Pleasant weekend gives way to hotter weather in Maryland next week

Friday begins with temperatures running a few degrees cooler than Thursday morning. There are a few clouds around central Maryland. Low clouds and patchy fog are possible through sunrise. But, the forecast remains dry and pleasant through the morning commute. It's been a hazy and mostly cloudy week across Maryland. Gradual clearing remains in the First Alert Forecast as we end the workweek and head into the weekend. Sunshine sends temperatures into the mid and upper 70s by noon. We'll peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s between 3 and 5 p.m. There will be a bit more sunshine today, compared to Thursday as gradual clearing continues. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Unlike Thursday, the forecast favors completely dry weather through pre-game festivities and the game itself. After peaking in the lower 80s in Baltimore City, temperatures settle back into the 70s through the first few innings of the game. As August baseball goes, tonight's game at Camden Yards will be pleasant. Plan for temperatures in the lower 70s and dry weather as the game ends. After days of clouds, the forecast favors much sunnier weather both Saturday and Sunday. Morning temperatures bottom-out in the upper 50s and 60s Saturday and Sunday mornings. Saturday features the 'coolest' afternoon, with temperatures peaking in the low to mid-80s. Temperatures warm into the mid and upper 80s Sunday afternoon. Dry weather is in the weekend First Alert Forecast. Bay and beach conditions gradually improve through the weekend. Still, pay close attention to posted conditions and guidance along area beaches as an elevated risk of rip currents remains possible. Most neighborhoods will reach the lower 90s Monday afternoon across central Maryland. Temperatures peak in the low to mid-90s next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. With the mugginess factored in, it'll probably end up feeling hotter than 100° in may communities. A front approaches mid-week, bringing a greater chance of showers and storms as early as Wednesday. Temperatures may cool a few degrees as we end next workweek.

Pleasant Raven's game conditions are in Baltimore's forecast

Thursday begins on a mild and somewhat humid note across central Maryland. Temperatures are running from the mid-60s in Frederick, to near 70° at BWI and mid to upper 60s across the Eastern Shore. Patchy fog and low clouds are possible through sunrise across the Baltimore metro. Weather shouldn't have much of an impact on your out-the-door routine. Plan on a bit more sunshine than yesterday. Still, there will be rounds of clouds overhead. Brief and spotty rain showers are possible this afternoon. Temperatures peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s between 3 and 5 p.m. The First Alert Forecast looks great for the Raven's game at M&T Bank Stadium; dry and pleasant-feeling, with temperatures in the 70s. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The sky clears as we head into the second weekend of August. As nice as last weekend was, this coming weekend is shaping up to feature the same sort of weather. Mornings are forecast to be pleasantly cool, while afternoon features temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Humidity, however, remains low through the weekend. While warm, it won't feel too bad outside. The First Alert Forecast remains dry both Saturday and Sunday. Monday will be the first afternoon that Baltimore pushes 90°. It only gets hotter from there. Temperatures warm into the lower 90s Tuesday afternoon and mid to upper 90s Wednesday afternoon. Humidity will be more noticeable next week, as well. When factoring in the mugginess, it'll feel hotter than 100° in parts of central Maryland by Wednesday afternoon. A front approaches mid-week, just as the heat begins to get more intense. Scattered Wednesday storms should give way to slightly cooler weather again later in the week.

Resideo Technologies Inc (REZI) Q2 2025 Earnings Call Highlights: Record Revenue and Strategic ...

Release Date: August 05, 2025 For the complete transcript of the earnings call, please refer to the full earnings call transcript. Positive Points Resideo Technologies Inc (NYSE:REZI) achieved record highs in net revenue and adjusted EBITDA, exceeding the high end of their outlook range. The company reported year-over-year organic revenue growth of 10% in the ADI segment and 5% in the Products and Solutions segment. Strong demand for new products, such as the Honeywell Home Focus Pro thermostats and First Alert combined smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, contributed to revenue growth. ADI's integration of Snap One is progressing well and ahead of schedule, contributing positively to the company's performance. Resideo Technologies Inc (NYSE:REZI) raised its 2025 outlook, reflecting confidence in continued strong performance and strategic initiatives. Negative Points The market outlook remains cautious due to ongoing discussions around tariffs by the US administration, which could impact future performance. Revenue in the HVAC channel was flat to slightly down due to macroeconomic softness and disturbances from refrigerant transitions. The security channel experienced a year-over-year revenue decline, primarily due to decreased sales from a large private label customer. The Snap One business is currently flat, indicating challenges in the residential market despite integration benefits. The company recorded a GAAP net loss due to an $882 million expense related to the termination of the Honeywell indemnification agreement. Q & A Highlights Warning! GuruFocus has detected 4 Warning Signs with CLOV. Q: Can you explain the factors behind ADI's strong 10% organic growth in the second quarter, and how is Snap One performing in comparison? A: Rob Arnas, President of ADI Global Distribution, explained that about 2% of the growth was due to tariff-related price increases. The rest was driven by strong demand across categories like commercial security and professional AV. Snap One's performance is flat compared to the rest of ADI, but the integration is yielding benefits, particularly in scaling exclusive brand products to ADI's customer base. Q: How is Resideo managing the relationship with Google, especially in light of security market dynamics? A: Tom Saran, President of Products and Solutions, stated that Resideo's collaboration with Google on the First Alert SE 5 smoke detector was successful. While Google sold its security product to another party, Resideo is not competing with Google in the security market. The relationship with Google is expected to strengthen, and Resideo continues to engage with a large private label customer to maintain a long-term relationship. Q: What is the future of the Control 4 platform within Snap One, and how does it fit with ADI or PNS? A: Rob Arnas confirmed that the Control 4 platform will remain with ADI. The strategic decision aims to rejuvenate the brand and leverage its ecosystem. ADI plans to enhance the user experience with new products and the recently launched X4 operating system. Q: What are the expectations for PNS margins, and how will tariffs impact pricing strategies? A: Tom Saran indicated that PNS aims for margins in the 45-50% range over time, driven by new product introductions and manufacturing efficiencies. Regarding tariffs, Rob Arnas noted that Resideo leverages its size to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and mitigate tariff impacts through strategic pricing and inventory management. Q: What is Resideo's approach to M&A following the Snap One acquisition? A: Rob Arnas and Jay Gelmacher, CEO, emphasized that M&A remains a strategic focus for both ADI and PNS. They are exploring opportunities in adjacent categories and technology enhancements, with a strong pipeline for future acquisitions to drive growth and shareholder value. First Alert Weather Day canceled for Friday as Tri-State Area begins drying out

A First Alert Weather Day has been canceled for Friday, along with all severe weather and flood watches across the Tri-State Area. To say the least, it was an exceptionally busy day for weather across the Tri-State Area on Thursday. Not only were there numerous instances of flash flooding, some locations experienced damage from strong winds. There even was a tornado warning at one point during the afternoon, though a tornado touchdown has not been confirmed as of yet. The drenching downpours resulted in rainfall totals ranging from 3-5 inches in certain portions of the area. Thankfully, the worst is behind us, and just a few showers will continue through the night. There may be a few leftover showers early in the day on Friday, but overall, conditions look to be mostly dry, especially by the afternoon hours when the sun makes a comeback. It will also be noticeably cooler, with highs not getting out of the 70s. A persistent breeze, gusting between 20-30 mph, might even feel chilly to some people. As for the weekend, it is shaping up to be spectacular, featuring lots of sunshine, low humidity and highs in the low 80s. It could turn out to be the best weekend of the summer so far.
