Trap & Tuxedos: Jeezy Releasing ‘TM:101 Live' A Symphonic Reimagining Of Hip-Hop History' Album, Soul Survivor Selling Out Orchestra Tour Dates

Twenty years ago, the trapper of the year four times in a row dropped Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 and changed the course of Hip-Hop. Now, The Snowman is back, this time with strings attached. Source: Frazer Harrison / Getty On July 26, the exact anniversary of his groundbreaking debut, Jeezy will release TM:101 Live — A Symphonic Reimagining of Hip-Hop History—a powerful, poetic, and polished rework of his genre-defining album. The reissue promises to be a cinematic, soul-stirring celebration of trap music's legacy, complete with a full orchestra. Source: Courtesy / Def Jam Recordings According to an official press release, Jeezy teamed up with GRAMMY and EMMY-winning musical director Adam Blackstone and acclaimed composer Derrick Hodge to reimagine his street anthems alongside the Color of Noize Orchestra. Classics like 'Soul Survivor', 'Go Crazy', 'My Hood,' and Trap or Die have been transformed into lush, layered orchestral compositions that still pack every ounce of their original grit, just dressed in grandeur. Now, TM:101 Live serves as living proof that trap music was always symphonic; it just needed a conductor like Jeezy to bring it to life in a new dimension. '20 years in the game, it's more than music—it's purpose. And that is and always has been to inspire and elevate the culture!' said Jeezy in an official statement about the album. 'Thank you to those who never stop believing!' And for the vinyl heads, Jeezy is announcing that TM:101 Live will drop on two exclusive pressings: a limited edition orange vinyl (just 300 copies via Fat Beats) and a purple version available at Urban Outfitters. The album will also hit all major streaming platforms. In addition to the album, Jeezy is continuing to bring Black-tie elegance to Hip-Hop, turning concert halls into sanctuaries of street symphonies with his Jeezy's TM:101 Live tour, a black-tie symphonic experience that has been moving audiences from Miami to Detroit. A press release reports that most dates have sold out, which serves as a testament to the hunger for real hip-hop, presented with the reverence it has always deserved. '20 years of victories, struggles, and growth—every setback was worth it,' said Jeezy about TM: 101 Live. 'If I could talk to my younger self in '05, I'd say: 'They might hear you in '05, but in 2025, they gon' feel you!' You're doing God's work! Keep going!' Pre-Order Jeezy's TM 101: Live HERE. Hailey Bieber seemingly takes dig at Scooter Braun after ex manager praises Justin's new album

Hailey Bieber appeared to send a veiled message on Instagram shortly after Scooter Braun praised Justin Bieber's new album Swag. On Saturday, she posted a selfie with exaggerated facial features and added Mariah Carey's 'Obsessed', leading fans to believe that she was mocking or making subtle jabs at her husband's former manager. Photo: Instagram The timing raised eyebrows, as the post followed Braun's Instagram Story where he described Swag as 'beautiful, raw, and truly him.' He continued, 'There comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own — and that's what he's done here,' adding, 'I've played no role in this one, but as someone who's always believed in him, I'm incredibly proud.' Photo: Instagram While Braun framed his message as supportive, Hailey's light-hearted yet pointed post was interpreted by many as a dig. The song choice and exaggerated expression seemed anything but coincidental. The post also came just days after Justin and Braun reportedly settled a financial dispute, with the pop star agreeing to pay Braun $26 million plus additional commissions. According to reports, Braun's company Hybe helped Justin cover debt from a cancelled 2022 tour. Justin's seventh studio album Swag dropped Friday via Def Jam Recordings, but the online response also reignited public interest in his strained ties with Braun.

Justin Bieber releases 'Swag,' his long-awaited seventh album: Hear the best songs

