't mind the placement of the antennas, they can interfere with 5G and Wi-Fi 7 signals, as their position makes them susceptible to getting covered by a user's hands. Additionally, most users slap cases on their devices, which can again lead to signal issues. Internal metal components can also interfere with the radiation patternThat's perhaps why Apple has decided to relocate the antennas around the camera module, which is going to be bigger than the one on the iPhone 16 Pro , and will thus have more space for repositioning should lead to better signal reception, particularly in dense areas. We can also look forward to lower latency, which should speed up streaming and data will also make for a clear side frame design with fewer breaks. The freed-up space might be utilized for other components, such as the thermal Majin Bu has a respectable track record, they don't always get things right, so this rumor is best taken with a pinch of is shaping up to be a pretty decent upgrade. In addition to a new rear design, the new device is also likely to feature an improved camera system and a faster changes will come at a cost , though, with multiple rumors indicating that the new handsets will be pricier than the current generation.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 could go big on display perks without getting bigger

In the smartwatch community, you predominantly come across two factions. One seeks a small and stylish package, while the other chases a bigger display to get meaningful work done on it. With its next performance and endurance-focused Ultra smartwatch, Apple is apparently going to address the needs of the latter class. According to a Macrumors report, which cites the mention of a new display resolution for an unannounced smartwatch in Apple's codebase, the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra will feature a bigger display without increasing the wearable's overall footprint. How? Shrink the bezels, apparently. Recommended Videos The report mentions a new 422×514 pixels display resolution, which eclipses the 410×502 pixels screen resolution on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It is more plausible that Apple has simply trimmed the bezels to achieve more screen real estate (which would explain the jump in the resolution) instead of redesigning the entire chassis. The former seems more likely, especially considering Apple's long history of using the same fundamental design language for at least a few years before making any major changes. The best example would be the Apple Watch Series 10, which merely got a slimmed-down treatment compared to its predecessors, while the Apple Watch Series 7 merely added a curved display into the mix. A meaty upgrade? According to leaks and Bloomberg reports, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will bring a few key upgrades to the table. In addition to a larger display, it will also shift to an upgraded OLED panel with wider viewing angles. More importantly, Apple will reportedly go for a higher refresh rate, as well, and increase the brightness output, too. The more meaningful upgrades will be support for satellite connectivity. Apple has already extended the convenience to iPhones, and it would be fitting to put it on a smartwatch that is aimed at sports and outdoor activity enthusiasts. 'The technology will let smartwatch users send off-the-grid text messages via Globalstar Inc.'s fleet of satellites when they don't have a cellular or Wi-Fi connection,' says a Bloomberg report. The report also mentions support for blood pressure monitoring, but it's unclear whether the feature will be ready for the Fall launch schedule in 2025. Another crucial upgrade would be support for 5G connectivity, marking a generational shift over the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which currently supports only 4G LTE connectivity. The third-generation Apple Watch Ultra will reportedly add support for 5G Redcap, a slightly slower 5G connectivity flavor that is suited for low-power devices. Overall, it seems like Apple's next Ultra smartwatch will be a big generation over generation upgrade despite looking the same as its predecessors.

With iOS 26 beta 5 now available to developers, Apple has added several features and made a few improvements to the iPhone software experience. However, alongside these new features, the company has also leaked an Apple Watch image with a resolution that doesn't match any of its current smartwatches. The most likely explanation is that this image is a reference to the long-anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3. According to MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, the image features a resolution of 422 x 512, which might be also be the resolution of the unannounced Apple Watch Ultra 3. As a point of comparison, the current Ultra 2 features a 410 x 502 resolution display. While it's unlikely that Apple will change the casing of the Apple Watch, it's possible that the company will make the bezels thinner, which could make the display slightly larger. Over the years, we've seen Apple make slight adjustments to the display, which helps make the Apple Watch experience more immersive and shows users more data at a glance. While the watch is expected to adopt 5G RedCap, which is a low-tier 5G service, it will be much faster than current cellular speeds. Blood pressure tracking: The journalist also believes Apple will add blood pressure tracking support on this model. At first, this technology will only indicate if one's blood pressure is in a normal range, similar to the sleep apnea detection feature. Improved display: The Apple Watch Ultra 3 should have the same display tech as the Apple Watch Series 10, which lets the display refresh every second, showing the seconds of the Watch Face without compromising battery life. Better processor: The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to get a new S11 SoC, which could be optimized to run some of the less-taxing AI features. Impressive battery life: To maintain the impressive battery life of the previous Apple Watch Ultra models, the company will have to continue to improve hardware and software features.
