Deals Signed for Hotel Development at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah
The Saudi Ministry of Sport has announced the signing of contracts with several local and international companies to manage, operate, and develop the construction of two hotels within King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. The project involves the construction of two world-class hotels built to the highest engineering standards, offering integrated services tailored to meet the needs of visitors, tourists, and sports delegations and supporting the Kingdom's capacity to host major international sporting events, SPA reported. Spanning approximately 16,000 square meters, the project will feature a dedicated fan zone, health and fitness clubs, swimming pools, international restaurants, retail outlets, athlete-specific facilities, and conference and event halls. It is part of the ministry's commitment to increasing private sector participation in the development of sports infrastructure and aligns with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by fostering a modern, dynamic environment within the Kingdom's sports cities.

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sport on Tuesday signed agreements with local and international companies to develop, build, manage and operate two new hotels at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport The ministry said the hotels will be world-class establishments built to the highest engineering standards, and offer integrated services designed to meet the needs of international sporting delegations and other visitors. The ministry's acting director general of investment, Badr Al-Juraissi, attended signing ceremonies for the agreements with Kushan Real Estate Development Company, represented by its CEO, Marwan Al-Qaidi; Zuhair Fayez Partnership, which will provide design and engineering consultancy services and was represented by its chairperson, Zuhair Fayez; and IHG Hotels and Resorts, which will provide hotel services and was represented by Haitham Mattar, its regional managing director. The hotels, expected to provide a total of 585 rooms, will be built on a 16,000-square-meter site at the sports city, the ministry said, and will help support the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to attract major sporting events. The development will also include a fan zone, fitness and sports clubs, swimming pools, international restaurants, retail stores, dedicated areas for athletes, and conference and event spaces. The ministry said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to achieve its strategic goals, including engagement with the private sector in the development of the nation's sports industry. It will also support environmental improvements through infrastructure development, and in doing so directly contribute to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, officials said.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sports signed today, June 24, contracts to build two hotels at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah with both local and international companies. The project will cover an area of 16,000 square meters and offer a total capacity of 585 hotel rooms. In a post on its account on X, the ministry stated that the project partners are: Koushan Real Estate Development Company, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Zuhair Fayez Partnership. The ministry added that the project aims to develop the infrastructure of King Abdullah Sports City, provide accommodation options for athletes and visitors, enhance service quality through global partnerships, and involve the private sector in the growth and development of the sports industry.

Coach Michel Gonzalez readies Al-Qadsiah for King's Cup final
JEDDAH: Spanish coach Michel Gonzalez put his Al-Qadsiah team through a light training session on Tuesday as they prepare for Friday's King's Cup final showdown against Al-Ittihad. Al-Qadsiah qualified for the final after beating Al-Raed 1–0 in the semifinal. Al-Ittihad beat Al-Shabab 3–2 to secure their spot. Gonzalez left several of his first team players out of Monday's Saudi Roshn League away clash with Al-Hilal at the Kingdom Arena, which they lost 2-0. Goalkeeper Koen Casteels, defenders Nacho, Ibrahim Mahnashi, Turki Al-Ammar, midfielder Nahitan Nandez and striker Julian Quinones were all rested ahead of final, which will be played at Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City. Al-Qadsiah will fly to Jeddah on Thursday and have their final training session at the stadium ahead of the match.

Sport Minister Crowns Al-Ittihad as Roshn Saudi League Champions
Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal crowned Al-Ittihad Club champions of the 2024–2025 Saudi Pro League (Roshn Saudi League). The crowning followed their 1–0 victory over Damac Club on Monday evening at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
