The internet exploded, with fans going crazy over the unexpected star-studded lineup and Tyler's bold, carefree spirit. Sure, everyone – and we do mean everyone – knows the cars. The racing history, the association with luxury, these things are constants. But in the modern age, for one brand to house elements as disparate as a theme park, a Formula One team, and a carbon fibre chess set and still hold onto a coherent image is quite a feat. More so when you consider that for most people, even the most foundational element of the Ferrari brand, the cars themselves, are just an idea. The F40 is one of the most recognisable and well-loved vehicles ever made, but Ferrari only made 1,311 of them. Which means for the other, ooh, several million fans who don't have one out in the garage, it's just a notion. The only place most of us can drive one is in games. Advertisement - Page continues below With that idea front of mind, that owning these cars is only possible in the virtual realm for the majority, there's a feeling of significance to Ferrari's partnership with The Crew Motorfest, which brings a new playlist of content to the live service racer and a digitised museum experience. The manufacturer's never been especially shy about licensing its cars in games, but this feels different. It begins with Michele Pignatti Morano, the director of the Enzo Ferrari museum, telling you about the vehicle you're about to drive. How and why each of the era-defining supercars were conceived and engineered, and what kind of legacy they've created for themselves since they launched. It feels like a fireside chat after a lavish dinner, and Pignatti Morano's insights have a way of conveying what makes Ferrari special: the passion. And moments later when you get into the car, that's when this Season 7 content for Motorfest feels special. There have been F40s in games since there have been F40s and games, and in fact this model was already in Motorfest before this new Ferrari playlist was added. It's not even one of the newly added models, but the lead up to driving one has been framed in such a way that this time, sitting behind the virtual wheel of one feels somehow more authentic. You're almost starstruck. As for the new cars - the GTO, F50 and that newfangled F80 with its controversial, mascara-like streak of black running across the front section, they feel just as momentous to drive. And it's not just that they're quick, and follow the curve of a corner like the hem of a perfectly tailored Italian suit. It's the little details. Advertisement - Page continues below A new soundtrack, written and recorded especially for this playlist, uses lively string arrangements to conjure Vivaldi and Rossini without landing on the specific notes of their works. The speedometers and rev counters seem to have been given extra love on your HUD, each bespoke to its vehicle and signalling the dominant design trends of the era. Even the colour grading of the image as a whole has a red hue when you're driving a race from the Ferrari playlist. Plenty of other games have Ferrari's cars, but The Crew Motorfest seems to have a little piece of the brand's pure essence. It's all leading up to your drive in the F80, the newest in Ferrari's long-running lineage of supercars. Its looks and engine specs have been divisive since the Prancing Horse drew back the veil on it in 2024, but here in Motorfest where parting with £4.2m isn't a prerequisite for owning one, you're given to take a lighthearted attitude towards its dramatic lines and enjoy the sheer plantedness as you zoom across Oahu at speeds only NASA has the equipment to accurately measure. In total, the Ferrari playlist consists of seven new main events, 25 challenges and nine other side activities, and marks the beginning of a month-long Ferrari celebration in the game, beginning on 2 July. But what it does so effectively is create the feeling of being more than the sum of its parts. You cross the finish line feeling some of the passion that built the company, and then sustained it through the decades as it grew into a global luxury brand. And then you restart the event, obviously. Because that means having another go in an F50, or a GTO, or an F80, on almost empty roads. It's too tempting to decline. After that, the rest of the season continues along a broader theme of European automotive heritage. The 'Luxury Chronicles: Europe' playlist will be added on 6 August, covering the finest gems from British, French, and German engineering. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, who recently joined the Scuderia, has already had his hands on the steering wheel of the company's most powerful road car to date: the Ferrari F80. Not long after his first day at Maranello, where he posed beside the iconic F40, Enzo Ferrari's final signed-off creation, Hamilton made headlines again by expressing a desire to one day bring a modern homage to life, rumoured to be called the 'F44'. But while that project brews in the background, Hamilton is clearly wasting no time enjoying what's already on offer. Invited by Ferrari to drive the F80 around the Fiorano test circuit, Hamilton joined current teammate Charles Leclerc for a high-speed session in the hybrid hypercar. And the verdict? As expected, glowing. 'Fastest road car I've ever been in,' the Brit enthused. This is quite a statement from someone who's piloted the Mercedes-AMG One, a car built with Formula 1 tech and a Nürburgring lap record under its belt. Clearly impressed, Hamilton even hinted at adding the F80 to his personal garage: 'Okay, I've got to order me some of these one day.' With only 799 examples planned and reportedly already spoken for, one would imagine Ferrari might still make a plan for its newest star signing. 'This is another level,' he added, calling it 'the fastest road car Ferrari has done.' Leclerc, meanwhile, is no stranger to the F80. The Monégasque driver was part of the hypercar's launch campaign, having previously driven it at Fiorano shortly after its official reveal. Before his departure from the team, Carlos Sainz Jr also sampled a camouflaged prototype and gave it his stamp of approval. Now racing for Williams, the Spaniard was one of the first to get a taste of the electrified machine. As for Hamilton, despite owning a Pagani Zonda (which he once described as 'terrible to drive' but praised for its soundtrack), the V6-powered F80 appears to have left a far greater impression, both in performance and refinement. Whether or not the F44 concept sees the light of day, the F80 is already proving a fitting welcome gift for Hamilton in red. A ROCK legend boasts a supercar collection to die for that includes a rare Ferrari and a motor from a Steve McQueen film. The Pink Floyd star also owns the world's most expensive motor worth a staggering £40 million. A rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO took pride of place among the collection as its one of only 36 ever built. It's understood Mason paid £37k for it back in 1978 but it is estimated to be worth over £40 million today. The car finished third in the 1962 Le Mans 24 Hours race before he bought it and has never been restored. Mason hosted the Middlewick House Open Garden this weekend that saw thousands attend and admire his stunning collection of vehicles. Advertisement The event's other beneficiary, Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, said more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the open garden and the attendance record is expected to be smashed this year. Last year, more than 11,000 people attended, raising a whopping £124,000 for charity. As well as the extensive car collection, guests were also able to view the air ambulance's Bell 429 helicopter with its operation aircrew due to be on-site to give people a closer look. The event also featured stalls manned by local artisans and food vendors, as well as live music, children's activities, and a play area. Advertisement The event's website said: "Wander around the beautiful gardens and menagerie of animals, as well as seeing a selection of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason's classic and high performance cars. "The family-friendly weekend includes plenty of stalls to browse, with lots of items for sale, including jewellery, plants, candles, and art." And if you haven't had enough of car collections, It includes an ultra-rare £2 million Lamborghini and iconic £1 million Ferrari.
