Battelle Announces the Publication of its 2024 Consensus-Based Entity (CBE) Annual Report to Congress and the Secretary of Health and Human Services

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Battelle, serving as a consensus-based entity (CBE), announced today the release of its 2024 Annual Report to Congress and the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The report highlights the significant progress and process improvements Battelle and its Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) have made in advancing health care quality measurement and improvement. "HHS appreciates the efforts that the CBE has made to support our mutual commitment to promoting a resilient, high value, and safe health care system for all Americans,' wrote HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., in his comments on the report. The 2024 Annual Report details Battelle's achievements in four key areas: Endorsement and Maintenance (E&M) of clinical quality measures, Pre-Rulemaking Measure Review (PRMR), Measure Set Review (MSR), and the Core Quality Measures Collaborative. In 2024 Battelle enhanced engagement and reduced committee burden by optimizing meeting schedules and voting structures for E&M committees. Public participation in the PRMR process was also robust, with 239 written and 51 verbal comments submitted by 234 professional organizations and 56 patients or patient representatives. 'HHS and the CBE both recognize the importance of clinical quality and cost/resource use measures in improving U.S. health care,' noted Kennedy. 'Maintaining these measures through transparent, periodic, and consensus-based reviews is critical for ensuring health care quality performance can not only be measured but can also be improved upon.' 'This report reflects the collective commitment of Battelle and PQM members to advancing a more transparent, streamlined, and evidence-driven approach to health care quality,' said Nicole Brennan, MPH, DrPH, Executive Director of PQM. 'We are proud to support HHS in ensuring that quality measures are not only scientifically sound but also meaningful to patients, providers, and policymakers alike.' Global Gold Demand Rises in Q2 Despite Decline in Central Bank Purchases

Waleed Farouk A report released Thursday by the World Gold Council revealed an increase in global demand for gold during the second quarter of 2025, driven by a surge in investment demand despite a slowdown in central bank purchases. According to the report, total global demand for gold — including over-the-counter (OTC) trading — rose by 3% year-on-year to reach 1,248.8 tonnes in Q2, supported by a 78% increase in investment demand. However, central bank purchases saw a notable decline, with acquisitions totaling 166.5 tonnes during the second quarter — roughly one-third less than in the first quarter. This pullback led to the lowest first-half purchase levels by central banks since 2022. In terms of consumption, global demand for gold jewelry dropped by 14% to 341.0 tonnes, marking its lowest level since the third quarter of 2020. Commenting on the findings, John Reade, Chief Market Strategist at the World Gold Council, explained that when gold prices rise significantly, the incentive for central banks to increase their holdings weakens. He noted that the rapid price gains have prompted concerns about potential price corrections, which in turn dampened demand, according to remarks reported by Bloomberg. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Egypt, UAE Coordinate to Supply 2 Million Gallons of Water Daily to Gaza Residents

Taarek Refaat The United Arab Emirates and Egypt are intensifying their humanitarian coordination to deliver 2 million gallons of potable water daily to residents of the Gaza Strip, as part of a broader joint relief effort, UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Sultan Al Shamsi announced on Wednesday. Speaking during a live phone interview with Egypt's Sada El-Balad TV, Al Shamsi highlighted the ongoing water desalination efforts aimed at serving over one million Gazans. Plans are underway to expand the water supply line deeper into central Gaza. Al Shamsi revealed that 5,000 tons of Emirati aid are currently staged in El Arish, Egypt, awaiting entry into Gaza. Additionally, 143 trucks loaded with food supplies, medical equipment, and water are part of the relief convoy. 'Providing safe drinking water is our top priority in Gaza right now,' said Al Shamsi, underlining that access to clean water remains one of the most critical challenges in the besieged enclave. He also confirmed the presence of a floating Emirati hospital stationed in El Arish, as well as a field hospital inside Gaza, which have together supported the treatment of over 2,600 patients and companions from Gaza in the UAE. Al Shamsi addressed circulating reports about the closure of the Rafah border crossing, categorically denying them: 'I have seen with my own eyes that the crossing is open on the Egyptian side,' he stated. He also dismissed what he described as "rumors" intended to undermine relief operations, affirming that no misinformation campaign would halt the humanitarian support being provided by both Egypt and the UAE. 'Whatever is being said, we will continue our mission. Egypt and the UAE are committed to helping the Palestinian people,' he said. The Gaza Strip has been grappling with acute shortages in water, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies due to ongoing conflict and restricted access points. The UAE and Egypt's joint efforts are seen as a vital humanitarian lifeline, offering both immediate relief and infrastructure-based solutions. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Euro Slips Against Egyptian Pound to 56.25

Taarek Refaat The euro weakened slightly against the Egyptian pound on Wednesday, following several consecutive sessions of strength in the local market. This comes amid ongoing volatility in global currency markets and cautious sentiment surrounding Egypt's economic trajectory in the second half of the year. According to official data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the euro was trading at EGP 56.61 for buying and EGP 56.25 for selling, a modest drop from earlier levels this week when the European currency had climbed in response to international economic developments. At the retail level, leading public banks in Egypt echoed the downward shift. Both the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr quoted the euro at EGP 57.17 to buy and EGP 57.41 to sell, reflecting a slight easing from earlier highs. Foreign exchange dealers noted that demand for the euro had slowed following a surge earlier in July, driven by tourism season inflows and expectations of a rate hike by the European Central Bank (ECB), which ultimately fell short of market expectations, in addition to remittances from Egyptian expats. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
