Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch slams Trump's statement on Pakistan oil, says it belongs to ‘Republic of Balochistan'

Quetta, July 31 (UNI) Dismissing US President Donald Trump's statement about helping Pakistan tap its big reserves of oil in Balochistan province, Mir Yar Baloch, one of the most prominent Baloch voices, said that the "oil belongs to Balochistan, and not Pakistan". Taking to X, he posted a lengthy message following Trump's message where he had earlier said that Washington had conducted a deal with Islamabad under which 'Pakistan and the United States will work on developing their Oil reserves.' Disparaging the US President's statement, Baloch wrote that Trump had been 'gravely misled by the Pakistani military leadership, particularly General Asim Munir, and by their diplomatic channels regarding the true geography and ownership of these critical resources.' He added: 'These untapped reserves of oil, natural gas, copper, lithium, uranium, and rare earth minerals are not located within the territories of Punjab which is the actual Pakistan. 'They belong to the Republic of Balochistan, a historically sovereign nation currently under illegal occupation by Pakistan. The claim that these resources belong to Pakistan is not only false, it is a deliberate attempt to misappropriate Balochistan's wealth for political and financial gain.' He further emphasised that should a deal go through, they would by no means benefit the people of the province, but rather all that money would be funnelled by the Pakistani military and its intelligence wing – the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) – to enhance their operation capabilities in expanding their 'global terror network,' and for strengthening "anti-India and anti-Israel jihadist proxies", destabilising the region. Stating that protecting the Baloch people is a matter of global security, he remarked 'There is no doubt: Balochistan is not for sale. We will not permit Pakistan, China, or any other foreign power to exploit our land or its resources without the explicit consent of the Baloch people. Our sovereignty is non-negotiable, and our struggle for rightful ownership and independence continues with dignity and resilience.' Mir Yar Baloch further called on the US and the international community to recognise the sovereignty of the Baloch people, and aid in their independence.

FATF Team To Visit Pakistan Amid Terror Funding, Hawala Networks Complaints: Source

The upcoming review will assess Pakistan's compliance with 34 action points agreed upon with FATF and APG in 2022 A delegation from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), along with the Asia Pacific Group (APG), is likely to visit Pakistan in August for a monitoring and evaluation review, following multiple complaints to FATF regarding Islamabad's alleged role in terror financing and the resurgence of grey money markets. A senior FATF source told CNN-News18 that the watchdog has raised concerns over Pakistan emerging as a hub for hawala-hundi operations, with Afghan and Iranian smugglers reportedly using its grey markets to transfer US dollars. The source further said that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is allegedly manipulating foreign exchange dealers to carry out large, illegal transactions outside formal banking systems. The upcoming review will assess Pakistan's compliance with 34 action points agreed upon with FATF and APG in 2022. During the visit, the team is also expected to meet senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Pakistan, Securities and Investment Finance Commission (SIFC), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), intelligence agencies, and other key institutions. According to intelligence reports, Pakistan's security agencies, including the ISI, Military Intelligence (MI), and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), are allegedly involved in hawala operations. The reports further claim that in the last two weeks, senior Pakistani army intelligence officers, including ISI Director General Major General Faisal Naseer, met with forex dealers in an attempt to hide financial trails and avoid potential disclosures to FATF inspectors. Additionally, New Delhi has filed several complaints with FATF, especially after the Pahalgam terror attack in April 22, the source revealed. The most recent complaint relates to a public post by Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on social media platform X. In the post, Naqvi accused a senior government official in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) of paying ransom money to the Taliban. The post was made in response to KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's criticism of ISI operations and potential military action in the province. The FATF visit in August will be critical. The outcomes of its preliminary assessment will determine whether Pakistan once again risks being placed on the FATF 'grey list'. The country has previously been grey-listed three times: from February 2008 to June 2010, February 2012 to February 2015, and from June 2018 to October 2022. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. SheShakti 2025: Nimrat Kaur Reveals Her Biggest Dream Post-Hollywood, Says 'I Aspire To...'

