Did Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner work on Taylor Swift's album? Who is Max Martin?

It's a big day for Swifties: TS12 is coming. Taylor Swift officially announced she is releasing her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," in a "New Heights" podcast teaser, released at 12:12 a.m. ET Aug. 12. In her recent eras, Swift has worked with producers Jack Antonoff and Cincinnati native Aaron Dessner. So did they have any involvement in this upcoming record? Here's what we know. Did Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner produce Taylor Swift's new album? This could not be 100% confirmed, as of Aug. 12, although rumors and speculation point to Antonoff and Dessner being absent from this album, and Max Martin and Shellback taking over producing duties. Swift also launched a Spotify playlist Tuesday titled "And, baby, that's show business for you," which has 22 of her songs that were all produced by Max Martin and Shellback, according to Billboard. That's not to say, even if Dessner and Antonoff aren't listed on the initial tracks, that Swift could not release surprise or deluxe songs with her longtime producers. Who is Max Martin? Who is Shellback? Martin is a producer who has worked on numerous pop hits with the likes of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Ariana Grande and NSYNC. In 2024, he broke the record for most No. 1 songs by a producer in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Martin co-wrote and produced songs on Swift's "Red," "1989" and "Reputation" albums. Shellback is also a producer who has worked with pop superstars, including Swift, Adele and more. He has won four Grammy awards and also worked on "Red and "1989." What Taylor Swift albums did Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner produce? Antonoff has worked on every Swift album since (and including) "1989." Dessner has been part of "Folklore," "Evermore," the 3am edition of "Midnights," "The Tortured Poets Department" and various vault tracks. When does Taylor Swift's new album drop? When is she on 'New Heights'? Everything to know

Swifties, a new era has entered the chat. Pop superstar Taylor Swift confirmed the release of her new album "The Life of a Showgirl" on a "New Heights" podcast teaser released at 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12. In the video, Swift pulled out a blurred-out album cover for her new project, stating, "This is my brand-new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl.'" It was also confirmed that Swift would appear on the podcast on Aug. 13, after the "New Heights" social media accounts posted another quick promotional video with the pop star and Kelce on the mic together. But when does "The Life of a Showgirl" come out? When does Swift's "New Heights" podcast episode drop? Here's what we know. When does 'The Life of a Showgirl' come out? When is Taylor Swift releasing a new album? A release date for Swift's new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has yet to be announced. However, Swift's website says that the vinyls for the album will ship before Oct. 13. What is TS12? TS12 was a working title, given by fans, for Swift's 12th studio album. How many albums does Taylor Swift have? Swift currently has 11 albums, with "The Tortured Poets Department" being her latest release. "The Life of a Showgirl" would be the pop star's 12th album. When does the 'New Heights' podcast drop? The "New Heights" podcast episode featuring Swift will drop on Wednesday, Aug. 13. The 13th is apropos for an announcement as it is Swift's favorite number. The announcement also comes in perfect time for Kelce's 13th year playing football. What time does the 'New Heights podcast come out? Fans can tune in Aug. 13 for a 7 p.m. ET drop. Where to watch 'New Heights' podcast New episodes drop on the podcast's YouTube channel, and can be listened to through Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Easter eggs that led Swifties to TS12 speculation Taylor Nation, the singer's in-house marketing and public relations team, created a 12-photo carousel on Instagram on Monday morning. That number is important to note, as 13 is famously known to be Swift's favorite number. So, why stop short? It could be because her next album would signal her 12th era. "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…'" the caption said alongside an array of orange Eras Tour looks. The post ended with a burning heart emoji. The post erupted. In less than 10 minutes, the Instagram post had been shared more than 10,000 times with fans screaming, shouting and throwing up in the comments. Even Republic Records, the record label repping Swift, commented a burning heart emoji. Speculation of a new album also rose because Taylor Nation solely posted photos of the pop star's orange Eras Tour outfits. Why does this matter? Fans have long theorized Swift had an album called "Karma" that was scrapped and that orange was the album's accompanying color. Up until 2016, Swift had released an album every two years, so fans believed "Karma" would be the next album in her discography after "1989," but she took a hiatus and didn't release an album until "Reputation" in 2017. The "Karma" theory still existed, but wasn't fully revived until the release of "Midnights," which featured a song called "Karma." It could all be pure coincidence, but Swifites know better than that. With Swift, everything is calculated. She is the "Mastermind," after all. Additionally, Swift's boyfriend, University of Cincinnati alum Travis Kelce, also added fuel to the speculation fire. "New Heights," Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast, revealed its releasing a show early for a "special episode with a VERY special guest." Travis Kelce also shared the image on his Instagram. Some fans have speculated Swift will be joining the brothers' podcast after eagle-eyed Swifties caught that Jason Kelce was sporting Eras Tour merch, and because Travis was smiling ear-to-ear in the episode's promo image. "92%ers, we're coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest," the accounts said. The photo includes a black silhouette and a bedazzled orange background. Jason Kelce is donning what looks like an Eras Tour midnight blue sweater. There has been a wide range of other Easter eggs that have led Swifties to believe TS12 is nearly upon us. Here are just a few examples. When she praised Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's new album "I Said I Love You First" on her Instagram Story, Swift used 12 d's in "oh my godddddddddddd." To tease her return to the United States for the Eras Tour, Swift held her cat Meredith in Hard Rock Stadium's A12 section. Swift's earrings at the Grammys had 12 red rubies. In the letter announcing the ownership of her masters, she had 12 i's in "thiiiiiiiiiiiis." The letterhead included a new "TS" diamond logo with 12 segments. Who runs Taylor Nation? Taylor Nation, which includes social media accounts that post updates on Swift, merch deals, videos and more, is run by the singer's in-house marketing and public relations team, per Swift's fandom site. USA Today's Bryan West, Mary Clarke and Caroline Darney contributed to this report. This article originally appeared on Cincinnati Enquirer: When does Taylor Swift's new album drop? Taylor Swift announces new album The Life of a Showgirl