'Inspired by his devotion as a husband and father, this new era of music has fueled a deeper perspective and more reflective sound, resulting in some of his most personal music yet,' Def Jam Recordings said of the 21-track album read more Never say never! Justin Bieber surprised fans Friday by releasing 'Swag,' his seventh studio album, hours after he teased it on billboards and social media posts. It is his first album since 2021's 'Justice' and his first since becoming a father last year. 'Inspired by his devotion as a husband and father, this new era of music has fueled a deeper perspective and more reflective sound, resulting in some of his most personal music yet,' Def Jam Recordings said of the 21-track album. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Billboards depicting Bieber were found by fans Thursday in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Los Angeles. The singer also shared images of billboards on his official Instagram account along with a tracklist that included song names like 'All I Can Take,' 'Walking Away,' 'Dadz Love' and 'Forgiveness.' Recommendations for an intimate new album There's a lot to love across the 21-tracks of the intimate 'Swag.' Here are a few choice cuts. 1. 'Daises' — The second track on the album may very well be its strongest; an exemplar in Bieber's slow-burn brand of alternative R&B-pop, now anchored with lo-fi guitar. Here, his sweet voice is pronounced — exactly what his most dedicated fans want to hear. 2. 'Devotion' ft. Dijon — Dijon is a rising R&B voice; some fans might be familiar with his 2021 debut album 'Absolutely' or his contribution to Bon Iver's'SABLE, fABLE' from earlier this year. He makes for a standout collaboration on 'Swag,' a sweet song about deepening affection. 3. 'Go Baby' - Bieber married the model Hailey Bieber (nee Baldwin) in 2018; she's long been source material for his most loving tracks. 'Go Baby' is a standout for that reason. 'That's my baby, she's iconic,' he opens the track, 'iPhone case, lip gloss on it,' referencing her Rhode skincare and beauty brand, which sold to Elf Beauty in a $1 billion deal. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 4. 'Walking Away' - Marriage isn't easy; that's clear on 'Walking Away,' a slightly-more-uptempo track where Bieber makes his dedication evident. It's the perfect song for dancing in the kitchen with your partner. Bieber before 'Swag' Bieber, the two-time Grammy Award winning singer and Canadian pop idol who revolutionized teen pop and social media fame, is best known for his silky R&B pop lyric tenor, demonstrated on the diamond-selling 'Baby,' 'Sorry,' and 'Stay' with the Kid Laroi. At the beginning of his career, and as a tween, Bieber began working with Usher and the influential music manager Scooter Braun. In 2023, Bieber sold the rights to his music — all six of his albums, including hits like 'Sorry' and 'Baby' — to Hipgnosis, a U.K-based music investment company. The deal's financial details were not disclosed, but Billboard Magazine reports that the sale was worth an estimated $200 million. In August 2024, Justin and Hailey Bieber announced the birth of their first child, Jack Blues Bieber.

Scooter Braun heaps praise on Justin Bieber's new album

Scooter Braun has gushed over Justin Bieber's new album calling it "the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date". "It's beautiful, raw, and truly him. And that matters," Bieber's former manager posted on Instagram Stories on Saturday. Noting that he had the "privilege of witnessing" the singer's "growth" for nearly two decades, Braun then wrote that "there comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own - and that's what he's done here". "He poured his soul into this project, and you can feel it in every single run," Bieber's former mentor continued. The record exec added, "I've played no role in this one, but as someone who's always believed in him, I'm incredibly proud and impressed and genuinely enjoying the music." Braun singled out Daisies as his favourite track on the album, which was released Friday, and urged his followers to "stream Swag and support an authentic voice". The effusive praise comes after Bieber and Braun settled a weighty financial matter earlier this week. Bieber had reportedly owed Braun around $30 million (£22 million) following his cancellation of his Justice tour amid complications from shingles in 2023. Bieber paid off the debt, then dropped his seventh studio album, Swag, via Def Jam Recordings, on Friday.

Justin Bieber releases first new album in four years called 'Swag'

Singer Justin Bieber has released his first new album in four years called "Swag". The 21-track seventh LP was released in a surprise drop on Friday and sees the singer reflect on his experiences as a husband and father, following online speculation around his marriage to wife Hailey Bieber. It comes after the 31-year-old began to post teasers on Instagram last night as mysterious billboards were erected in locations around the world, with the new album described as "some of his most personal music yet". In May this year, Hailey, who is the daughter of US actor Stephen Baldwin and has been married to Bieber since 2018, told Vogue that postpartum life had been "very difficult", describing constant internet rumours as a "crazy life to live". She said giving birth to the couple's son, Jack Blues Bieber, in August last year was one of the "hardest things" she has ever done after going through an 18-hour labour. Track titles on the new record include "Therapy Session", "Dadz Love" and "Devotion". "Swag" follows 2021's "Justice" album, which featured singles "HoldOn", "Peaches" and "Anyone", and was made in collaboration with Carter Lang, Dylan Wiggins, Daniel Caesar, Dijon, Daniel Chetrit, Eddie Benjamin, and Knox Fortune. The record is being released on the Def Jam Recordings label. The Canadian singer began his career in his early teens. He is best known for songs such as "Baby", "What Do You Mean" and "Sorry". Bieber has been nominated for 23 Grammy Awards and has won two, for best country duo/group performance for "10,000 Hours" with Dan + Shay and best dance recording for "Where Are U Now", recorded with EDM duo JackU, composed of DJs Skrillex and Diplo. Bieber also recently launched his clothing and lifestyle brand SKYLRK. —PA Media/dpa
