Nvidia to resume selling H20 AI chips in China after U.S. assurances

July 15 (UPI) -- Nvidia said it will once again sell its H20 AI chips in China, after receiving assurances from the Trump administration. The company announced in a press release Monday it will "soon" resume deliveries of the H2O chips, which have been deemed compliant for China after Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang met with President Trump and other legislators last week. Huang said Nvidia has filed applications to sell its H20 GPU again, and the American government has guaranteed the company's licenses will be granted. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had told Nvidia in April it would need a license to sell the chips to China, which froze those sales as the H20 chips had been designed explicitly to sidestep earlier export controls on Beijing. Huang has also traveled to Beijing, where he checked in with industry and government officials to talk about how AI can safely and securely benefit researchers, increase productivity and grow opportunities. During the meetings in Washington and Beijing, Huang reiterated his company's support toward domestic job creation and both the beefing up of AI onshore manufacturing and stateside infrastructure in order to keep the United States a global AI leader. Furthermore, Huang noted that the new and fully compliant Nvidia RTX PRO GPU "is ideal for digital twin AI for smart factories and logistics." Nvidia stock was up 7.23 points, or 4.41%, in pre-market trading as of 7:25 a.m. EDT. Copyright 2025 UPI News Corporation. All Rights Reserved.

In hot weather, should you drink ice water?

Should you drink cold water when it's hot outside? If the heat is increasing in your area, you may be hydrating more. But should your water be at a certain temperature? Whether you enjoy drinking water that is room temperature, cool from the tap, or chock-full of ice cubes, there are few wrong ways to hydrate, experts said. In most cases, it comes down to how you prefer your H2O. There are some key reasons, however, that some people opt for cooler or warmer water.

As civic chief & BJP members spar in Loni, Rs 100cr projects take a hit

Ghaziabad: Development projects worth over Rs 100 crore in Loni have been stalled amid a deepening political rift between Loni Nagar Palika chairperson Ranjeeta Dhama and the ruling dispensation. The delay, attributed to tenders not being opened, has mounted frustration among residents, who claim basic civic works, including fixing potholes on roads and cleaning clogged sewer lines, remain unfinished ahead of the monsoon. Dhama has accused officials within the Loni Nagar Palika of deliberately withholding approvals under political pressure. "There is a section of public representatives who cannot tolerate development work because it does not suit their political agenda," she said. Dhama staged a two-day protest last week, demanding that tenders be opened, and claimed she received an assurance that the process would soon resume. Caught in the crossfire are thousands of residents. "It's been more than four months, and nothing has moved," said Net Ram, a resident of Ward 20. "We were promised road and sewer repairs, but with monsoon just days away, we will have to wade through waterlogged streets this year too." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Here's Why So Many Americans Are Rushing To Install This Water Filtration System H2O Smart Home Solution Learn More Undo Ajay Choudhary, a resident of DLF Ankur Vihar, echoed the sentiment. "There is clearly a political tug-of-war going on. The chairperson and the MLA are trying to outdo each other, and we are the ones suffering." Loni, a dense and largely rural township bordering north Delhi, has long struggled with crumbling infrastructure, waterlogging, and overflowing drains. Its two main urban pockets — DLF Ankur Vihar and DLF Ved Vihar — face frequent complaints about clogged sewers, poor sanitation, and encroachment. MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar denied interfering in Nagar Palika affairs. "I do not meddle in the Palika's functioning," he said. "If work is stalled, the chairperson must answer why. She herself is facing allegations of financial mismanagement, and some councillors are opposed to her leadership." The administrative head of the civic body, executive officer KK Mishra, confirmed the delay but attributed it to procedural issues. "Some technicalities held up the tender process. We are addressing those and hope to begin work soon," he said. When asked about Dhama's allegations of political interference, he declined to comment. Dhama, once a BJP member, won the chairperson's post on an SP-RLD alliance ticket after defeating BJP-backed Pushpa Pradhan. Since her defection, tensions between her and the MLA have simmered, with the current impasse visibly stalling Loni's development.

Water bill increase now in effect for St. Joseph customers

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — Customers in St. Joseph and surrounding communities will now see increased water rates reflected on their monthly bills following approval by state regulators in May. Effective May 28, a customer in St. Joe using 4,600 gallons a month will now pay $62.53 a month on average, an increase of approximately $9 a month, or $108 annually. This amount will vary based on how much a customer uses. The increase comes after the Missouri Public Service Commission approved an agreement with Missouri American Water on May 7 to increase annual water and sewer revenues by $143 million. The company initially requested a 34% increase that would have raised rates by roughly $18 a month. Customers will receive information about the new rates on their Missouri American Water bill. Information will also be available on the company's website under Customer Service Billing, Water and Wastewater Rates. Missouri American Water offers customers bill payment assistance programs including a payment installment plan and budget billing options available on the customer MyWater portal at Income-eligible customers may also apply for assistance through the company's Help to Others (H2O) Program. The increase was made to help cover part of $1.5 billion in completed or planned system improvements across the state from January 2023 to May 2026. Overall investments include the replacement or installation of approximately 250 miles of aging water and wastewater pipes to help reduce main breaks and sewer overflows. Additional projects include upgrading of treatment plants, fire hydrants, storage tanks, wells, pumping and lift stations across the state. In March, the company began the process of replacing nearly 41,000 feet of aging water pipe, or roughly 7.5 miles, in St. Joseph. St. Joseph's infrastructure project also includes enhancements to the Faraon and Randolph Water Boosters, a critical component of the water system that impacts water pressure and service reliability for residents and the effectiveness of 3,500 fire hydrants across St. Joseph. Missouri American Water serves nearly 1.6 million Missourians and supplies drinking water to more than 31,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in St. Joseph.
