Beloved PlayStation Video Game Getting Movie
has released several TV shows and films based on its beloved franchises. From The Last of Us to Until Dawn, the company doesn't seem afraid to bring even its less popular properties to life. That notion seems to continue if a recent report is believed to be true. The Last Guardian film is in the works According to video games insider DanielRPK, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are making a film adaptation of Fumito Ueda's acclaimed PS4 action-adventure game, The Last Guardian. There are no additional details about the project, which may indicate that the film is in the early stages of development. Fumito Ueda is an iconic and influential game developer known for the critically acclaimed games Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. His games are known for a distinct style, featuring vast landscapes with gameplay that complements their unique storytelling. In terms of cinematics, a film based on The Last Guardian has the potential to look incredible. How they attempt to tell that tale without the viewer making that connection with Trico, the ginormous dog bird that helps the player move through the ancient ruins, through gameplay will be interesting to see. For those unaware of The Last Guardian, here is a brief description of the game: 'In a strange and mystical land, a young boy discovers a mysterious creature with which he forms a deep, unbreakable bond. The unlikely pair must rely on each other to escape towering, treacherous ruins filled with unknown dangers. Experience the journey of a lifetime in this touching, emotional story of friendship and trust.' When The Last Guardian launched for PS4 back in 2016, it was met with favorable reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 82 across 110 critic reviews. In our review, we gave it a 10 out of 10. As mentioned earlier, PlayStation Productions has released several projects based on its iconic catalog of games. The last film the company released was based on the Supermassive horror adventure game Until Dawn, and is currently available to stream on Netflix. The last television series released was Twisted Metal Season 2, which is currently seven episodes in and is available to stream on Peacock. The company also has Horizon, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima adaptations in the works. Originally reported by Michael Ruiz on PlayStation LifeStyle. Robert Downey Jr may return as Doctor Doom after Avengers Secret Wars
Marvel Studios may not be finished with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom after the upcoming Avengers films, according to a new report. According to scooper DanielRPK, Marvel is considering extending Downey Jr.'s involvement as Doom beyond Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). Marvel's decision to cast Downey Jr.—famously known for his portrayal of Iron Man—as Doctor Doom marks a bold creative shift as the studio repositions itself following the Infinity Saga. While Thanos was teased over several years and gradually built into a franchise-defining villain, Doctor Doom will have a much shorter runway, having only recently been teased in newer films. Originally, Kang the Conqueror was expected to serve as the next central antagonist. However, behind-the-scenes challenges and lukewarm audience reception reportedly led to Marvel rethinking its long-term narrative plans. Now, with Doctor Doom set to debut in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel is already weighing the potential of keeping Downey Jr. in the role for future projects beyond Secret Wars. If true, this could suggest the character survives those events or returns through a multiverse scenario—a tactic common in comic adaptations but sometimes criticized for reducing narrative stakes. If Doctor Doom remains central to the MCU, it raises questions about the financial sustainability of continuing with Downey Jr. The actor is reportedly earning over $80 million for the two Avengers films, with total compensation potentially exceeding $100 million. Keeping him on board would require a substantial ongoing investment. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Whether Downey Jr. stays on long-term could significantly influence the future tone and structure of Marvel's next saga.

New Spider-Man rumor hints at Norman Osborn's MCU debut
A new rumor has sparked excitement among Marvel fans, suggesting that Norman Osborn—better known as the Green Goblin—may finally be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to trusted insider DanielRPK, Marvel Studios is planning to introduce Osborn into the MCU timeline, though it's unclear whether he'll first appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day or a future installment. While previous Spider-Man films in the MCU have focused on lesser-known villains like Mysterio, Vulture, and Shocker, fans have long awaited the arrival of classic rogues like Norman Osborn. Spider-Man: No Way Home teased the character's presence through Willem Dafoe's return as a multiversal Green Goblin, but many fans saw it as a missed opportunity for a fully integrated version of Osborn in the MCU continuity. The potential introduction of a new Norman Osborn could open fascinating storylines—particularly if Peter Parker, now aware of Osborn's villainous fate in other universes, tries to prevent it. Some theories even suggest Peter's interference may lead to someone else, such as Ned Leeds or Harry Osborn, becoming the new Green Goblin instead. Adding to the intrigue, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already rumored to feature crossovers with characters like the Punisher and a more savage version of the Hulk. Introducing Norman Osborn in this complex web of narratives could elevate the stakes significantly. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. As speculation swirls, fans eagerly await official confirmation on whether the MCU is finally ready to unleash its own version of the Green Goblin.

Marvel's MIDNIGHT SONS Movie Gets Promising Update — GeekTyrant
It looks like Marvel Studios is finally moving forward with its long-teased Midnight Sons movie. According to industry insider DanielRPK, Marvel has officially brought a writer on board to start scripting the film. There's no director, cast, or release date yet, and Marvel hasn't said a word publicly, but internally, it seems like the project is in early development. While there are obviously no plot details, it was previously reported that Ghost Rider could take the lead on the team. It would be wild to see the the flaming-skulled antihero leading the supernatural squad. Nicolas Cage famously played the character in Sony's Ghost Rider films, but it safe to assume that Marvel will cast someone else in the film. A Samurai variant of Ghost Rider did show up (very briefly) in the What If...? season 2 finale, but it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of appearance. The original Midnight Sons series was created by Howard Mackie, Andy Kubert, and Bobby Chase and brought together other characters like Blade, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and Elsa Bloodstone. With Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, and Agatha All Along already dipping their toes into Marvel's darker side, it's not too far-fetched to imagine these characters sharing the screen in something wickedly unholy. Still, it's all quiet on the official front. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm any of this, and the supernatural corner of the MCU remains largely undefined. But if this report holds, it looks like they're finally building toward something, and Midnight Sons could be the big, weird, ghost-fueled culmination of it all.

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Rumored Leak Could Reveal Major Spoilers
Fans are eager to see how the upcoming fourth MCU Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day , will follow the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming , Spider-Man: Far From Home , and Spider-Man: No Way Home . Obviously there are some massive shoes to fill, especially with No Way Home having several continuities thrown into the mix. Now offering fans some insight, it looks like a rumored leak for Spider-Man: Brand New Day could reveal how the new sequel will up the ante with some potential spoilers. It's already been revealed that not only will Tom Holland return as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man for the new follow-up, but that he'll be joined by none other than Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Bernthal previously played the role in Daredevil , his own Punisher series, and Daredevil: Born Again . Now, according to a surprising rumor, he'll be joined by another major MCU character. Obviously this has yet to be confirmed, but with Jon Bernthal joining a Spider-Man movie, anything is possible. And if this scoop from an insider is accurate, then fans could see the kind of Spider-Man movie they've been hoping to see on the big screen. Especially for fans of the comics that often see the kind of team-ups that Richtman is reporting could happen here. According to DanielRPK, he claims to 'have confirmed [that] at least part of the movie is Spider-Man and Punisher teaming up to fight Savage Hulk.' While this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, it would certainly be a great way to have the two characters team-up. Fans are also eager to see the Hulk returned to his former, angrier self, so this could be a great way to do so. Richtman also claims that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will include elements of a Gang War and that's why Savage Hulk is allegedly unleashed in the first place, in an effort to make things harder for our hero characters. Hopefully more information will be shared soon, but it sounds like Brand New Day could be shaping up to be a great follow-up to the previous trilogy of Marvel Spider-Man films if this leak is accurate. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated sequel as we have them.
