Whoops! Did Apple just leak a notchless MacBook in macOS Tahoe?
Apple's latest macOS 26 Tahoe is set to release later this fall, but it's currently in a public beta, allowing curious Apple fans to test out the latest features. With the most recent update, Apple may have accidentally revealed a notchless MacBook. The potential new Apple laptop was spotted by Redditor Zealousideal-Bit-280, who shared a screenshot from the beta, which appears to show a MacBook sans notch. Interestingly, the screenshot appears to be a rather thin laptop, leading us to believe that the notchless model could be a MacBook Air or possibly an entry-level MacBook. We haven't seen a notchless MacBook since 2020. The notch arrived at a strange time with the MacBook Pro 2021, just as the company was removing the same feature from the iPhone 14 Pro models and introducing the Dynamic Island. It was not well-received. At the time, Apple claimed that the notch was a 'smart way to give you more space for your content.' 'What we've done is we've actually made the display taller,' explained Shruti Haldea, Pro Mac Product Line Manager at Apple, on the Same Brain podcast. 'Like on the 16-inch notebook, you still have a 16.0 active area on the diagonal in that 16:10-inch window, and we just grew the display up from there and put the Menu Bar up there.' Some claim not to notice the little bump out, but Apple users have been patiently waiting half a decade for Apple to get rid of the notch. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Current rumors say that the M6 MacBook Pro will feature a tandem OLED panel, similar to the one found in the M4 iPad Pro. This could spell the end of the notch with Apple moving to a punch-hole webcam, enabling the Dynamic Island to debut on a Mac. Lending further credence to this theory is the addition of Live Activities arriving in macOS Tahoe, which utilizes the Dynamic Island on your iPhone to highlight things like live sports scoring. The M6 MacBook Pro isn't expected to launch until late 2026. If this screenshot hints at a notchless entry-level or Air device, either of those could launch in October, when Apple typically debuts its newest MacBooks. Nvidia is adding DLSS 4 support to over 175 PC games — this is huge
Nvidia's DLSS 4 is now available for over 175 PC games and apps. The AI-powered frame boosting tech will also be available at launch on upcoming games like Borderlands 4 and Resident Evil Requiem, with the latter receiving path tracing. Needless to say that if you own one of the best gaming PCs packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series GPU, you're going to enjoy enhanced performance and visuals on some of the best PC games. 'DLSS 4 and path tracing are no longer cutting-edge graphical experiments — they're the foundation of modern PC gaming titles,' said Matt Wuebbling, vice president of global GeForce marketing at Nvidia, in a press release. 'Developers are embracing AI-powered rendering to unlock stunning visuals and massive performance gains, enabling gamers everywhere to experience the future of real-time graphics today.' DLSS 4 uses AI to generate up to three frames for every traditionally rendered frame. Thanks to this technology, you can see performance boosts of up to eight times over normal rendering. On top of Multi Frame Generation, games with DLSS 4 also support DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Nvidia Reflex technologies, which also help deliver performance gains and more responsive gameplay for all RTX 50-series users. Here is a list of all the new games announced at Gamescom that will support the newest RTX technologies. In September, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will add support for RTX Hair, which, as you might have guessed, is a technology that helps characters' hair look more realistic. Most of these games, such as Borderlands 4, Cinder City and The Outer Worlds 2, will also launch on the GeForce Now cloud gaming app, which now supports up to RTX 5080-class performance and lower latency. As I've written about before, DLSS 4 is an absolute game-changer for PCs with RTX 50-series GPUs, so it's great that this tech is coming to more games—especially at launch. I'm especially excited to see how well Resident Evil Requiem looks and performs with DLSS enabled. And yes, I also want to see how glorious Indiana Jones' hair will appear with RTX Hair. 'The Diplomat' season 3 release date is sooner than we thought
Get ready for another round of juicy political drama (and no, we're not just taking about the current state of the union). "The Diplomat" season 3 is returning to Netflix and, in even better news, the episodes are hitting the streaming service even earlier than we anticipated. In case you need a reminder, the hit show — which stars Golden Globe winner Keri Russell as veteran U.S. diplomat Kate Wyler, whose new posting as the ambassador to the United Kingdom has her navigating international crises, strategic alliances and her own personal marital problems (Rufus Sewell portrays Kate's husband and fellow diplomat Hal) — released its second season in October 2024, a year-and-a-half after its April 2023 debut season. However, "The Diplomat" fans won't have to wait that long for the third installment, as a newly released trailer has confirmed that the Debora Cahn-created drama will return on Thursday, October 16. Mark your calendars! The minute-long date announcement video, released by Netflix on Monday, August 18, also gives a teaser look at the new season, which will have Russell's Kate Wyler dealing with a new POTUS: Grace Penn, reprised by Oscar winner Allison Janney. "A terribly flawed woman is now president and only we know just how flawed," Kate is seen worrying in the new clip, though hubby Hal assures her, "You will be in the White House, watching what she does all the time." And, as seen in the announcement vid, Janney isn't the only major "West Wing" alum to be featured in "The Diplomat" cast this season: Emmy winner Bradley Whitford finds himself back in the governmental muck as President Grace Penn's husband, Todd Penn. 