Taylor Swift has announced her next album, The Life of a Showgirl. Swift is known for dropping hints and clues for her fans ahead of announcements and this one was no different. On Monday night, a countdown to 12.12am eastern time on 12 August appeared on her website, transformed to a glittering orange. On Instagram, Taylor Nation – a branch of Swift's official marketing team – shared a carousel of 12 images from the Eras Tour, writing in the caption: 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era … '' It was also announced that Swift will appear on her partner Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights on Wednesday. Eagle-eyed Swifties noticed the silhouette of Swift was taken from her Variety Directors on Directors appearance, which premiered on 12 December 2022. The Variety recording was connected to All Too Well: The Short Film, which was released on 12 November 2021. At 12.12am Swift's website briefly crashed, before reappearing with scant details about The Life of a Showgirl. The album has no confirmed release date. Swift's website states that it will be shipped before 13 October, with the caveat: '**THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE DATE, OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED**.' The New Heights podcast later shared a clip of Swift's appearance, in which she opens a briefcase and takes out a blurred vinyl. 'This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,' she said, while Kelce's brother and co-host Jason screamed. This article includes content provided by Instagram. The 35-year-old is among the world's bestselling musicians, selling an estimated 200m records globally and holds the record for most No 1 albums in the US by a female artist in history. Her global Eras tour became the first billion-dollar tour in history, selling 2.4m tickets in a single day, and made more than US$2bn over 21 months. Forbes estimated Swift earned $10m-$13m (£8m-£10m) a night. Her last album, 2024's The Tortured Poets Department, set a streaming record on Spotify – 300m in one day and 1bn in five – and made her the first artist in history to secure the top 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. In May, Swift bought back the master recordings to her first six albums, giving her control over her entire catalogue for the first time. The singer signed with her first label, Big Machine, in 2005, at the age of 15, giving them the rights to her master recordings. In 2019, label head Scott Borchetta sold those six albums to music executive Scooter Braun, who sold them to the private equity firm Shamrock Capital for a reported $300m. To regain control over her catalogue after the sale to Braun – and to devalue his investment – Swift embarked on a project to rerecord all six albums, rebranding each one as '(Taylor's Version)' and adding 'From the Vault' tracks from the original songwriting sessions that hadn't made it on to the original albums. 'I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,' she wrote in a letter to fans in May, after buying her catalogue back from Shamrock Capital. 'But that's all in the past now. All of the music I've ever made … now belongs … to me.' Reputation and Swift's self-titled debut album, from 2006, are the only albums not to be rerecorded, with fans speculating as to their possible release dates for years. Despite the project now being essentially redundant, it is likely both will have a Taylor's Version released anyway as Swift remains one of the biggest and most lucrative musical acts in the history of music.