Last Updated: At SheShakti 2025, Nimrat Kaur revealed her dream after Hollywood success—becoming a symbol of inspiration for young girls from small towns across India. At the recently held Lions International Presents News18 SheShakti in Mumbai — the regional chapter of one of India's largest celebrations of women achievers — actor Nimrat Kaur brought a dose of grounded grace and global perspective. Known for her nuanced performances across both Bollywood and Hollywood, Nimrat opened up about her journey, ambitions, and what she truly hopes to leave behind — not just on screens, but in hearts. The Lunchbox star, who has also played pivotal roles in international hits like Homeland and Wayward Pines, was in conversation with journalist Rubika Liyaqat. When asked about the arc of her career — especially her transition from Indian cinema to playing an ISI agent on American television — and where she envisions herself in the next 5-10 years, Nimrat offered a refreshingly unpretentious answer. 'I'm on my way to creating a space where I won't say it's a legacy I want to leave — that sounds too self-important," she reflected. 'If it happens because of the choices I make, wonderful. But I want to reach a place where a girl from a small town, a galli or a kasba, can look at me and say, 'She's one of us. If she can go there, so can I.'" This sentiment — rooted not in red carpets but real aspirations — perfectly encapsulates why Nimrat Kaur remains a force to reckon with, both onscreen and off. In 2024-25, Nimrat has continued to diversify her portfolio. She starred in the high-flying action drama Sky Force opposite Akshay Kumar and newcomer Veer Pahariya. She also made a special appearance in Kaalidhar Laapata, reuniting with Dasvi co-star Abhishek Bachchan, lending a heartfelt dimension to the narrative. Next up? A detective comedy with Sunny Kaushal and 12th Fail breakout Medha Shankr — a film that promises to show Nimrat in a breezier, fun avatar, breaking away from her more intense past roles. As SheShakti continues its journey to Delhi on August 21, voices like Nimrat's are a reminder that empowerment isn't always about dominance — sometimes, it's about quiet, persistent evolution. After Bangladesh, ISI eyes Nepal as next frontier for anti-India operations

New Delhi: After making Bangladesh its playground, the ISI is now exploring Nepal and proposes to make it another front against India. There has been a sustained effort to increase the number of Pakistanis living in Nepal, and the larger plan is to convert them into assets who would in turn carry out terror strikes against India. A report in a local vernacular newspaper, Purbokone, said that an organisation called Alhaj Shamshul Haque Foundation, also known as the Ash Foundation, laid the foundation stone for a Mosque in Nepal in the Inarawa area near Biratnagar of the Sunsari district. Called the Razzak Mosque, the foundation describes it as a religious hub for the local Muslim population. The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Chairman of the Ash Foundation, Engineer Muhammad Nasir Uddin, on July 18, 2025. During the ceremony, he said that the Mosque would not just serve as a centre for Muslims, but also as a centre for Islamic dawn or proselytisation among the 95 per cent of Nepal's non-Muslim population. 'Razzak Mosque is expected to become a spiritual and communal centre for Muslims in Sunsari, as well as an example of inter-community cooperation and development in Nepal. The foundation is committed to supporting religious and educational infrastructure for underserved communities across South Asia,' the Ash Foundation said in a statement. The Indian agencies suspect that the ISI is backing this initiative covertly. The initiative is also said to have the backing of some Gulf nations and Turkey. In the long run, the Mosque could not just serve as a religious centre, but also as a logistics hub for the ISI-backed terror groups. The Ash Foundation was formally launched in 2018 and registered as an NGO in Bangladesh in 2022. Prior to this, the foundation had operated as a joint stock company. However, on July 18, the foundation gave a public call for donations to fund the construction of the Mosque and also to expand similar projects in Nepal and other neighbouring nations. After the Sheikh Hasina regime in Bangladesh fell, the ISI has pounced on the opportunity to set up its playgrounds in countries bordering India. The Jamaat-e-Islami-backed Muhammad Yunus government has given Pakistan a free hand to operate in Bangladesh. The ISI, which has set up several training facilities in Bangladesh, is attempting something similar in Nepal as transnational Jihadist expansion plan. Nepal is a Hindu-majority country and has never witnessed any sort of religious terrorism or radicalisation programmes. Nepal has been used as a transit point by the ISI to send terrorists into India. There have been reports that in 2023, terror outfits such as Al Qaeda have been attempting to set up training camps in Nepal. Terror groups have also used Nepal as a sanctuary to evade scrutiny by various Intelligence agencies. However, the recent developments are worrying, and a clear attempt is being made to demographically change Nepal. Indian Intelligence agencies worry that such centres could be used to propagate extremism. Further, it could also be a strategy to disturb the majority community in Nepal. It is similar to what the ISI has been trying in the northeastern states and parts of West Bengal, an Intelligence Bureau official said. The idea has been to infiltrate as many immigrants as possible and make sure that the majority becomes a minority. In Nepal, the ISI has been following what several terror groups have done in parts of Africa and Southeast Asia. Mosques and Islamic cultural centres have been set up, and these have operated as Intelligence gathering, radical brainwashing and recruitment units. The agencies worry that a similar project is underway in Nepal, and if not curbed at the earliest, then this could go on to become a major issue. Clearly, an attempt is being made to undermine a Hindu majority nation with a larger plan of fostering armed conflict and total unrest.
