Just seven weeks after leaving the infamous Love Island villa, the pair called time on their romance. Now the star has taken to somewhat desperate measures to find her Mr Right. Taking advantage of the viral Jet2 Holiday advert campaign, Jesy recorded a video of herself boarding a plane from the holiday operator. But as the voiceover blared out on her TikTok profile, she made strange faces at the phone camera as she walked on the tarmac. The caption on top of the video read: "Just a girl on her way to a different country to spend a week with a man she met for 48 hours. Almost immediately, droves of her loyal followers flooded the comments section with concerns for the former reality personality. One fan exclaimed: "That's abit dogey!" A second stated: "Good luck gf !! Blink twice if you need help," alongside a concerned emoji face. "911 on dial just in case, noted a third social media user. Is the 2025 Song of the Summer the 'Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday' meme?
Folks, we have a huge problem. The calendar has officially shifted from July to August, and we're in a dire situation: We have no song of the summer. Last year, we were almost overflowing with options for song of the summer with absolute bops from Sabrina Carpenter ("Please, Please, Please" and "Espresso"), Chappell Roan ("Good Luck, Babe") and Taylor Swift ("I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"). If you weren't a pop fan, Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" was everywhere on its way to becoming song of the year. We even had a whole movement called Brat Summer around Charli XCX's dance-pop album, Brat. In 2025, however, we are in a bit of a dead period for the bright, fun and poppy music we've come to associate with summer. Carpenter's June 5 release of "Manchild" gave us a little something to hold us over, but it hasn't overtaken pop culture like last year's options. Slowly, we've come to realize -- thanks mostly to TikTok -- our only real option for song of the summer is... the Jet2 Holiday meme. The audio features Jess Glynne's song "Hold My Hand" as a voiceover from an advert for a travel deal plays. "Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday," a woman's voice says. "And right now, you can save 50 pounds per person! That's 200 pounds off for a family of four!" Usually this is accompanied by a video that shows some unfortunate travel situation that's likely hilarious to everyone except those experiencing it. It's a sad state when the only song stuck in our heads through July is associated with a viral meme format, but fret not. With Chappell Roan releasing "The Subway" on August 1 and Sabrina Carpenter's Man's Best Friend album dropping on August 19, our long national nightmare might be ending as we head into fall. What is the Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday meme? As we mentioned, it's usually a travel-related mishap that's accompanied by the commercial jingle. Like this: Who sings the Jet2 Holiday song? That would be Jess Glynne, who sings "Hold My Hand."

'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday': Mariah Carey, Jeff Goldblum and more stars jump on trend
A new song of the summer has hit the charts – and no, it's not a Chappell Roan or Sabrina Carpenter tune. Instead, it's a breezy, British anthem that insists your summer fling should be with, of all things, a Jet2Holiday. The discount airfare line has recently found itself the subject of virality, as users post their vacation and life mishaps online to the soundtrack of a 2024 ad promoting the company's discounted flights. "Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday," the ad promises as British singer Jess Glynne's 2015 song "Hold My Hand" blasts in the background. Even celebrities have been eager to hop on the trend, with stars like Mariah Carey and Jeff Goldblum parodying the ad. Social media users are proving why nothing beats a Jet2 holiday. What's that? Goldblum, known for his own TV ad campaigns, joined in the fun, posting a TikTok with a remixed voice-over, swapping "Jet2" for "Jeff2." Fans were delighted, with one commenting: "If Jeff Goldblum isn't greeting me at the gate in sunglasses and a silk shirt, is it even a Jeff2 holiday?" Nothing beats a Jeff2 holiday #jeffirmations #holdmyhand Carey, on the other hand, used the trend to announce her performance at Brighton Pride in the United Kingdom, posting a TikTok of her boarding a plane to the viral sound accompanied by the caption "Nothing beats going to Brighton Pride!!" Jet2, no doubt happily basking in the unexpected free press, commented below Carey's post: "We belong together." Nothing beats going to Brighton Pride!! 🏳️🌈💋 That the "Obsessed" singer was boarding a private jet in her video butts up against the ethos of the trend, which has connected social media users worldwide about everything from budget airfare to hilarious travel plans gone wrong. The ad's song has even been remixed by some on the internet, with a soca version dominating recent videos and a New Orleans bounce remix as the background to multiple dance videos. Singer slams Trump administration for using her song to promote deportations Glynn also spoke out earlier this week about another group clearly not in on the joke: the Trump administration. When the White House's official Instagram shared a post on July 30 celebrating the Trump admin's mass deportation efforts to the tune of "Hold My Hand," Glynn was quick to shoot them down. The video, which showed people being escorted out of a van and marched onto a plane with their hands and ankles handcuffed, was accompanied by the caption: "When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. ✈️🎶 Nothing beats it!" Though federal agents' faces are blurred, the detainees' faces are not. In response, Glynn wrote in an Instagram story: "This post honestly makes me sick. My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity – never about division or hate."