'I was thrilled when I heard that Debora [Cahn, creator, showrunner, and executive producer] was interested in me doing something,' Whitford told Tudum. 'I had no idea what it was, but I love the show. I was jealous of the writing on this show. I love Keri. I love Rufus. And I hear Allison Janney is good at acting too. It's an amazing cast.' Along with Russell, Sewell and Janney, fellow returning actors include David Gyasi as British Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison, Ali Ahn as CIA Station Chief Eidra Park, Ato Essandoh as Deputy Chief of Mission Stuart Hayford and Rory Kinnear as British Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. As for what to expect from the upcoming episodes? 'Season 3 flips the chessboard,' Cahn told Tudum. 'In Season 3, Kate lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want.' Good thing that the third season is back to an eight-episode order after its six-ep predecessor — sounds like the powers that be are going to need that extra screentime! Over 16 million PayPal accounts exposed on a hacking forum, including passwords
A post on a well-known hacking forum has claimed to have a dataset of millions of PayPal account credentials including login emails and plaintext passwords. As reported by Cybernews, the author of the post claims the stolen data was taken from May 2025 and includes 15.8 million login emails, passwords, associated URLs and variants from accounts worldwide. Having emails and passwords available online for anyone to access puts PayPal users at an obvious risk – even though many users already have multi-factor authentication enabled. The exposure of associated URLs means that attackers can also be pointed at other services that are linked to the information that has been leaked in the data breach. Likewise, the leak has been set up in such a way as to allow them to easily leverage the exposed data for other malicious behavior, like automated credential stuffing attacks. There are few additional details about the leak at this time. The hackers responsible say that the leak includes thousands of strong and unique password strings but many may be reused which would make the amount of useful data smaller. In fact, the amount that this stolen data is being sold for to other hackers on the dark web would indicate that this is the case. Additionally, researchers have pointed out that if the stolen data was quite recent, much of it would have already been exploited by now. PayPal has not yet made a public comment about the forum post claims as of yet, and no one has been able to verify the post's claims either given the small size of the data sample provided. PayPal has never suffered a major data breach before, which to many indicates that the hackers may have obtained this data through other means. Some have suggested an info-stealing malware was used to obtain it, given the way that the stolen data has been structured (URL, login, password). Infostealers are often installed after users click on a malicious link or attachment that has malware embedded in it, then it works quietly in the background to funnel stolen information back to the attackers. Some infostealers can hide themselves or delete themselves after they've taken passwords, browser data or payment information and they're available to buy or rent on the dark web for any platform. This is reason enough to have the best antivirus software installed on your devices and kept up to date. It's also important to follow good security practices, have browser features enabled to protect you online and make full use of the extra included in many antivirus suites like a VPN or firewall. This simple walking change could help reduce your knee pain — here's what the science says
Knee pain can make staying active a real challenge, whether that means running, walking, or even just climbing the stairs. While medication can help, researchers have been exploring natural ways to reduce pain and joint stress. A new study from the University of Utah suggests there may be a simple solution: adjusting the way you walk The research team found that people with knee osteoarthritis experienced pain relief comparable to medication by making a personalized adjustment to their foot angle while walking, either slightly turning the toes inward or outward, based on their individual gait analysis. Even better, participants were able to maintain the new walking style for over a year, which helped to reduce stress on their knees and slow down cartilage wear. Lead researcher Brennen Stemper, a professor of mechanical engineering, explained, 'Our findings show that a subtle change in gait can produce meaningful improvements for people living with knee osteoarthritis. It is not about walking differently all day, every day, but learning how to take pressure off the knee joint when it matters most.' Your gait is the way you walk, including how your foot strikes the ground and how your body moves with each step. Some people's feet roll inward (overpronation), others outward (supination), and many fall somewhere in between. Adjusting your gait is essentially training your body to land in a way that takes pressure off vulnerable areas. If you've looked at our guide to the best running shoes, you may have noticed a section on stability shoes, which are designed for overpronators to help reduce knee stress by guiding the gait. So, should you start marching around the house with your toes pointing out? Not quite. In the study, any changes to walking style were personalized to each participant's gait, so you should not try adjusting your walk on your own. The safest first step is to get a professional gait analysis from a medical specialist or physiotherapist, who can assess your movement and advise whether subtle adjustments could help.
