Ajit Pawar in fix over NCP MLA Kokate's resignation for playing rummy in assembly

MUMBAI: Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, led NCP, is divided over sacking agriculture minister and NCP MLA Manikrao Kokate over his playing online rummy during the state legislative assembly's monsoon session that recently concluded. The people close to DCM Ajit Pawar said that Mr Pawar this time decided to give reprieve to Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate as a last chance to improve his conduct as minister and avoid stoking the controversy further. 'Ajit Pawar has taken the feedback from Mr Kokate's department, and the majority of the staffers gave positive feedback about the minister and his warm and friendly style. Mr Kokate's led agriculture department was in the top five departments in the chief minister's 100 days program because of its several initiatives and schemes for the farmers. The chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, is personally happy with Kokate's performance as minister and his work, but not happy with his controversial remarks. The minister has also started cleaning the system and bringing new ideas and innovations, such as the use of artificial intelligence on a larger scale that will not only reduce the input cost but also increase production as well. This AI will give multiple benefits to farmers,' said a person who requested anonymity. He further added Mr Kokate was only minister who sought IAS officer V Radha as secretary of his department. 'Mr Kokate has even wrote letter to chief minister getting V Radha as secretary of his agriculture department. Otherwise, most of the ministers asks for her transfer from their department because of her non nonsense approach towards the corruptions and malpractice. No ministers want the upright officer, but here Mr Kokate turned the exception. V Radha was given another assignment therefore she could join agriculture department. But this right approach of Mr Kokate is appreciated,'' said senior government officer adding in six months period, agriculture ministry has credited Rs 46,000 crore in 1.2 crore farmers bank account as financial assistance.

CM Siddaramaiah snaps as crowd backs MLA Shivalingegowda for cabinet post

ARASIKERE: Raising of slogans and blowing of whistles by fans at public gatherings is common for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah when he reaches the podium to address public functions. Usually, he continues the speech, taking it slightly in almost all public functions. In a surprise development, the CM on Saturday lost his temper and stopped his speech in the halfway and returned to his chair while addressing the mammoth gathering in Arasikere town on Saturday. CM Siddaramaiah, who inaugurated development works worth over Rs 500 crores here, was upset when the supporters of local MLA KM Shivalingegowda continuously raised slogans in favour of their leader, demanding a ministerial berth. Angry Siddaramaiah stopped his speech in the middle and moved towards his chair. Shocked by the development, local MLA KM Shivalingegowda and the district in-charge minister rushed to Siddaramaiah and pacified him. Both KN Rajanna and KM Shivalingegowda took the crowd to task for the incident. Finally, the CM returned to the podium and continued his speech only after the crowd was stopped from raising slogans. The CM said that giving a cabinet berth to Shivalingegowda is not in his hands. The high command has to make a decision in this regard. It is not fair to discuss such matters publicly. Indirectly giving clues about cabinet berth to KM Shivalingegowda he said that K Shivalingegowda has a bright future and also has all the qualities to become the minister. He also has asked the crowd to maintain the silence if you support KM Shivalingegowda. Siddaramaiah has lauded Shivalingegowda for his commitment towards development of the constituency represented consecutively for four times. He urged the people to maintain the same rapport and support Shivalingegowda in all aspects, and also re-elect him in the 2028 assembly election too. The CM said that KM Shivalingegowda is one of the best and popular legislators in the state. Earlier housing minister BZ Zameer Ahmed also has urged the CM and the DCM to give a cabinet berth to KM Shivalingegowda in the interest of the party. Aides of Karnataka chief minister, deputy chief minister clash in Delhi

Bengaluru/New Delhi: A turf war between Karnataka's top political bosses spilled over into a dramatic public spat in Delhi on Friday, as aides of chief minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar clashed inside Karnataka Bhavan, prompting formal complaints and calls for an inquiry. According to multiple sources, the incident involved C Mohan Kumar, special duty officer (SDO) to the CM, and H Anjaneya, SDO to the DCM. The confrontation reportedly heated up when Mohan Kumar shouted at Anjaneya: "I will remove my boot and hit you." This was allegedly said in front of other govt staff. Anjaneya, in response, filed a formal complaint with the additional resident commissioner (ARC) and Karnataka chief secretary Shalini Rajneesh, seeking action against Mohan Kumar for issuing threats.
